Always fresh sushi
Food was good and service was as well. Nice table and enjoyed ambiance
We've eaten here 3 times and every time it exceeds our highest expectations. Absolutely every part of the meal was superbly delicious: from the delectable Bloody Mary, to the wonderful wines, to the soups & salads. The entrees are always exceptional. And despite filling ourselves to the brim with all the scrumptious offerings, we always have room for the remarkable desserts. Our wait staff has been attentive, courteous, and helpful every time, as well. This is our favorite restaurant in NYC. Can't wait to return for our next special event.
The staff was excellent- very friendly . The wine selection was good . But my favorite was the red snapper.
Kendra was great, had awesome recommendations! Highly recommended
The food at the Blue Fin is always fresh and delicious, although a little pricey. We are from Chicago and come to New York a couple times a year. We never miss at least one meal at Blue Fin every time we are in town. It's right by Times Square in the middle of everything.
I love this restaurant
Good place, not great. Service was really good, but I think the food is good, but probably doesn't match up well with the price. Would go back though.
I haven't been to the Blue Fin since they renovated. Blown away by the food as I have been in the past. I had the brussel sprout and kale caesar salad which was delicious. My entree was the halibut over gnocchi which as reviews advised was perfection. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. A bit pricey but that is to be expected in NYC. I will definitely be back again.
Overall, it was just ok. We had a pre-theater reservation (and left ourselves plenty of time), but despite telling the serving staff a couple times they were still really slow. The halibut was over-cooked, bland and dry, the gnocchi was bland. We ordered the apple pie for dessert and found the crust extremely dry. The ladies room was atrocious (and it was an early weeknight evening). I've been here before and had better experiences so hopefully it was just an off night.
Our service was off. A place setting was left on the table when there were three of us and not four at the table. Everything felt slightly odd. Then soy sauce was spilled on my boss by the waiter when he was clearing our table. The music was a little loud for lunch. And the little things all added up and we have decided to avoid this place for a while.
Loved that tables are spread out and the environment is serene and NOT noisy as is the case with many Times Sq restaurants
Blue Fin was the perfect place to go for dinner after the theater. The service was good and the food was very good.
All aspects by every measure excellent
Enjoyed the food and ambiance again. I am a repeated guest.
Delightful evening. Waiter was awesome.
Everything we ate was delicious. We had oysters and toro sashimi for appetizers and we had Chilean sea bass and the salmon for dinner. We had great service too. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
We had a lovely brunch and enjoyed the complimentary cocktail. I was unable to make a dish vegetarian by substituting the meat for avocado but was able to purchase avocado as a side.
Excellent. My partner and I always eat out on Friday night. We had a gift certificate for Blue Fin. Our experience was close to perfect for a New York City restaurant. We will definitely visit Blue Fin again.
Food was good, ambiance not great, everybody OVERSELLING and UPSELLING to the point of annoyance. One & done...
One of favourites in mid-town. Great for seafood, vibrant atmosphere
Great as always will be back for fresh fish ! Great waiter
Wonderful ambiance and a beautifully decorated location. Great spot right on Times square. Food quality was outstanding, service was excellent, but it is very pricey, even by mid-town standards.
When researching the best places for Breakfast/Brunch in the Times Square area, we came across Blue Fin on Foursquare. They listed Blue Fin as a top 10 restaurant. After eating here, I'm surprised it's not #1! All four of us agreed that it was one of our best breakfasts ever. The omelets were incredible. They served many local farm fresh items including their eggs. The organic coffee and chai tea were excellent. The huevos rancheros were very tasty. The server was friendly but not intrusive. When we're in the area again, we will definitely return for breakfast/brunch.
Seafood is amazingly fresh and sushi is delish!!! Mojitos are great too!
Went after a theater matinee and power nap.
Table was ready when promised, Great location, friendly and helpful staff, affordable food & drinks. I can’t wait to go back.
Excellent food and service, as always!
Food was excellent. Server was nervous and not very composed of the table. We waited close to a half hour for the clear table and no drinks for the check.
This was a good choice for a party of six before a Broadway show. We were going to different theatres, and the location was central. Meal was efficient so we weren't worried about time. We really enjoyed the cod entree.
The lobster and crab on a brioche was excellent as were the waffle fries with the Bloody Mary for brunch. Salmon sushi was also tasty. I couldn't walk up all the stairs so they were able to put us on the ground floor.
Our meal was excellent and the service was as well. It's also close to the Broadway theaters. I told the waiter I was on a Gluten Free diet and he noted it for the kitchen.
Emily and Laura took great care of us
Really great seafood near Times Square. Worth the price.
The food was not fresh, and the grilled tuna was third rate. I should have stopped eating immediately but did not, and ended up spending the next afternoon and night in the ER violently ill.
Food was just ok. Portion size was on the small size for a $30 salmon entree.
Great food, great service. Everything I hoped it would be. Can’t wait to go back.
After reading many reviews we settled on Blue Fish for dinner after our Broadway show. Our waiter was perfectly timed, well skilled and personable . The Thai Hot Pot was a large dish, my husband said it was one of the best dishes he has ever had. We also enjoyed the Sea Bass and as other reviewers had mentioned, the fish is perfectly prepared. If you are in NYCity, this restaurant is a must!
I enjoyed my time dining at this restaurant. All the staff were very friendly and always have a smile on their faces. I would dine at this restaurant if I visit NYC again in the future. The best sushi I had while I was vacationing in NYC.
Fantastic job and keep up the great work!
Very good service , servers were attentive and available . Food on point. Price adequate to area
Our server had a trainee with him so that might have been the cause of the delay, but it's still no excuse. We waited 30 plus minutes to get our drinks (they sold out of the bottle of sake we wanted and the beer we wanted). Then it took another 35 minutes to get our appetizers. They probably wanted us to get our drinks first before they put in the food order...bad judgement call as we had kids with us. The table next to us (different server) was already drinking and eating within 15 minutes of sitting down and they were seated after we already gave our orders. I gave the service 3 stars because after we complained, the service was outstanding. As much as I enjoyed the food, I would only go back if somebody else suggested we go or if I have 3 plus hours to kill for dinner.
