Blue Fin - New York

Ambiance is fantastic. Beautiful modern interior. The beet salad was very good. The rolls were ok (spicy tuna roll and spicy crab roll). We’ve had better. The restaurant is called Blue Fin, so maybe expectations were too high. We ordered 3 pieces of toro-it never showed up, but at least we were not charged.
Diners be warned, be specific about ordering wine. The menu lists a sancere by the glass for $15. We ordered two glasses of house sancere, assuming it was this sancere, which is a fairly standard practice. When we got the bill the sancere served to us was $25 a glass. Would have been nice if our server had made it clear that the wine he was bringing was $25 a glass not $15. If it was a couple $ more, who cares, but $10 more was a bit obnoxious.
Food was good but the service mediocre and the prices definitely tourist markup.
It was expensive for two people but it was well worth it
mixed review, the staff was truly amazing especially our server Amine, he truly is an asset to your restaurant. Every interaction w/ every server & front desk was excellent! They also were excellent on time, as we were between shows, Only complaint, was my chicken was dry as hell, I ate it regardless. The food overall is good, but not great!
However I do recommend this place, as my dinner date enjoyed everything!
Ordered a bottle of wine. Waited over 20 minutes before the waiter came back to tell us they did not have it. Ordered the oysters (east coast/west coast). 2 of the 6 came out dry. Not sure if they had been sitting out. I should have sent them back, but did not. Not a good job of shucking either. Most still attached heavily in the shell. Chefs chirashi bowl was ok, although the eel was not cut well (way too big and thick)
Once again great food and great service equaled a fantastic meal. Well be back again.
Andrew was the best waiter ever!
Brunch is consistently good.
Excellent restaurant right in the theatre district. We had the sea bass and the seafood hot pot. They we're cooked to perfection. We got in and out in time for our show and never felt rushed at all. Wonderful place.
Overpriced and pretty bad value. Basically a tourist oriented dining facility offered in the center of Times Square. There are numerous better values for fine dining that are more resonably priced within two blocks.
Great decor, helpful and attentive staff, intimate setting with AWESOME food? Can’t wait to go back.
My wife and I did Valentine's day but stayed on the regular menu. Shrimp Wonton very taste, the beet salad was fresh, both fish dishes were delicious, sea bass and halibut cooked to perfection. The only issue was the service. Never asked how the food was, had to ask another waiter for water, she forgot my oysters and never came back with my wife's cocktail.
Cappuccino was well prepared, the pear sorbet was perfect. The brulee should not be chocolate with fruit. Tasted like regular pudding.
Need to clean the tables better, top and sides were slightly sticky. First round of water glasses had prints and grime. Staff should look at what is being set up for the next costumer.
Thank goodness the food was delicious.
A very delicious dining experience with lovely ambiance and wonderful service all in the heart of the Times Square area.
Excellent food and service. Definitively a good experience. If you have questions because other reviews my recommendation is just go there. You will enjoy it as much as my wife and I did it.
Food was excellent and so was the ambiance
Very good food and good wine. Good place to celebrate Valentine’s day. People are cheerful here.
The service was outstanding and ambience was great!
They sat us at a 2 foot round table. It was tiny. Had absolutely no room
Seemed very overpriced for the food quality
Sea bass was delicious....small portion. Lobster bisque was great. Very small table. Valentine’s Day a little hectic
Wonderful evening! We were greeted so warmly by the hosts and waitstaff. Our server gave us some wonderful suggestions for wine to pair with our entrees. It made a special Valentine's Day for us!
4:45pm reservation worked great, albeit earlier than normal for us. They put the two of us in a big booth against the wall with a great view of the upstairs and bar, and nobody within earshot. The service was great as was the food and drinks!
Easy dinner option prior to going to the theater.
Had a couple 🍣 rolls which were good. A bit overpriced for what it was but I am sure that has more to do with the location than anything.
I have been there numerous times and it doesn't disappoint me:)
great breakfast!! Coffee is amazing this is coming from a coffee snob
Good food, great atmosphere. Enjoyed the drinks and the waiter was courteous.
Had a reservation at 6:30, showed up a bit early (6pm). They couldn’t seat us yet, which was no big deal, we sat at the bar. Then it’s 6:45 and I had to go ask the hostess about our reservation. I could tell she forgot about us and she said she would come get us when it’s ready. She comes over 5 min later and says she has a table downstairs. Probably one of the worst tables in the restaurant, shoved in a back corner by an exit behind the sushi bar. Server was not very attentive, we had to flag him down to give him our bill. The food was excellent, but that’s the only good thing I can say.
Waiter was excellent. Would like to see one or two more chicken/pork items but they are great as advertised.
Excellent everything.. Brent is your best server!!
Went to Blue Fin for dinner before seeing Lion King. Our Server Patrick was terrible. Everything took forever from drinks to entries. I had a lobster that was overcooked. When I asked for more clarified butter it took forever to come out. I was finished with the lobster by the time it was delivered. Patrick never came by to see if things were ok. Went to use the restroom after dinner to wash up and it was a nasty mess. Only one urinal and that was clogged and two toilets that were a mess. The fixtures are stainless steel, looks like a prison cell bathroom!!! Sink area was a mess as well. Pretty nasty for a place that charges so much. Would never go back or recommend. Save your money go to Oceana!
Amazing menu, staff and overall experience. Will visit Blue Fin once again!
Excellent food and service
Food and service were great however portions were small
Food, service, and atmosphere were each amazing! Right in Times Square! Definitely recommend the Truffle Rainbow Roll!
Excellent waiter service during restaurant week.
We had a great experience at Blue Fin. Our server was great!
Came for restaurant week and everything was excellent. The service was exceptional. We didn’t feel rushed and yet were able to get to our Broadway show with time to spare.
Would definitely return.
i have been going to Blue Fin for breakfast for a few years. Most of the time, i order egg dishes and they are great. This time, i decide to order to French Toast, the dish come out beautifully presented, however, when i cut into it, it was mushy. it was very sweet. I only took a few bites. They charge $17 for it. I will not order that dish again.
I will stay with the egg dishes.
Had a great time, food was awesome, service great
