Blue Fin - New York
Book your next event with us
Terrible restaurant on Time Square. I can’t believe the restaurant is part of W hotel. Food was really bad and sushi cold. The temperature in the restaurant was really too low, needed to wear my jacket.
All good but too salty in my opinion
Bartender was too busy talking to make our drinks. It was my birthday and little acknowledgment. Too bad. Has good potential
I admit that I was a little nervous given BlueFin’s location right in Times Square, but I was pleasantly surprised. The food was very good, the space is modern, and the service was professional.
The sushi was outstanding. Several in our group liked it better than Nobu!
This was most amazing brunch on my birthday and Mrs Mullins made sure we had a great time (we are sisters from another mister same last names) thanks guys New York was awesome and so was Blue Fin
The food was of good quality. But they were out of things on the menu on a Saturday night!! That was disappointing. Sushi was good but not exquisite. The service was not that great. We waited 20-30 mins just for a glass of wine. I expected a lot more from this restaurant considering the area and the prices. It was an OK place. They also had informed open table that I did not keep my reservation which was not the case.
Took a while to get our drinks. Order was messed up but they did take it off our bill. Kinda crowded seating but food was good.
First time in New York with my friends. Awesome food selection.
Food was okay, but service was slow. Food took an hour to arrive.
Probably a bad experience as it was Valentine’s Day although i don’t think we were alone - the couple next to use left even more of their entree than we did and we only had a few bites.
My waitress said hi and then took 30 minutes to bring water. After she bought the sparkling water to us she then turned around 5 minutes later and poured tap water in my womans cup while there was a bottle of perrier staring her in the face and plenty bubbles coming out my womans cup. We looked at her like she had six heads and she walked away...then popped up with a complimentary bottle. Also took a total of about 40 minutes for our drinks to arrive...she never put them in until my lady reminded her 30 minutes after we ordered them. The instructions Ieft for my anniversary dessert a week in advance and confirmed with the waitress once I got there were completely ignored even when I confirmed 2 times through dinner. Got a steak and no steak knife, bus boy had to bring it since she was gone with the wind. Finally dessert comes and she doesnt bring it out the bus boy does and it's not what I ordered so I sent it back. She comes back with the same dessert 10 minutes later like here ya go and I look at her with a look of dismay saying remember what I ordered with you several times...she goes yeh here it is it's the cake your girlfriend ordered. I said in front of my girlfriend I ordered a chocolate molten cake..a hot one not a cold one and it was supposed to have happy anniversary written on it and a candle...nothing too difficult. She looked stunned and walked away. Next a manager comes out and brings champagne and apologized and says we should have the cake it will be on the house. Literally 30 minutes later the waitress comes back and says so do you want the check and my lady says no we were under the impression that a dessert was coming...I assume my gf still wanted it hoping it would come as I described it for our anniversary and the waitress goes hmmm we have little complimentary mini bites they are like chocolate little muffins. At this poi t I said bring us the cake we were offered by the manager. Manager comes later with cold cake that has a cand
Very nice place, chill vibe in the main room by the bar. Food was excellent, we had the lobster for two over fra diavolo and the filet mignon for entrees. Excellent. Would def recommend to a friend and we will be coming back
The food was excellent but the service was very slow especially for half the tables being empty. We felt very rushed towards the end to catch our show, which you would think the waitstaff would understand.
Our waitress was outstanding, she was friendly, professional and joy to have around. The food was excellent, it was first trying steak tartare and it was great, the Ora Salmon was tender and tasteful. The chocolate cake with pistachio ice cream made the whole meal complete. We will definitely be back.
We went to celebrate Valentine’s Day and it didn’t disappoint
Fine service; great seafood selection. Delicious. A favorite in the theatre district.
Great food and convenient location for pre-theatre dinner.
After theatre meal. Restaurant not very crowded. We waited at hostess stand downstairs and were told rather rudely we should go to hostess stand upstairs. Beautiful decor and we had a nice table. First greet was reasonably prompt. Cocktail service very slow. Waiter was polite but certainly not friendly. First course Edamame was good. Chilean sea bass, Recommended by waiter, was too salty to eat. Whole bottle of Soy. I never send food back but I did. Lobster Bisque as replacement was good but not exceptional.
Reconnecting with friends after 40 years! Needed a place that was quiet and away from others. I had made the reservation about two weeks prior but called the day before to iron out specifics. Your staff was wonderful, the food, as always, delicious and the service was excellent.
Thanks so much for making our evening special!
This place is a real bright spot if you need to be right in Times Square. They use to have the corner, ground floor bar but that has been walled off and now belongs to the adjacent Dos Caminos. That means Blue Fin is easy to miss which is too bad because the food and ambiance are fantastic. I've been here several times and the food this last time was better than I remember. For moderately priced seafood and a big menu with many options, I love this place.
What a great meal from beginning to end!!! The new bartender (it was her first day) was lovely and made great cocktails and our waiter was super nice and very attentive! We had play tickets and he planned it out so we finished in time with no need to rush. Would def recommend and go back again!
Fresh, high-quality and delicious seafood, imaginative recipes, and outstanding service. Our waiter was the best ever!
Elegant fine dining in Times Square
Great table provided by hostess. Wonderful friendly service. Awesome scallops and rigatoni dishes. Cookies with ice cream was great option for dessert. Would definitely come back.
Excellent brunch. Great value. Welcoming and attentive service.
We always eat at Blue Fin when in NYC for a show. As always, it did not disappoint. The food was fantastic and the service was amazing. We find the prices to be very reasonable for Times Square. We were celebrating my sons 11th birthday and they brought him two huge homemade chocolate chip cookies, and hitch made his day. We will be back again next time in NYC.
Absolutely adored this place!
Everything was phenomenal!!!
Pre theater dinner. Always enjoy dinner there but is always noisy
Blue Fin was a wonderful surprise. The food was good, fresh, and served in a timely fashion as we had a play to see. The staff was professional, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and able to make GREAT suggestions from the restaurant week menu.
It is not a bad place considering location. Everything in this area is a tourist trap, and overpriced. So it was decent for being 2 blocks from the theater.
Went for restaurant week. Value for the money was ok. Food was fine, not great but can't say much negative either.
Working in the city i generally try to avoid anything in this area. But if you need to be in this area then it would be a reasonable option
I have been to Blue Fin many times as my "go to" restaurant pre-theater. This visit the quality of the food was not up to their regular high level. My tuna tartare appetizer was not well spiced and my sushi was not great.
NYC restaurant week pre fix was good.
Excellent service and food. A real find in Times Square.
Such a convenient spot near the theater district. Great service and ambiance. We were there for restaurant week so value was very good. Great for that City experience without going over the top. Fun decor and fish and meat and sushi so selection is good. Drinks expensive so avoid that. Would go again.
Quality of food during restaurant week was very disappointing. The sushi didn’t even taste fresh, expected more. The service felt disorganized.
I was in the mood to have sashimi by myself in the bar, and it worked out great. I got seated at a roomy booth across from the sushi station. The sashimi arrived fast, and the waiter was attentive without being overbearing. I appreciated the ease. Thanks for a lovely solo lunch!
