Our server was so sweet! The scallops were delicious, and our meal was so good. I wouldn’t get the Vista Chicken again but would go back and try something else!

The Blue Marlin shrimp and grits was not a good meal. Also the fried green tomatoes were too hard. Will not order the same again.

I treated my parents to a meal here on the Saturday afternoon before Father's day. We dined outside which was pleasant (my parents aren't typically down for al fresco dining, but they admitted that they enjoyed it). There were only a few diners at the time, and no one was disturbing. It was my first time, and it's been years since they've been here. We were all pleased with everything. I asked them both how they'd rate their meals, and they gave it a 9. I gave my meal a 9 as well. We had the caesar salad, seafood fondue, shrimp and grits, fried fish, and salmon. It was all very tasty, the prices are reasonable, and our server was wonderful! I'd definitely return.

She crab soup is a wonderful experience. Crab cakes and shrimp and grits were both delicious with rich flavor and very ample portions. Even the crusty bread was great to chase down the last of the soup.

It had been almost a year since my last visit here but the return leg didn't disappoint. The restaurant is located in a hip area of Columbia. Reservations are recommended because people show up in droves for dinner. Known for their seafood offerings that would be considered comfort southern favorites, they aren't too bad on the meats either. Though not anything you may be used to at some of the more millennial friendly eateries we see today, the Blue Marlin offers no nonsense well made food at a good value and presented with southern charm. Plus, they have some killer collard greens not on the menu you will want to try. If you're in town for business and want a sure thing, this would be your place.

I came down from Richmond VA to host a business dinner. I was very happy with the results and all was fine. I had an eerie feeling walk in to your restaurant and then I remembered. I got off the Seaboard Coast line train at that very spot to go to boot camp in 1964.

Blue Marlin is typically one of my favorites. On this occasion, my crab cakes were not warm, my husband’s fillet was over cooked, and the green beans were not as delicious as usual. I am hoping this was just an off night. We will give it another try before giving up on it.

Fairly standard mid-high-end Southern dining. The grits are absolutely worth writing home about. We didn't get the shrimp and grits this time, but it's ALWAYS excellent.
Tasty, fun cocktails, and service was absolutely fantastic, even before we arrived. They were able to bump up the size of our party reservation from six to eight, no problem, when they called to confirm that morning.

I'd highly recommend the tuna, salmon, or the filet steak. The mahi tasted like it could have been a little overcooked, but still quite good. Besides the mahi, every other dish we tried was delicious.

Brook our waitress was outstating. She made our 39 Wedding Anniversary Celebration a day to be remembered.
I cant remember a better experience. The food was excellent and the the Key Lime pie was an excellent touch.
The Blue Marlin knows how go treat their return customers.

Thanks

We intentionally sat outside to avoid the noise level inside and also because we had a large crowd of 10. Please Blue Marlin get blinds to lower on the West side. The sun was blinding. We had a great time and everyone enjoyed the food/drinks.

Overall, the meal was good. The seafood was cooked just right. We felt a little crowded when seated. The slaw, the reason we chose this spot for date night wasn't what I remembered. Oil... no vinegar. We'll definitely eat here again.

My wife and I both ordered steaks. She ordered the fillet minion medium and it came out purple rare. I ordered the ribeye and it had so much pepper on it I could barely taste the steak itself. Our waitress was awesome and very helpful. Food wasn’t worth the price we payed.

We are repeaters to Blue Marlin...always good value. Portion sizes are usually large, so if you have a moderate appetite, consider splitting. Like I tell my kids, “you can always order more”!

I’ve always loved this place so decided to dine here for my daughters graduation. I had the filet special as did my son. Everything was cooked appropriately and the service was excellent however the food really had very little flavor. The steak was bland... perfectly cooked and presentation was nice. Not sure if was quality of meat or seasoning but it had no taste. My son felt the same.

Service was good and our server was very attentive. Vegetables were overcooked and when I asked for a replacement of the same vegetable, I was told that it was the same batch and I would need to get a different vegetable. Another one of our dishes led to a little bit of an upset stomach later on in the night. I would return, but would definitely make different selections. We also were there for a birthday and told our server but she did not acknowledge the occasion or make an effort to help us celebrate.

I like Blue Marlin, and have been there before. I would go again. Ordered two items (an appetizer and a main course) which were breaded and fried. Will not do that again. The breading was singularly not-special and only made the food exceedingly greasy. And without the breading, the calamari (appetizer) and the flounder (main course) were completely bland and nearly inedible. The main course was served with grits and a slaw. The grits were ok (but grits are easy, and there are plenty of places that do better). The slaw was awful. Had a couple of bites of that, and couldn't go on (and I generally like slaw). The ginger mule cocktails were great and the cheesecake dessert was delicious (maybe should have just gone there for drinks and dessert). [I should note that my wife ordered scallops and loved them]

Our family of five included two children who ordered chicken and waffles and fried shrimp and both entrees were excellent. Shrimp and grits and catfish were also well received. I ordered crab cakes Benedict and it arrived with cold eggs, luke warm grits and somewhat warm asparagus. Staff rallied to replace mine. Next try came back with excellent grits and asparagus but eggs and crab cakes came back cool again. Maybe the hollandaise was not hot. I decided to keep this second try and when I got down to the crab cakes I was even more disappointed to find crab so scarce. Even if temps were great, crab cakes were not acceptable. I was a little concerned when I saw such a good price for this dish but my long standing rule that when crab cakes are under 20.00 you will not see much crab definitely holds here. Take a pass on these. Chicken and Waffles was the best of all five entrees.....and it came with bacon!
