Blue Fin made our pre-"frozen"show a wonderful experience. Service was impeccable. We love the food: looks nice and tastes better(we had the restaurant week menu and I strongly recommend the tomato soup, steak and shrimp, and the cod.) Decoration is nice and elegant.
Attended for restaurant week. Service was lax. Food was relatively expensive for hit and miss dishes (sushi was very average, white fish & salmon were good). Times Square location is underwhelming.
My best friend and I came here for restaurant week and had a great time! Our waitress, Kendra, was very nice and super attentive. The food was excellent and so was the wine! Definitely recommend and look forward to coming here again.
I like Blue Fin before theater, preferably downstairs where it is quiet and intimate. The downside is that drinks come from the busy, nosy upstairs, and the food other than sushi, may also. That said, service is on the slow side, though waitstaff is pleasant.
The food is decent although overpriced for sushi rolls that are no better than any local Japanese. Edamame, for example, is $12-much less at most Japanese restaurants but a greater quantity here, so it’s a good idea to share dishes. Going prior to a show is perfect for a couple small plates but with glasses of wine for two, you’ll be spending over $100.
Big fin was a great dining experience. The food was well prepared and the portions were ample. Also, our server Kendra was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional.
This is an expensive restaurant and usually good food. Today my salmon appetizer was served with a hard piece of clear plastic mixed in. The lights are dim so it’s hard to see what your eating BEWARE!
This is just unacceptable. No one could explain how it got there. Not very appetizing after that incident.
We had a terrific time, and loved our food, and the wonderful service!
The food was fresh and delicious. The seafood rigatoni was a bit over done, but the lemon meringue tart was scrumptious.
Beautiful decor, delicious food, great prices!
We’re Landry members and found this restaurant was in the area we stayed. We had breakfast and it was beautiful inside and the food was delicious. Nice portions. Top notch service. We’ll definitely visit Blue Fin again. I would try their dinner meal.
Fresh, excellent fish in the Chirashi! Cooked Halibut was also just right. We had both dishes split to share, and the kitchen obliged very nicely and even presented the Chirashi as 'first plate' and then followed appropriately with the cooked Halibut. Dessert was the Lemon Merangue tart, very tart, very tasty! The prices are NY high, but at least we feel we got what we paid for! And no rush/pressure to clear out before curtain. We'll try this place again, perhaps without a show to rush off to see.
Table for 7 was a little tight and the restaurant was noisy but we enjoyed it overall
Interesting sushi rolls. Great for an appetizer. We had the drunken tuna. and rainbow roll. The salmon was cooked perfectly as was the sea bass. Fresh and delicious. For extra sides we had the Brussel sprouts and tarot tots. Bother were yum. Drinks were just okay, but very overpriced. On the whole a great pre theatre spot.
Went there for an early (5pm) dinner pre-Broadway show, and could not have been more pleased. Plenty of good menu choices, great cocktails, pretty surroundings, very good service, could actually hear conversation across the table, not rushed.
It’s always delicious food well served. I am only able to eat soup and I love the lobster bisque.
Haven’t been here and years..still nice choices on the menu..
Great if you’re in the theatre district..
The fish that we have it was frozen and it’s not cook enough
Quick bite before a show. Great service!!
A favorite restaurant in New York- always enjoy for any meal
Great spot to hit before a show. Highly recommend this TSQ staple!
Food is superb! Beautiful atmosphere. Convenient to shows!
It was my birthday dinner with my daughter. She chose the Blue Fin and I was pleasantly surprised on how much I enjoyed it! Maggie our waitress was exceptional! Anthony who greeted us was very friendly!
The Bartendar (didn’t catch his name) was unimpressive. I was happy we sat. His cosmos are not his strong point. He wasn’t very friendly or helpful.
The food was delicious! We had several appetizers, oysters, edamame and California rolls. For our entrees we had the scallops with short rib dumplings (amazing) and the Halibut with lobster gnocchi with rock shrimp, corn and cauliflower so yummy! The homemade ice-cream and chocolate molten cake was mouthwatering!
I recommend this restaurant! Did I mention we were going to the theater and got there at 5 and were out by 6:30 never feeling rushed!
Convenient location for pre-theatre meal. Service is good and friendly and food is consistent.
We had not been to Blue Fin in years but were going to a show nearby and decided to dine there. We weren't really expecting much, as in the past we had been unimpressed and found it pricey. We were very pleasantly surprised to find that the menu was interesting, the food was very fresh, well prepared and nicely presented. We sat at a comfortable round table. Our waitress was pleasant and efficient. I will not hesitate to go back.
I have been eating here for years. Use to be my favorite theater restaurant. It has gradually decline in food and the place is getting sad looking
food was great, priced right a very upbeat vibe and the staff was very professional
Jason our server made our experience fantastic. We had a great brunch!
We ordered appetizers, drinks and entrée and everything was tasty and delicious! Planning on revisiting!
We only had appetizers which were pretty good. Drinks were good.
Waitstaff wasn’t very attentive. Never asked if we wanted a 2nd drink.
One of my favorite restaurants in the city.
Food was sub par.
Restaurant needs a renovation.
Bathrooms are atrocious, no hooks on doors and sinks without faucets!!!! Not what I expected for the cost.
Good for meal before or after a Broadway show. Not a tourist trap
Outstanding restaurant, consistently great!
Our server was fabulous! Made it an even better experience.
Nice menu. Monday night not crowded or noisy. Would recommend and return
I used to always recommend Blue Fin to people visiting from out of town, but this time it was just ok.
The food was fine... we got 2 sushi rolls, and 2 other appetizers to share. Maybe the entrees would've been better but I just expected A LOT better food for the price.
Also, we had a reservation at 6:30pm and tons of people were also waiting for their tables at 6pm or 630pm and were getting extremely frustrated because of course everyone was heading to a show.
Usually solid place for dinner before a show. Waited 15 minutes to be seated. Seemed like first night for hostess who was having user issues with computer. Once seated waited 15 minutes for order to be taken and entree did not come out for 45 minutes. Table next to us the couple had to leave before being served their dinner because it too so long. Not sure if this was a off night or the new norm.
We had a delicious meal in this bustling Times Square restaurant, but I particularly want to call out great service. I realized after arrival that our must-be-printed theater tickets were back at our hotel, far enough away that going back for them would interfere with dinner. The manager on duty tried several times to reprint the tickets, and when that didn’t work, introduced me to the concierge at the host W Hotel until we found a solution, all while allowing me to enjoy my meal. Thanks Caitlin!
Food and drinks were amazing! Tuna was perfect and the rolls we had we terrific!
We had a good time and the food was very tasty, however we were warned that the entries would take over 30 minutes.
