We are new to town. Just out experiencing as much of New York as possible. We looked at all the reviews and decided to give this restaurant a chance. Recommend reservation for sure. Food was delicious! Service was great and fast! Cost was average for the area. Overall great experience!!
Overall the food is good. The noodles we ordered are not good tho. Too salty. However the roll is very nice. Will recommend to reserve it since it can be very busy.
We were there late on a Friday night when it wasn’t very crowded. Service was disappointing. Food was fine. Nothing impressive to bring me back.
Service was terrible. Complained to manager who gave no consideration for the worst service ever.
beautiful place, relaxing setting. great menu. wonderful pre-theater choice.. honor reservations promptly. service great.. reasonable prices for heart of NYC...
Always great food - both lunch and dinner. Excellent !!
Booked before a play. First time there but will not be the last. We had lobster and shrimp roll, spring rolls and tater tots with bacon.. Everything came out hot and fresh. Food was excellent and service was very attentive.
Food was very good overall. Dessert was delicious! A little noisy so not the best if you are trying to have a conversation.
We've eaten at Blue Fin before but this occasion was Mother's Day & it was my choice. I love fish, all kinds. Our starters were half dozen oysters (Eastern & Western) and their trio of tartares (salmon, tuna and hamachi) -- all incredibly wonderful. The tartares had wonderful texture and seasoning and were melt in your mouth. The oysters offered a variety of sweet and briny. Oysters are a relatively recent passion of mine and I want to go back to Blue Fin and try their Shelfish Tower. For our main dishes, my husband had sesame encrusted tuna over noodles -- tuna was perfectly cooked, rare in the center. I had sushi -- hamachi, toro, uni and a rainbow roll. All delicious. We skipped dessert but frankly I would have had more sushi for dessert. Service was excellent and not intrusive. We shared a bottle of white wine (chablis, I think) which was also very good and a good accompaniment to the fish. The restaurant is also very lovely and a nice place in the middle of Times Square -- you don't feel crowded or sandwiched in. Very comfortable.
Incredible experience, great food, highly recommended
We arrived for Mother's day dinner the managment made us feel welcomed from the moment we step through the door, the wait service was excellent and also the bar service too, will definitely be back soon ,thanks for a wonderful time. Marilyn and Ernie
Heard so many great things about Blue Fin was dying to try it. Maybe Mother’s Day wasn’t the best choice because it’s so busy but for a place like this I guess my expectations were too high. Food was great but the rest of the experience left a lot to be desired.
It was Mother’s Day, so more hectic than usual. To call the noise level “energetic” is polite. But it’s still my go-to place for pre-theater brunch.
Great food, great staff, good atmosphere. Well worth the price. Nice menu selection.
What a great restaurant to have right on Tines Square! Considering the location, it’s quite a find. The sushi was very fresh and innovative. We had the special salmon sushi and dragon roll. Our main courses of of sea bass and a special striped bass tasted amazing although not particularly creative. Drinks were tasty. We had the mule and the prosecco elderflower drink. Dessert was just ok
It took a while for us to be served but we weren’t going anywhere and we did let our server know this. He was very friendly and even took our picture for us. Overall a great experience
We had a great pre-theater meal.
Fresh fish and sushi, plus gluten free friendly.
Waiter brought a gluten free roll to me without me asking.
A fun and lively location.
They had nice music, which was great! The ambiance is nice with good lighting. Good presentation on the food but not memorable, although the oysters were fresh ... it was my birthday and the waiter brought assorted cookies with a candle in a very nice presentation. I loved the detail.
Pre show dinner. Very good. A little pricy. Very good service
Our dinner was great and as usual the service was excellent this is my favorite restaurant in the theater district
Good overall. Was a little cold given how empty it was at lunch time.
Perfect Pre-Theater location. I hate Times Square, except for the theater so it is very hard to find a place which knows how to get you in and out without it being overrun with tourists.
Food was very good, prices a little high, waiter (Raphael?) was really, really great...We would go back just for him!
In town to see Springsteen in Broadway, dined here after checking reviews. Found everything delightful. Service (Kendra) was excellent. Food was pleasantly presented, tasty and portion sufficient. Prices were appropriate for location. Would definitely dine there again.
Solid pre-theater restaurant. Service was attentive and quick. This was my second visit and now consider it a dependable option. Would recommend.
Granddaughters 16 th - lunch and a show
Very impressed. Great food at decent prices, friendly unrushed service - we were there for pre Theater dining. Will definitely go again.
Far too loud, you could hardly understand your partner or even the waiter
We went here since it was close to the Theater. We had sushi and it was mediocre, service was slow, keep in mind this was Saturday night, and cinco de mayo. But the reservation was at 6:15 and they should have had more staff.
As a native New Yorker, the idea of "foodie" and Times Square" in the same sentence is laughable. (Yes, there are good food choices on the side streets.) But there is one laudable exception -- Blue Fin. Despite its having changed ownership three times over the past several years, it continues to provide top-quality, chef-driven meals to locals and tourists alike. In the past three weeks my wife and I have eaten there twice, a rare occurrence since there are so many other pre-theater options. This past time I wanted to go back for the Farmers Market salad with burrata; it's one on the best salads I've had in years. At $17 it ought to be, but we shared it, and they split it onto two dishes in the kitchen, so we each had a beautiful presentation. Then we also split (we avoid large meals prior to sitting in a cramped theater seat) the Swordfish special. The fish was slightly less moist than it could have been, but the accompanying mushroom/truffle ragout with fresh peas was worth the trip alone.
I had requested a table on the main, rather than upper, level and they thoughtfully accommodated me. Delicious food. Careful service. Recommend.
Great waiter. Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about menu. Food was prepared well and tasty.
Great for Perth eater only. Lots of better fish houses in NY. My meals was ok, kind of bland, so much so I've forgotten what I ordered. Rolls are pretty good but an odd rendition of a spicy crunchy tuna roll. Grilled octopus was rather nice. Skipped dessert.
The food was terrific, sushi was very fresh - in addition to the fish - and the service was great
We had a great dinner - very fresh seafood - excellent sushi - great drinks - and great service
As always Blue Fin does not disappoint. The food is flavorful and fresh. Love the Bang Bang Edamame and unique sushi roll specials.
Great food. We were on vacation, and the appetizers, in combination with the sushi rolls and a side were more than enough for the two of us.
We came for dinner before a broadway show, they made sure our food came fast. I had the lobster and shrimp spring rolls for appie they are fresh and absolutely delicious, I loved the half lobster and abundant clams squids mussels in the Thai hot pod. My husband really liked his octopus and sea bass. We’d for sure go back!
5 of us celebrating graduation. We all loved our food. And service was good. The place gets fairly loud. Love the salmon burgers and special sushi.
We had a wonderful time ( again ) -- we love this place!
Service was fast and attentive. Food and drinks were delicious. Twelve-out-of-ten recommend.
