The wait staff was excellent, and the ambiance was perfect for a date night. And, of course, the food was fantastic. Well worth the visit and the money spent.
This was my third visit to Blue Hill Tavern and I have been most satisfied on each occasion. My wife and I took another couple who had not been there previously and they raved about it as well. From the moment we walked in we were treated warmly and the staff was attentive and allowed us a relaxing and most enjoyable dining experience.
The service was rushed. We were not yet finished with your starters when our meals came out and we felt compelled to hurry up eating. The server himself looked and acted as if he wanted us to get in and out quickly. He failed to bring the sugar boat when serving us our tea and, before bringing the hot water, simply laid the tea bags on a the bare dining table.
The food itself was very good, some of the nicest turkey I'd ever had. Presentation was also nice but it seemed that the staff had their minds elsewhere. That it was Thanksgiving might have been an explanation but it didn't excuse the behavior of the server and another girl who delivered things to our table.
Good was okay. My son lover his New York strip and oysters. The seafood bisque was ok and she with salmon. Server John really wasn't engaging. I think when I go back I will request a different server.
The Blue Hill has been a favorite for many years. The food is consistently great and creative.
It was an amazing experience. I enjoyed every item I purchased. I would definitely go back.
It was nice to go out after an 8 hrs of work retreat to just chill out and relax .
Service is always impeccable, food is fantastic, drinks are delightful. This is truly a diamond in the rough!
Great ambiance and delicious food!
Overall, a good evening; however, it was a very cold night and when the door opened there was a draft back into the dining room. Most of the food was good, but one person ordered a salad and the greens were not very fresh.
Loved the atmosphere! Food was good. Cheese plate was awesome! Friend pickles were a little soggy. We ordered the steak medium well. However, it definitely was served medium, but still tasty. Would have probably enjoyed the steak more if it were cooked a little longer. The dessert was very decadent...we got the candy bar! I would come back to try other menu items.
Always a positive experience there
Excellent food, service, and ambiance. Would recommend for any date night or special event. Bronzino and calamari salad were delicious
Everything was great! Food was delicious, our server was fast and pleasant. I enjoyed myself and will definitely be returning.
Great service and will be back again. Looking forward to it getting warm again to be outside.
Got kicked out at 10pm on a Saturday night which we found somewhat odd.
Bachelorette party - we had a nice and private long table upstairs and it was almost like having a private room. The server automatically brought us all separate checks which made things really easy. We had a great time
Sad to see the restaurant almost empty on a Saturday night. No more valet parking. Hopefully they can recapture the crowds they used to have.
Seated promptly. Quiet area so we could easily converse. Leonard provided excellent and friendly service. Our water glasses were always full. The food was excellent.
Great place for Wonderful dinner...or a very special night out. I know from previous experiences that happy hour is also good.
Great food ,ambiance and knowledgeable waiter. Thanks Dominic!
We had a great dinner, the menu had something for everyone and everything was delicious. Staff was friendly and efficient. Will be back soon!
Great meal. Well Served!
We were seated promptly. Drinks were obtained and we shared an excellent crab dip. Both of us chose the petit fillet which was cooked to perfection. Apple cobbler and coffee for desert.
Service was attentive but not intrusive.
I did miss the valet parking but had no trouble finding parking on the street.
Very welcoming, beautiful place
Everything was terrific. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Our food was delicious. Each of us in our party raved about our entree’s. My red snapper imperial was outstanding!
We absolutely love this place. The food is delicious and cooked perfectly. The atmosphere is comfortable, and seating areas are very comfortable for private conversation. Blue Hill has shot tothe top of our list of places to eat.
Blue Hill has a great architectural facility. The food is above average, although the caesar dressing on my salad was weak. The romaine was fresh and crisp. They have an excellent waiter named John who has been there a long time.
This place pretends it’s finer dining, yet service and food is subpar. Ordered surf and turf....crab cake was fishy as heck. Also ordered NY Strip....meat was so fatty (and not in a good flavorful kind of way). My steak knife could not even cut through some of the gristle. My tab was over $150...for that kind of money, I expect a much different experience and food quality.
The food was delicious and Dan was an excellent server! Great night to celebrate birthdays!
Great food and can’t beat the ambiance of the rooftop tables.
My friend and I met for lunch here, just as we did last year around this time. Once again we experienced excellent service and a lovely setting.
Added bonus - Parking was no issue.
The food was great! I've been there for a party, romantic dinner and business lunch. Each time was fantastic. Excellent venue and not too crowded. Best kept secret!
Wonderful food and great atmosphere.
If you want good ambience & delicious food, than Blue Hill Tavern is the place. I had the crab cake with lump crab meat & it was excellent!
Great waiter— John
Yes. Our server was very helpful in assisting with menu additions and menu selections. My daughter really liked her birthday dessert (Candy Bar).
Pulling up out front is a sign for valet parking. We pulled in stopped, no one around, we pull around the corner thinking maybe down further, nope, we turn around and come back, still no Valet around. We drive around to find a spot to park whick we did over at the Natty Boh facility, no big deal but but we wanted valet parking.
We walk inside and a guy sitting in the front window / foyer area never looks up from his phone. We walk further inside and no one is at the hostess station. The restaurant is clearly busy at this time (approximately 7:15pm) I take a few steps back and ask the guy on his phone " are you checking people in" he says "no, I'm the vatet" he goes back to his phone.
At this point we just go to the bar and sit, the bartender was very attentive and took great care of us. We asked her to check us in under OpenTable and she had to try several time to get the attention of the hostess who she said was on the phone" after her 3rd attempt over a span of 15 minutes our bartender just wrote the hostess a note, understandable since she had customers of her own.
The food was good. We had crab dip, and artisan pizza with a couple craft beers. We were on a time restraint (main reason we wanted Vallet parking) the bartender was kind and helped us get out on time.
All in all I would go back but it's the little things that make a difference. We were there appropriately 1 hour. Nice place has an upscale feel to it.
Had not been to this restaurant in many years. Thought we'd try it again and very glad we did. Every dish that came out was amazing. Service was great and we were seated exactly where we wanted to be on the patio. This is definitely one of our favorite new (again) places.
We went during Restaurant week to try a new place. Food and service was great. We’ll be back.
Enjoyed restaurant week at Blue Hill Tavern, had a 3 course meal for $35. The food was delicious, the server Bobby attentive. I would go back again.
