The reservation process was super easy. The staff called the day of to ensure that we were able to park easily. The wait staff were attentive to our needs and friendly. A special thanks to Sarah for her service and attention to detail. The music was excellent and that along with the the ambience mad for a special evening. To top off the evening, we went outside and enjoyed the fountain and music. We even decided to take the occasion to have a dance. We would recommend the Blue Marlin to anyone. The next morning we went back and had a wonderful Sunday brunch. The pancakes were awesome. Thank you.
When we made the reservation we stated we were celebration 2 birthdays and one anniversary. Not a single individual from the restaurant acknowledge this upon arrival. We we were brought to our table it was set for 5 people not 6!! Our waiter was very disorganized and some of the comments he made to us were said in a rather disrespectful tone. We also were NOT happy with the VIET-CAJUN SURF & TURF. The hanger steak tasted aweful!! Four out of the six people at the table all tried the steak and NO ONE had a decent thing to say about it. For the most part the rest of our food was good. After dinner we were not even offered coffee or dessert, which I thought was highly unsusal and rather rude!! We were offered complimentary bread for our table and after waiting a good 10 minutes, we asked our waiter about it and that is when he got a little snippy!! We also informed him at the end of the meal about the aweful hanger steak and all we got was "I'm sorry." The an establishment such as this, being a higher end restaurant, one would think you would want to notify the manager of the situation!! As we were leaving one of the hostesses also stopped us asking about our dining experience. which I notified her of the steak situation, but never once did she offer to pass the information on to her management. After this type of service, we wil NOT be going back!! We WILL definitely STAY at the resort in the future, the grounds and hotel were phenomenal. We were even extremely impressed with the other restaurant, Oasis Grill, that is on the resort grounds. The staff there went above and beyond to assists us with our autistic child! We cannot begin to give them enough praise for their kindness and patience. I do hope the management reads and evaluates these reviews. I have not doubt this restaurant could become something great, in the future, but as for not it was EXTREMELY disappointing!!
My husband and I went to the Blue Marlin for dinner. It was SO Good!!! We had excellent service and our food was Amazing!! I highly recommend the Surf & Turf. It’s a hanger steak topped with shrimp on top of grits and roasted corn. It was delicious!!
A wonderful place for a nice dinner and cocktails!!
Excellent service and food!!! Will go back soon. View the sights at night which are breathtaking
This is a relatively new restaurant. The dinning room is somewhat stark, and they need to work on the configuration to be more accepting of two diners. The food was very good to exceptional, but the service needs work. We were first lead to a table in a dark corner, when the dinning room was less than full, and then had a extended wait for service, which was interrupted by a change in servers. The Centennial Place is striking and this restaurant has a lot of upside. We will go back.
We had brunch outside in the beach side. It was beautiful. Our service was excellent. The food is delicious.
Stayed at Oasis Hotel & attended Chillin’ on the Gulf Coast. Blue Marlin onsite, so it was a natural. Everything was great.
Great food! Great service
Some issues with seating outside and timing of service. Location was wonderful and there is so much potential.
We absolutely loved everything! We can't wait for our next trip to the coast, so we can go back!
Overall, a pleasant experience. Food and service were very good for a new restaurant. We'll be back.
Very slow service, noise level so loud you could not have a conversation. Food really good but for the price and dining experience we will not return.
food was great and staff was experienced and knowledgeable pairing foods with the wine list. Great experience
Brunch was fantastic. Wasn't crowded due to it being a Sunday in September. Greeting promptly and friendly. Seated and immediately waited on. Our server was very attentive. We started with the Salmon dip and Deep Fried Saltines. Needless to say there was none left it was delicious. My daughter ordered the Eggs Bordelaise and I ordered the Grilled Hangar Steak with Mashed Potato and Asparagus. All of it was out of this world tasty. Best meal we had while on the coast! Will definitely return! Thanks for a wonderful experience!
Some of our food was excellent, but a couple of dishes were terrible. The entrees are overpriced. It's very loud. Prices are fine dining, but ambiance is coastal chic. Waiters are in jeans and gingham shirts. They do not celebrate birthdays.
The selection of seafood dishes was excellent. We crab cake starters then triple tail, redfish, and seafood pasta. It was as all delicious. The white chocolate/caramel bread pudding for dessert was the best I have ever eaten. Our server was friendly and attentive and offered helpful suggestions.
Food was delicious but came out cold. I had triple tail and really enjoyed it. They were training new server who spilled water on my sister and table. The entrance is confusing. Suggest they make the rear entrance which is closer to the parking lot more user-friendly for convenience. They could glass in the front porch and patrons could use it as there are not many windows and beautiful south view is lost and inside ambience is limited. We knew they had not been open long and hope some changes could make it more appealing.
Had a fabulous dinner here last night. Service was amazing. Connor was our wonderful server. So attentive and knowledgeable about the area. Situated on an old VA hospital site that has been refurbished. Amazing job they did with the property and restaurant. Beautiful. Sure to come back when we are in the area again.
We celebrated our anniversary with a great meal at Blue Marlin and the flounder and tuna were delicious. We will definitely come back again.
An amazing dining experience.
The food was wonderful and all of the staff was awesome. They recommended the white chocolate bread pudding and they were right...very close to heaven when you eat it! It was very loud, though. Some of the tables are REALLY close, like you can easily feel a part of the date between the people next to you. The noise level helps to not hear everything going on next to you, but often made it hard to hear the people at your own table. Other thAn that it was great. We’ll be back, we just know to request an alcove table or something more private next time.
Our only complaint was the service was slow. However, the reason for this was that they were so busy that the bartender had to wait on us. He could not possibly have done his job and waited on our table at the same time. But he did it. Even though the service was slow, I will definitely go back
We enjoyed dining at the Blue Marlin. We thankfully sat out on front porch area, so the noise was not a problem, but waiting inside for our table, we could tell the noise level was very high. Everything we ordered was delicious, well seasoned and great. A wonderful addition to Gulfport. Our waiter was really great, and everyone working at the restaurant was very friendly and helpful. We will return.
The redfish was delicious. I also really enjoyed the oysters and the Brussel sprouts. The atmosphere was relaxing and nice. The staff was friendly and attentive.
This place was over the top! The best food we have ever had!! It was very nice to be able to make a reservation.. not many places on the coast that you can make a reservation! Very fancy and will definitely be back. Worth the money and great amounts of food! Service was amazing and a great atmosphere, with historic features.
The food was great, our server Rachael was awesome and the atmosphere was spectacular. The serving sizes were comparable to price. Everyone made an effort to make sure we were being taken care of.
6 of us for dinner. Everyone enjoyed their meal. From the beginning to end everything was very enjoyable....
Beautiful setting and grounds. Excellent food and service.
We wanted to try the new spot. They may still be working out the kinks, but we were not impressed. They had a brunch menu on Sunday that was limited. They had bread plates and knifes on all place settings, but did not offer bread service.
We had brunch on 8/25/19 - family of 4 - it was our first visit to Blue Marlin. The restaurant and the grounds of the hotel were beautiful ! The food was amazing - we had: Hanger Steak, Louisiana Crab Cake Benedicts, Pork Belly for our meals and Chocolate Souffle and Banana Pudding Crème Brulee for dessert. Overall a very great experience for our family !
The whole experience was great! Great service, great food, the atmosphere was great too!
The meal was fabulous! Bridgette was a wonderful server and very knowledgeable. I will be be back. I recommend everything on the menu including dessert.
This was our second time and it will be much longer for us to return, Negatives are: the service was fair but very slow, the barbecue shrimp sauce was too hot( like eating Tabasco only, and shrimp were too small), two members had fish dinners but there was no taste in the meal, soup was warm and not your best, you need to reduce the noise level, much too loud. Positives were: we enjoyed ambiance and the service was fine. We feel the prices are a little high but I guess y'all will work it out. I hope this will help you because we want to return at a later date. Grant
Food was very good. The grounds are beautiful and so in the restaurant. The dining room is a little load with all the hard surfaces.
Excellent service ... excellent meal... highly recommend.
Our waitress Sarah was excellent as well as her assistant. I'm very sorry i do not recall his name. We were a group of seven. Everyone was impressed with the buildings, grounds. The food was very good and a diverse menu for brunch.
I would like to see bottomless Champagne.
We shared four of the desserts which were wonderful.
The music for the fountain just didn't fit the mood, in my option.
Looking forward to returning for dinner.
Wishing you great success.
For the price point, the food and service were not up to par. Every item we ordered initially was not available or had to be subbed for something else. No raspberries for a cocktail, no spiced rum, low on bread so it only came if it was requested, and the asparagus was subbed for broccolini without notice. Portions of our entrees were cold and both tuna dishes were way over cooked. The “risotto” was just seasoned rice that was very dry. We had very high hopes and were very disappointed.
I’m not one to write a bad review and would like to be sympathetic to a new restaurant, but these mistakes are inexcusable at this price point. People are not willing to give a place a second chance, so it’s got to be right the first time. Our server did her best, but was not super present and should have been better coached to address all the food/items that were low, out, or did not arrive.
Really a disappointing evening. Was looking forward to an evening of conversation and laughter with friends. But the acoustics are beyond terrible. The noisy din was so intense that conversation across the table was impossible. I have a decibel meter app on my phone, and it measured 100 decibels! No excuse for this but ignorance. And how about this - my friend’s chair collapsed as we were getting up to leave, and dumped her on the floor!
The food was very good. I wish the bread had been heated a little bit longer. The servers were very nice. They came to check on us a bit much, but I think that is because it’s new and they are training staff. We will go again.
