Absolutely wonderful and lobsters for huge the side dishes were fantastic the noise level was below normal very very happy to have been there very expensive actually

Our dinner reservations were not honored when we got there. We made them for 11pm and got there 15 minutes early, only to be told that the kitchen had closed. We had shown the hosts our Open Table reservation from the app... no apology, just told that "someone had made a mistake."

If there was an issue with such a late reservation, why were we not told prior to going there? It would've been easier to make alternate arrangements elsewhere than going all that distance to be disappointed. We received confirmation notices, but apparently these aren't to be trusted. Why book a reservation at all?

I booked in advanced and didn’t realize they would have a fixed menu for New Year’s Eve so our options were limited. Also our table took a while to get ready. Food was good but nothing extraordinary, and the service felt rushed I guess because it was New Year’s Eve. We had way better food in other places.

Estaba con un nino y me tenia k haber avisado k era demasiada comida... pk pedí entrada y una langosta por cabeza.... en el fondo era porque estaban bien llenas...
Me pareció caro por eso.....

Tenía que haber pedido la mitad de la mitad y no me aconsejaron bien. Aunque fueron súper amables.

Por lo demás langosta top y las mejores margueritas de toda Riviera Maya.

Tip ya estaba incluido... no habitual en Mejico ( como en Usa)

Quaint place. Side street right off 5th Avenue.
Service was EXCEPTIONAL. Lobster was delicious and fairly-priced. 2 delicious margaritas, an appetizer, Lobster risotto, and a fat lobster tail set us back only $100!
Fun little place. I recommend!

My wife’s 50th b-day. The food was good and our sever was very attentive to our large group of 16. The price was right and right off the main strip in Playa del Carmen. The place could use a face lift but as I said food was good and service was great.

They said that the electricity wasn’t working which made it very hot. My wife’s chicken mole was too salty and the other side dish wasn’t tasty. My surf and turf meal wasn’t that bad. They had a noisy entertainment outside then the men wanted money after they did jumping jacks. The ambiance was non existent. The service was good, but the prices were too high. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant as there were other restaurants in the area much more palatable.

The heat was unbearable and everyone got a fan but us. By the time we picked the lobster - all that was” left” was a $75 dollar rail. I don’t buy it. It was delicious but felt like a bait and switch. The heat made it miserable.

First off, a nice place - comfortable and clean with lots of nice balcony seats overlooking the street, cool mix of jazz and blues music... unfortunately you’re looking onto a hooka bar next to two big garbage dumpsters...and the stereo system kept crapping out...

The service was not good...they started by pushing a 3 foot menu at us and trying to get us to order quickly (I think somebody was tired). We held off the waiter long enough to enjoy our first drinks but, when we ordered, he forgot to bring us the next round. I actually had to remind him, having to interrupt him with his feet up, chatting with another server. We also ordered a bottle of water with our meal but it never arrived, even though he tried to charge us for it.

The food was fairly ordinary. We ordered the seafood platter for two house special and the best parts were: 1) the shrimp was excellent, and 2) they didn’t undercook any of the food (and thus we weren’t at risk of being poisoned - not everyone knows how to cook North Atlantic mussels;) As for the lobster tail, it was tough. The salmon was good. At least the tuna and the calamari weren’t over cooked. There was another white fish but it had been somewhat diminished into the indiscernible. Very little of the food was served hot...I suppose it’s difficult to deliver all at the same time but a) perhaps they should figure it out if it’s going to be the house special, and b) perhaps they should consider serving the food on hot plates.

Perhaps I just got there on a bad night...but, then again, the place was not very busy.

We went to Blue lobster as soon as we got off the plane and we were very happy about it. We ordered the seafood fest which included a mix of calamari, shrimps, fish, and many others. It is a plate meant for 2 people and along with it, we ordered a ribeye steak with some fries. Let me say that the steak was thin but one of the best I have had for a while, way better than any grass-fed or Angus that you would buy in the US.
They also have the best margarita in town ( having tried others from 4 different restaurants in Riviera Maya).
If you are a big lobster fan, this is the place to get some. They have the biggest I have ever seen in my life for a fraction of the price you will get them for in the US (especially NYC).
The only regret I have about that place is that it seems like Mexican cuisine doesn't include salt. However, it is not that big of a deal since you can add it yourself once you get your plate.
Definitely stop by this place to get to seafood heaven.\!

If you like lobster this is a place to go. Pick your lobster and choose how you want it to be cooked. Delicious!
They offer good seafood appetizers too!

The value and experience is unreal! The selection of seafood and dishes are incredible. I had close to a 3lb lobster tail, broiled and it was perfect. Our group ate and drank like kings and the service was on par with some of the better places in the US. Loved it!

My husband and I dined here in June. It was early so we were literally the only people there. We picked our own lobsters. They were amazing. The only down side was the flys which aren’t the restaurants fault. It’s open to the street and it was a hot day, so they were drawn to our food! I will return here in February and sit further away from the street!

Using the Trip Advisor recommendations while searching for a seafood restaurant in Playa del Carmen, I came upon the Blue Lobster. The photos shown on the website had me very interested. Booking through Open Table was a breeze, even while living thousands of miles away. When we arrived there we were greeted by a lovely woman who showed us to our table. Our server Marina was very attentive and gave us lots of time to decide on our meals. The tuna tartare was the best we ever had, and the meals were outstanding. My filet was cooked perfectly to medium rare and melted in my mouth. Marina was kind enough to request that the lobster tail I chose be cooked 2 ways; "thermador" style and traditional (split in half). My wife's lobster risotto was simply outstanding. The area was beautiful and the restaurant elegantly decorated. The meal value was excellent and the experience was all I had hoped it would be.

It's a great place to buy very large lobster tails at very large prices. The decor is very touristy shading toward tacky but everyone is very nice and attentive.

Order your steak a little more cooked than you would elsewhere, medium rare is actually just rare at this place.

As long as you're prepared to spend, eat there.
