Blue Fin - New York
Book your next event with us
Worst service in a long time. Food is ok but you are in NY and don’t have to settle.
My family and I went to this place after a Broadway show - it was very convenient to the theatre district. Great place for top notch seafood. The halibut was delicious and the salads were refreshing. The fresh baked bread they served with dinner was outstanding. I'm looking forward to going back
Average breakfast food and poor service. Water glasses and coffee sat empty for 20 minutes. Not the restaurant’s best effort on any front.
We loved the food and our waitress, unfortunately even though they asked about a theater time line and we said we were under pressure to leave for 8:00 curtain call, we were not able to reach our theater on 45th street in time as they brought the main food out over 45 minutes after the appetizers. We sat down at 6:15.
The end to a beautiful theatre matinee: “Come From Away”
Tom & Dorothy
Lobster bisque was excellent. Lobster for two was good, but I think I would get a different dish next time. Wine was very good, as was the dessert. Will definitely go back and recommend to friends.
I had a group of clients in for a meeting and they wanted sushi and to stay close to our hotel. Blue Fin was able to meet the mark. The only thing I wish is that they would have sashimi on the menu as well as more rolls, even if it’s “build your own roll”. Everyone was happy with their meals and cocktails and the server was awesome by helping me convert one of the cocktails to a mocktail. Highly recommend.
Following our Broadway e shared a number of appetizers as dinner. All were delicious. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. A little pricey for what you get, but not bad.
Blue Fin has reliably excellent food and service. Also reliable is the
noise level, its not energetic, its outrageous, but I am a grumpy old lady, so take that critique
from whence it comes.
The location is perfect for lunch or dinner and a show. I have been many times and will
return hearing aids turned up to the max!!
Great sushi restaurant in Times Square
Everything was excellent. A great experience. Food, atmosphere and service were top notch. Location makes it a go to place whenever I'm in the theatre district.
Does not compare to Blue Water Grill. The food was just not that good.
The food gave me a dodgy stomach straight after eating it and the lobster wasn’t hot
Great experience for us from South Carolina! It was a great experience and we will certainly choose Blue Fin if and when we return to New York!
Went for wine an apps; would recommend coming here before the theatre. Great wine selection and apps were fantastic. Our waitress got us in and out in time for our show!
I don't know what happened. Normally a great pre-theater spot. This time, food was poor, service was surprisingly poor (and yes, we know pre-theater is busy but it has always been on the numerous times we have been before) and just their usual specials/personal care was so lacking. Took 15 minutes for my wife to get a glass of wine after ordering.
We are going to be looking for a go to restaurant for pre-theater, unfortunately.
I had the Thia Seafood Hot Pot. It was loaded with seafood, including one half lobster. The soup had just the right amount of spices. Great dish.
Noise level was a bit too much for me. Could use some sound dampening material around the room.
We celebrated our anniversary with a trip to NYC and Blue Fin. Amazing restaurant, great food, and impeccable service! Our waitress was perfect, gave great recommendations, and made our experience fabulous! Highly recommend!!
We have been to Blue Fin many times over the years. It never disappoints. The menu is varied and original. This time, we both had the chirashi bowls, after sharing a Caesar salad. The fish was so tender, clearly very fresh. The Caesar salad's cheese thins and whipped-yolk hardboiled eggs made it outstanding! Great pre-theatre dinner.
If you’re dining alone, you might get ignored and have to ask for everything but the food was good and arrived quickly, albeit served by kitchen staff because my waiter was mostly awol.
Absolutely delicious food, some of the best we have had. My only (very mild) criticism would be that we could have been left a little longer to enjoy our cocktails before the food arrived. I suspect this was a symptom of often catering to the theatre crowd. Overall a fantastic meal and we would definitely recommend (especially the Thai hotpot!)!
The food was good and it is a reliable pre-theatre place. But the truth is that it is overrpiced.
My first time here pre theatre was a delight. Service, starting at both host stands and continuing at the table was authentic and engaging. I had soft shell crab sushi, first of the season, which I really enjoyed, a plate full of truffle steak fries (what could go wrong there?) and a delicious warm/cool mixed beet and goat cheese salad. Two days later I'm craving a re visit to eat all 3 !
I love their food and they are always very nice, but it was very noisy this visit.
Not inexpensive but excellent, particularly as a restaurant in the theater district. Been many times and never disappointed.
Excellent server and superb food! The Beet Salad is insanely good and completely memorable. Amazing sushi!! I'll be back!!!
Blue Fin is consistently reliable for pre-theatre. The food is delicious, room is spacious enough for conversation and the service excellent.
A wonder that you would find a superb restaurant in the Times Square area that normally has good but not great places to eat. The restaurant, affiliated with Atlantic Grill on the upper west side, offered excellent appetizers and main courses. Service was exceptional. And we got out in plenty of time to get to the theater.
Had brunch here with the hubby this past Sunday. Food was delicious and the service was great!
Maybe it was because they were closing but the food here was not good. The fish was so overcooked it was like rubber. Sushi was ok. The drink was very good
Very nice after-theatre late night meal. Quite a respite from Times Square. Beet salad was excellent, sushi rolls were fine, nothing too special but overall a nice experience.
Food was not good. Ordered little neck clams got cherry stone. Were not good. The chairs in the restaurant were stained and torn. Really thought for a W hotel it would be clean and furniture updated. Place needs a complete remodel and new chef.
My waiter was exceptional. He was very classy and knowledgeable about the menu and specials for the evening. Checked on us frequently and even engaged in conversation.
This was a nice evening. The staff was great; the food was very nice. I did notice that the upholstered chairs were in need of cleaning or updating. Our table was not in the best location. Other tables were available and we should have been seated in a better location considering it wasn't that busy. I will come back. Hopefully a bit of updating will take place before then.
Lots of great choices. Excellent dinner and service with family members. Great location!
Our Sushi was excellent
The T-Bone (Meh) - possibly cause we stuffed ourselves with the apps...
My son's chicken tenders were OMG. yes i had some of those too...
Server was awesome!
Food was super mediocre for the price.
Lacks flavor, very bland. Truffle roll had no truffle flavor
Great service and terrific food!
Was very good food and was nice to celebrate an anniversary. Service was ok and drinks were high priced.
