Stretching from Savannah to the South, and Georgetown to the North, the Low Country is resplendent with the bounties of the sea and coastal marshlands. Succulent shrimp, oysters, crabs, crawfish and catfish abound. Lush greens, corn, rice and ripe red tomatoes are plentiful. Low Country cuisine brings all of this food together in a sumptuous array of unique and distinctive dishes.

Have been a number of times! Always great! Never disappoints!
We went to Blue Marlin on the way AND on the way back from the mountains of NC. The wonderful reviews took us the first time, and the wonderful food brought us back. My husband is in love with the shrimp and grits, my grandson with the fried shrimp, and I love the she crab soup. Thank you for making our travels exceptional!
Food was delicious as always. Service was very good. Both of our entrees were fish and cooked to perfection.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner! Food and service we’re both great. We had shrimp & grits, firecracker flounder and fried oysters.
Father’s Day was great... thanks to a great restaurant
High energy service that at first felt a bit rushed. We were a family group, not in a hurry. Seated immediately with a reservation, food was good, not exceptional. We will return, however.
Our server was so sweet! The scallops were delicious, and our meal was so good. I wouldn’t get the Vista Chicken again but would go back and try something else!
Great experience! Made our Father’s Day celebration special!
This is our go to place. Always good food for the price.
The grits are amazing!!! So creamy and perfect!!! The server was also very knowledgeable of the wine list.
The Blue Marlin shrimp and grits was not a good meal. Also the fried green tomatoes were too hard. Will not order the same again.
Great food. Steak was cooked perfectly although could have used a bit more of the yummy wine butter sauce. Server was terrificly attentive.
I treated my parents to a meal here on the Saturday afternoon before Father's day. We dined outside which was pleasant (my parents aren't typically down for al fresco dining, but they admitted that they enjoyed it). There were only a few diners at the time, and no one was disturbing. It was my first time, and it's been years since they've been here. We were all pleased with everything. I asked them both how they'd rate their meals, and they gave it a 9. I gave my meal a 9 as well. We had the caesar salad, seafood fondue, shrimp and grits, fried fish, and salmon. It was all very tasty, the prices are reasonable, and our server was wonderful! I'd definitely return.
The foods were great! The service by Stephanie was awesome!
She crab soup is a wonderful experience. Crab cakes and shrimp and grits were both delicious with rich flavor and very ample portions. Even the crusty bread was great to chase down the last of the soup.
It had been almost a year since my last visit here but the return leg didn't disappoint. The restaurant is located in a hip area of Columbia. Reservations are recommended because people show up in droves for dinner. Known for their seafood offerings that would be considered comfort southern favorites, they aren't too bad on the meats either. Though not anything you may be used to at some of the more millennial friendly eateries we see today, the Blue Marlin offers no nonsense well made food at a good value and presented with southern charm. Plus, they have some killer collard greens not on the menu you will want to try. If you're in town for business and want a sure thing, this would be your place.
Excellent value for fine southern dining. Crab cakes & she crab soup were wonderful!
I came down from Richmond VA to host a business dinner. I was very happy with the results and all was fine. I had an eerie feeling walk in to your restaurant and then I remembered. I got off the Seaboard Coast line train at that very spot to go to boot camp in 1964.
Blue Marlin is typically one of my favorites. On this occasion, my crab cakes were not warm, my husband’s fillet was over cooked, and the green beans were not as delicious as usual. I am hoping this was just an off night. We will give it another try before giving up on it.
As always dining at Blue Marlin was excellent. Our server was exceptional and provided for a worry free
evening. Thanks again!..
Amazing Dine place to eat I was very pleased and will look to go back.
Fairly standard mid-high-end Southern dining. The grits are absolutely worth writing home about. We didn't get the shrimp and grits this time, but it's ALWAYS excellent.
Tasty, fun cocktails, and service was absolutely fantastic, even before we arrived. They were able to bump up the size of our party reservation from six to eight, no problem, when they called to confirm that morning.
I'd highly recommend the tuna, salmon, or the filet steak. The mahi tasted like it could have been a little overcooked, but still quite good. Besides the mahi, every other dish we tried was delicious.
Food was outstanding and our server Ashton was great!
Brook our waitress was outstating. She made our 39 Wedding Anniversary Celebration a day to be remembered.
I cant remember a better experience. The food was excellent and the the Key Lime pie was an excellent touch.
The Blue Marlin knows how go treat their return customers.
Great food and service.
The good was meh... I chose this spot for our anniversary dinner. I was terrifically unimpressed. The service was so slow. Took about 1 hr, 30 mins. Waitress was unfriendly and food was overcooked.
Wonderful night all around do recall the servers name but he was fantastic. Great food.
As always, the food was awesome! The young man who served us was very attentive and prompt. The experience at Blue Marlin is one of casual dining with really great food;
Excellent service. Close parking. Meters not monitored during evening. Party enjoyed steaks and salmon. Kitchen bit slow. Desserts took far too long. Cocktails well prepared. Firecracker flounder did not impress.
We intentionally sat outside to avoid the noise level inside and also because we had a large crowd of 10. Please Blue Marlin get blinds to lower on the West side. The sun was blinding. We had a great time and everyone enjoyed the food/drinks.
The food was fresh. The service was great. I appreciated being able to book my table. The food had great flavor, and was fresh. Love the catfish!
Everything was wonderful and Jason was exceptional. We will be back!
We enjoyed our brunch at Blue Marlin. The food was delicious and the server was attentive. The dining room is somewhat noisy.
Overall, the meal was good. The seafood was cooked just right. We felt a little crowded when seated. The slaw, the reason we chose this spot for date night wasn't what I remembered. Oil... no vinegar. We'll definitely eat here again.
Great service and food! I would highly recommend to anyone for special occasion or just to have great experience.
Always an Excellent experience for a Special dinner or casual fun! My go-to in Columbia for 20 years!!! Molly, is an Excellent Server!!!
My wife and I both ordered steaks. She ordered the fillet minion medium and it came out purple rare. I ordered the ribeye and it had so much pepper on it I could barely taste the steak itself. Our waitress was awesome and very helpful. Food wasn’t worth the price we payed.
Food was excellent. Service was great.
We are repeaters to Blue Marlin...always good value. Portion sizes are usually large, so if you have a moderate appetite, consider splitting. Like I tell my kids, “you can always order more”!
I’ve always loved this place so decided to dine here for my daughters graduation. I had the filet special as did my son. Everything was cooked appropriately and the service was excellent however the food really had very little flavor. The steak was bland... perfectly cooked and presentation was nice. Not sure if was quality of meat or seasoning but it had no taste. My son felt the same.
