Blue Fin - New York

Nothing special about the food. Service was good. For the high price I will choose another restaurant next time.
My fish was spoiled! They were very gracious, but I can't eat bad food.
Blue Fin is great! The fact that it is in Times Square should not deter you. It’s not touristy. The food was delicious as were the drinks. We were there for our friend’s birthday and we loved it!
Overall was good, really depends on what you ordered. A bit pricy, but good location and atmosphere.
Greatest waiter ever!!
LoOove it here!!!! The food is reliably excellent, and the menu offers a nice variety of selections. The decor is wonderful, and the noise level is manageable. Their specialty is sushi, and it is consistently the best sushi I have ever had anywhere. We will be back, for sure!!
Always good from pre-theater lunch. Great choices from lobster salad to sushi to regular entrees. The service is good and they are mindful of the theater starting times
Great restaurant, lovely light seafood dishes
We have eaten here numerous times, often before the theater. We told the server we had a 7:00 curtain - but got our entrée 45 minutes after ordering it, had to gulp it down and run to the theater.
We really enjoyed the food and service. Solid choice.
Service had difficulty keeping up with pace. Ordered a second drink and did not get.
My wife and daughter joined me for pre-theater dinner this week at Blue Fin. My wife and I had eaten there before, having a good experience each time. This time was a disaster. We were seated at 5:15 and told the waiter we needed to be out by 6:45 to catch the show. He told us everyone in there needed to be out by 6:45. He didn't seem in any hurry to take our orders, which happened around 6:30. We did not receive our appetizers until 7:00. Our entrees didn't arrive until 6:37, and only after much complaining to him and to the hostess. While we were just the second table seated in our section, we were about the last ones served and our waiter could only say that it wasn't his fault. We had 10 minutes to inhale the food, pay the check and get out the door. The salmon was just ok; nothing special. My wife doesn't believe she was served the sea bass she ordered. The food is very expensive, as are the wines by the glass, which were fine, but nothing special. And while our entrees were comped by the manager, the entire experience left a bad taste in our mouths. We won't be returning as there are better, more reasonably priced, choices.
Lovely place, but the food wasn't as good as the last time I went. The crab meat that came with the halibut tasted odd; I didn't eat it all.
I was disappointed in the ambiance. I thought it would be darker and more romantic. There were many half moon booths which I felt did not receive the cool vibe of BYC. The apps were amazing and the bronzing was fine. Tuna tar tar was incredible.
Service was not good. The girl was not dedicated and concern about the question of us
Centrally located in Times Square within a 5 minute walk to most theaters. The staff saw that we were in a hurry for a show and made sure to help us have a wonderful meal and experience within our time constraints.
The lobster bisque was amazing!
Nice table. Unfortunately the waitress was apparently overwhelmed. Took 1/2 hr to get a glass of wine. An hour to get any food as she had forgotten to put in the appetizer order. Main course was good and she said “dessert on the house”. We each ordered dessert ( from HER) and when the bill came she said only one was on the house. We informed her we would not have each ordered one had she told us prior. Consequently her manager comped the second dessert. This is a pre theater dinner location and they should be used to 5-730 crowd. The entrees were nicely done. Too bad about the service!
Superb service and exquisite food provided the right choice for our anniversary lunch. Great wine recommendation and the best calamari ever! A delightful meal overall. Photo captures view at the window from our table.
Loved it!. Food was outstanding, service was wonderful. Beautiful atmosphere. Will go again
Although the food was passable, we were less than impressed by the service in the restaurant, and found the menu items equally unexciting. We ordered a trio of tuna, salmon and whitefish appetizers, and then asked our waiter to identify which one was which, but he had no idea and did not seem too interested in solving the mystery. The bill was impressively high (almost $300 for wine and four appetizers). There are other seafood restaurants nearby that we'll visit again, but would likely pass on this one.
Enjoyed a fabulous dinner here with my husband and two daughters, one who was celebrating graduation from college!! It’s a wonderful atmosphere and menu!! Highly recommend to anyone looking for great seafood and/or sushi!
Tha food was decent. Not great but ok. The price value ratio was not good
We have dined here for many years & have always enjoyed our food. The costs are typical “manhattan “ range and there are no bargains but it is in a convenient location & the sea food fresh!
Our waitress , Olga, was delightful, not intrusive but always available to serve us.
Tired. Uninspired menu, space & especially the staff.
Hadn't been in awhile. Food was good, but overpriced, even for NYC
It's been years since my last time here and it was better than I remembered it. The drinks, dinner (halibut in a light citrusy butter sauce with little clouds of seafood gnocci, cauliflower, sweet corn and shrimp) and dessert (lemon meringue tart, molten lava cake) were fabulous. Looking forward to our next visit.
Absolutely delicious pre-theater dinner. Our server Brian was amazing and very knowledgeable about all the dishes. Everything we ordered was wonderful. No complaints!
Excellent food as usual. Pricey but worth it.
We eat at blue fin frequently when going to Broadway and I’m happy to say that this meal was one of the best we have had there. Appetizers sushi mains and cocktails were all delicious. I think it’s one of the best bets in the Times Square area.
Absolutely loved our waiter. Celebrating our anniversary before a show, he was attentive of time and even surprised us with champagne on the house. Food was good.
This is a wonderful restaurant for celebrations, pre-theater or just to have a good meal. Every dish we ordered was excellent -- delicious and fresh. The atmosphere is classy, modern and aquatic. The menu provides a terrific selection. The staff was welcoming and very helpful. Hadn't been there in a long time. Next time will be much sooner.
The bar did not have cold beer. My fiancé’s glass of rose wasn’t very good.
I found the menu less appealing than previously. Very few fish varieties and they were all very complex. Plain fish could be had but with very poor choice of sides.
I've seen this restaurant every time I've been in Times Square. I typically ignore anything right on the square, thinking it's just another run of the mill spot taking advantage of the location. Was I wrong! This place is fantastic. Everything about it was fantastic. The menu is unique. The food was fantastic. The service was superb. We'll be back.
Food was very good. Going to a show and we were out on time.
Was afraid this was a tourist trap but it wasn’t. The food was great, as was the service.
The sushi and chopped salad were wonderful, unfortunately, the halibut was dry and very disappointing.
I have dietary restrictions and called ahead to make arrangements. They did a terrific job creating a delicious lunch for me that was not on the menu and still followed my dietary restrictions (I am vegan and cannot eat oil of any kind). I have been there 3 times in the past 4 months and just recommended the Blue Fin to friends visiting NYC next week. I LOVE this place and highly recommend!
Food and service was AMAZING.
Delicious branzino. Great, attentive service
