Stretching from Savannah to the South, and Georgetown to the North, the Low Country is resplendent with the bounties of the sea and coastal marshlands. Succulent shrimp, oysters, crabs, crawfish and catfish abound. Lush greens, corn, rice and ripe red tomatoes are plentiful. Great service, great prices and great food! We were visiting the area and decided to stop in. We had a great experience. If we're in the area again, we'll definitely come back!
Great service and good food at a good price. Overall, a great place to eat!!
Everything was good😊
Took a work group for dinner. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Prices are reasonable as well. I will be back.
Great food, drinks and service. They uphold their reputation as one of the best restaurants in the vista.
Salmon delicious; NY steak came out med not med rare- gave me s chance to redo, I ate orig steak.
Nice setting. Food was very good. Portions were generous. Wait staff was awesome. Ask for Kurt.
We got our food quickly and it was good but the service could have been better.
The food was amazing! Especially the teriyaki salmon and the ravioli.
Ladies’ appetizers came out 15 minutes after the men’s appetizers. Entrees came out 3 minutes after appetizers were served. Felt rushed and table was crowded with plates.
Blue Marlin remains one of our favorite places to eat. I go there on special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, out of town guests). It has generally been great as far as food and service. It was neat to see so many people there enjoying themselves. I am glad I made reservations as there were not any open tables.
This is one of Columbia's great places to eat. You must try it if you have not
I would have given 5 stars if it wasn’t for the fact that my wife ate a very light dinner to save room for the creme brûlée cheesecake only to be told they were out of it...and we had an early seating. The salmon dish that I had was probably the best piece of salmon I’ve ever had. It was a little noisy through most of the meal due to a couple large groups in close proximity to us.
Food was above average. Thought the sauces were a bit oversalted on a c
ouple of dishes. A filet came out medium instead of medium rare but it was so tender the person didnt send it back. Service was top notch even though it was busy. Ashton was her name and was outstanding.
The acoustics are horrible and its so loud in the dining room. If you are wanting casual conversation or a romantic dinner...go elsewhere.
Its probably the best Columbia has to offer, not being a foodies town.
Good service, atmosphere and food. Prices are a little high, considering the smaller portions, but not unreasonable. Highly recommended.
Service was excellent. Cocktails good. She-crab soup was a little thin but had good flavor and filled with real crab meat.
Wow, this place has gone down hill....let's see...ordered app...it was on the table almost instantly...food on the plate was cold and not great tasting...clearly not prepared fresh..lots left over....entrees were really just not good...veggies were undercooked and overcooked (if you can believe that) like they weren't fully sliced so some were super thick and raw while others were brown and mushy...fish was luke warm and crab on top was stone cold...the meal sucked...will not be back here again..disappointing..this used to be a pretty good joint
Parking was the hardest part. Food was delicious and service was great.
We went there for a special occasion with family. The appetizers were great, the seafood entry was great. However we ordered a steak - i think a ribeye, it was over cooked and had NO taste at all. However our dog enjoyed it. When bringing our food there was not room for plates as they hadn't picked up from the appetizers. Not sure I'd recommend or go back at this point. Once done it was as though they needed us to finish up and get out of their way.
Have been a number of times! Always great! Never disappoints!
We went to Blue Marlin on the way AND on the way back from the mountains of NC. The wonderful reviews took us the first time, and the wonderful food brought us back. My husband is in love with the shrimp and grits, my grandson with the fried shrimp, and I love the she crab soup. Thank you for making our travels exceptional!
Food was delicious as always. Service was very good. Both of our entrees were fish and cooked to perfection.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner! Food and service we’re both great. We had shrimp & grits, firecracker flounder and fried oysters.
Father’s Day was great... thanks to a great restaurant
High energy service that at first felt a bit rushed. We were a family group, not in a hurry. Seated immediately with a reservation, food was good, not exceptional. We will return, however.
Our server was so sweet! The scallops were delicious, and our meal was so good. I wouldn’t get the Vista Chicken again but would go back and try something else!
Great experience! Made our Father’s Day celebration special!
This is our go to place. Always good food for the price.
The grits are amazing!!! So creamy and perfect!!! The server was also very knowledgeable of the wine list.
The Blue Marlin shrimp and grits was not a good meal. Also the fried green tomatoes were too hard. Will not order the same again.
Great food. Steak was cooked perfectly although could have used a bit more of the yummy wine butter sauce. Server was terrificly attentive.
I treated my parents to a meal here on the Saturday afternoon before Father's day. We dined outside which was pleasant (my parents aren't typically down for al fresco dining, but they admitted that they enjoyed it). There were only a few diners at the time, and no one was disturbing. It was my first time, and it's been years since they've been here. We were all pleased with everything. I asked them both how they'd rate their meals, and they gave it a 9. I gave my meal a 9 as well. We had the caesar salad, seafood fondue, shrimp and grits, fried fish, and salmon. It was all very tasty, the prices are reasonable, and our server was wonderful! I'd definitely return.
The foods were great! The service by Stephanie was awesome!
She crab soup is a wonderful experience. Crab cakes and shrimp and grits were both delicious with rich flavor and very ample portions. Even the crusty bread was great to chase down the last of the soup.
It had been almost a year since my last visit here but the return leg didn't disappoint. The restaurant is located in a hip area of Columbia. Reservations are recommended because people show up in droves for dinner. Known for their seafood offerings that would be considered comfort southern favorites, they aren't too bad on the meats either. Though not anything you may be used to at some of the more millennial friendly eateries we see today, the Blue Marlin offers no nonsense well made food at a good value and presented with southern charm. Plus, they have some killer collard greens not on the menu you will want to try. If you're in town for business and want a sure thing, this would be your place.
Excellent value for fine southern dining. Crab cakes & she crab soup were wonderful!
I came down from Richmond VA to host a business dinner. I was very happy with the results and all was fine. I had an eerie feeling walk in to your restaurant and then I remembered. I got off the Seaboard Coast line train at that very spot to go to boot camp in 1964.
Blue Marlin is typically one of my favorites. On this occasion, my crab cakes were not warm, my husband’s fillet was over cooked, and the green beans were not as delicious as usual. I am hoping this was just an off night. We will give it another try before giving up on it.
As always dining at Blue Marlin was excellent. Our server was exceptional and provided for a worry free
evening. Thanks again!..
Amazing Dine place to eat I was very pleased and will look to go back.
