Dorothy at the front desk was GREAT! She really took care of us! We ate three nights in a row during Derby weekend, and despite of the increased volume, the wait staff was quick to respond, interactive, and professional. I highly recommend the Blue Horse!

Just so you know, you can make a reservation for the restaurant, but you can not eat there. It is closed!! We ended up eating in the bar.

The food was just OK. The service was barely there. The price was way to high for the quality and quantity. The gratuity was figured in at 21% , I guess because there was 7 of us ( 3 adults and 4 kids) and was definitely not worth that.

My wife and I have been here twice now. Both times we got the chicken sandwich, which was delicious. Both times we were served by Matt, one of the best waiters we have encountered in our experience eating out. He was very attentive and friendly. We always had full drinks to sip on while we waited for and ate our food.

Late night service during the KY State Fair week was surprisingly good. However, the buffet was a little disappointing due to the dryness of the breakfast foods. The menu meals that were ordered were good.

Typical hotel restaurant breakfast buffet. We were able to order eggs any style in addition to the scrambled eggs on the buffet. However, no other breakfast menu items were available to order ( only lunch). And it was only noon. We were hoping for some waffles. Plenty of food for my 88 and 91 - yr-old parents despite the limited choices. Also needed to replenish some of the sweets like muffins and raisin bread and danish??? Available food was very good.

Honestly, this place is a great hidden gym. Have stayed at the Crowne Plaza a couple times now, and have had 3 excellent meals at the Blue Horse. Appetizers, salads , entrees, and desserts all outstanding. Wait staff is very engaging. I love the southern charm! The only negative is that the restaurant lacks ambience. It appears very sterile, except for the bar area. I think more hotel guests would dine here if the lights were dimmed a little and the decor was changed.
