We always choose Blue Fin as a post theatre restaurant. It is quite large but intimate at the same time. As the name would imply the menu is mainly fish and seafood. The grilled scallops are fabulous! Best dessert by far is the chocolate lava cake with marshmallow.
Service is always attentive but not hovering.
Menu offers many choices but we always stick to items from the sea.
Nice people, great location on Broadway; we ate here after a play. I had tuna, wife had sea bass; both were very good, not excellent. Room is big and airy, and therefore a little chilly.
Wow excellent fish!!!great location.also for 4 years kid!!!
Good food, good service
Extremely disappointed in the service on a very slow Sunday night. Food was average but the real problem was just lack of attention from the server. There are too many wonderful restaurants in Manhattan to enjoy. Don’t waste time on a below average experience. ☹️
Was looking for a quick meal between matinee and evening shows but also celebrating my daughter's 16th birthday. Right on Time Square but elegant setting, not too loud and food and service were both outstanding. We were a party of six with diverse opinions on cuisine from vegetarian, sushi lovers, and one who doesn't like seafood at all. All gave high praises, great meal and great time. Would definitely dine at Blue Fin again!
First time dining at Blue Fin, the plating was interesting and deceptive. The food was fantastic and finished the meal and was full which was a pleasant surprise. Will be going back next time in NYC. I highly recommend the seasame tuna!!!
Great food!!! Service!! Atmosphere was nice. Bar was nice
The food as usual was really wonderful but the service was such that we could not have a full dinner in an hour and 1/2. No desert, no coffee. We had to leave half our party so we could make a theater curtain.
I love Blue Fin but not if this kind of service continues.
Blue Fin is in the center of all of the action in Times Square BUT you don’t feel overwhelmed with the exterior buzz. It’s just right. My party of 4 was seated upstairs where there’s even more ambience and art. We had at least two of the signature dishes including the Chilean Sea Bass which was adored for flavor and succulent and the Halibut with lump crab and gnocchi which together was delicious but the most pronounced flavor in the halibut was butter. It needed seasoning but it was cooked perfectly. Definitely enjoyed this overall dining experience.
Our dining experience at the Blue Fin was beyond our expectations. The food was fabulous! It was our granddaughters 12th birthday and they made it very special for her.
We had a very bad experience with getting our food. Took forever and we even told them we were going to a play. 3 tables in same room delayed and we had to leave before finishing our food. At the price of lobster and filet mignon I was not happy and they did not seem to be concerned.
Good food, great service. I would go back in a heartbeat.
I (a man) selected Blue Fin and was with five women for a pre-theater lunch. Everyone was really pleased. The menu was varied enough so that all six of us were happy.
Our server was helpful and we were not rushed.
Great job, Blue Fin !
We had a great visit. The ambiance was nice and the food was good. Only disappointment was the selection of food seemed to be minimal. What we did order was good however and the service was excellent! I would recommend and go again.
I'd recommend this restaurant for AVOIDING. Used to be so much better....
My wife, I, and another couple went to Blue Fin for a pre-theater dinner. I and my wife both had halibut with gnocchi. The halibut was cooked perfectly, but we both were a little disappointed in the texture of the gnocchi. We shared a nice bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. For dessert, we split their special, an apple-filled spring roll with caramel sauce and a scoop of homemade ice cream. The spring roll was OK (we both were somewhat disappointed in the crisp crust), but the ice cream was very good. Service was a bit uneven, which was only an issue as we needed to get to the theater, and eventually the manager came by and saw to it that were served more promptly.
Great bartenders, awesome waiters and service, comfortable atmosphere. We will definitely be back again!
The waitress was the best part of the experience; very friendly and appropriately attentive. The food was good but not great for the price. The ambiance was likely better in the front of the restaurant; we were in a room in the back.
Service was quick which was nice as we were going to the theater.
Blue Fin was the perfect spot in the Theater District. Good service, nice look, good food.
We have been here quite a few times. The food is good and the ambiance is hip. It’s really convenient for dinner after a Broadway show. The octopus appetizer is delicious. We often get the seafood mezzanine which is fun and plenty for 2. The desserts are very nice as well.
Service excellent. Food not commensurate w prices even by NYC standards.
Blue Fin is my go to place for oysters, and now sushi. Excellent in both offerings this time, though my daughter's bao buns were unedible--the pork belly was super tough and unchewable. The menu could use a freshening, so until then I'll stick to the oysters and sushi.
We have dinner here many times before a broadway show. It’s a bit noisy but the food is very good. Sushi is delicious and plenty of choices for all different food likes.
Great spot!!! We loved it. The lighting and space was awesome, good was great.
Food fresh and good though though Crab Avocado Salad was a great deal of salad and much less crab meat than our last visit. Still very tasty.
Good food in nice surroundings. Noise level a bit high but doable
Food was great, service awesome. Up until dessert when I found a hair on my plate. The Manager refunded desserts and coffee and did the right thing. Could happen anywhere, and yes I would go back.
Blue Fin has been on the top of our list for dining when visiting NYC for MANY years. Consistently good food and great service. On this last visit 9/27 our server was Emily ... just perfect! We always recommend this restaurant to friends who are traveling that way. We shall return!
Blue Fin was a good restaurant with a great looking menu but, unfortunately, we weren't as hungry enough to enjoy it the way it deserved. We just got appetizers, drinks and dessert. I would recommend to others.
We went for dinner and upon seating our waiter wished us a happy anniversary, which was a nice attention paid to the reservation. Enjoyed the Arctic Char special and Thai Hot Pot. Friendly staff and delicious seafood.
Great classy and peaceful atmosphere. You would never know you were in the heart of the Broadway bustle. Service was superb, and the food was top notch. Excellent seafood. The caviar service was perfect--we had osssetra--and reasonably priced. Highly recommended.
The service was poor although the restaurant was poor
Always enjoy eating at Blue Fin. Service, quality food and in the heart of Times Square.
The restaurant has a wonderful ambiance. The restaurant is located in a great location on Times Square. The food and atmosphere were great. They had several options. They had a nice wine list. The staff was very attentive and the waiter gave us some recommendations from the menu. Everyone at our table tried a different dish. We truly enjoyed our dinner and dessert. This was our second time going to the restaurant while we were in New York. We will definitely go back again when we are in the New York City area.
Very nice place.
Food and service were wonderful. My first time to eat here. I would definitely go back
The food and service were excellent
