Excellent food and service. Definitively a good experience. If you have questions because other reviews my recommendation is just go there. You will enjoy it as much as my wife and I did it.
Very good food and good wine. Good place to celebrate Valentine’s day. People are cheerful here.
Easy dinner option prior to going to the theater.
I have been there numerous times and it doesn't disappoint me:)
great breakfast!! Coffee is amazing this is coming from a coffee snob
Good food, great atmosphere. Enjoyed the drinks and the waiter was courteous.
Had a reservation at 6:30, showed up a bit early (6pm). They couldn’t seat us yet, which was no big deal, we sat at the bar. Then it’s 6:45 and I had to go ask the hostess about our reservation. I could tell she forgot about us and she said she would come get us when it’s ready. She comes over 5 min later and says she has a table downstairs. Probably one of the worst tables in the restaurant, shoved in a back corner by an exit behind the sushi bar. Server was not very attentive, we had to flag him down to give him our bill. The food was excellent, but that’s the only good thing I can say.
Waiter was excellent. Would like to see one or two more chicken/pork items but they are great as advertised.
Excellent everything.. Brent is your best server!!
Went to Blue Fin for dinner before seeing Lion King. Our Server Patrick was terrible. Everything took forever from drinks to entries. I had a lobster that was overcooked. When I asked for more clarified butter it took forever to come out. I was finished with the lobster by the time it was delivered. Patrick never came by to see if things were ok. Went to use the restroom after dinner to wash up and it was a nasty mess. Only one urinal and that was clogged and two toilets that were a mess. The fixtures are stainless steel, looks like a prison cell bathroom!!! Sink area was a mess as well. Pretty nasty for a place that charges so much. Would never go back or recommend. Save your money go to Oceana!
Amazing menu, staff and overall experience. Will visit Blue Fin once again!
Excellent food and service
Food and service were great however portions were small
Food, service, and atmosphere were each amazing! Right in Times Square! Definitely recommend the Truffle Rainbow Roll!
Excellent waiter service during restaurant week.
We had a great experience at Blue Fin. Our server was great!
Came for restaurant week and everything was excellent. The service was exceptional. We didn’t feel rushed and yet were able to get to our Broadway show with time to spare.
Would definitely return.
i have been going to Blue Fin for breakfast for a few years. Most of the time, i order egg dishes and they are great. This time, i decide to order to French Toast, the dish come out beautifully presented, however, when i cut into it, it was mushy. it was very sweet. I only took a few bites. They charge $17 for it. I will not order that dish again.
I will stay with the egg dishes.
Had a great time, food was awesome, service great
We experienced top level service; the waiters were very friendly and always anticipated our wishes. The food was excellent; perfectly cooked and seasoned. Since the restaurant is rather big, it got a little loud because there were so many guests (which speaks for the quality!) but therefore maybe not the perfect place for a very romantic, quiet date.. However, for any other occations it seems perfect to me.
It was a good experience. The service was so so. We were a party of 5 and ordered very simple. But things all came at different times. It was pretty loud the waitress couldn't hear us or she just ignored us. I asked for a celebration of me and my brother's birthday (candle on the dessert) and nothing came. It was sad because we rarely see each other and felt this was a great place to celebrate it. We tipped very well but did it because it's the correct thing to do but not for the service. I had very high hopes for this restaurant.
good pre theater spot. service is attentive and friendly. seafood focus menu and lots of interesting cocktails.
Wonderful place for pre-theatre dining in the Times Square culinary desert. Blue Fin does not disappoint.
Dinner began with a kind and genuine welcome and service throughout our meal was prompt, professional and friendly. One of us had sushi and the spring rolls and the other the RestaurantWeek “Surf and Turf” which was delicious. The grilled shrimp were fresh and the steak tender and flavorful. The chocolate mousse dessert was simply outrageously good.
Unlike many area restaurants, Blue Fin is spacious and comfortable while the sounds level is conducive to conversation.
Of course we were taking advantage of the delicious winter '19 Restaurant Week menu however we enjoyed incredible fresh east and west coast oysters from the raw bar and some wonderful cocktails. The food is delicate and delicious and exposed us to flavors we had never tried before like Lotus Root as well as mushroom encrusted cod. Excellent! Our server was a real delight as well friendly and attentive.
It was my birthday and we came in for restaurant week. The waiter was very polite and even wished me a happy birthday. He offered a taste of 2 wines that he recommended and his recommendation was delicious. All the food was great! They wrote Happy Birthday on my dessert plate in chocolate and brought it a candle. The food was all delicious although my appetizer was a bit too spicy for me. I ate it anyway because it was delicious before the spicy kicked in lol. I also had pickled lotus root which I didn't even know was something you could eat. Gotta love trying new things!
My recommendation is to go for a late lunch. Otherwise you and your companions will not be able to hold a conversation. Yes, it is that noisy.
The food, butternut squash soup appetizer and salmon entree, was tasty and satisfying. Malbec from Argentina also delicious.
Service was attentive but not obtrusive.
We wanted to try this restaurant before going to a matinee show. It was quite crowded, but it was lunch time, in Times Sq and during restaurant week! We were happy to be seated in a more quiet place, but next to a staff station. The food was good. It looked like a popular place.
It was very busy and there was a business gathering which caused the normal service to be a little lacking but the food was great!
I participated in the restaurant week menu and had the sushi w/ salmon & shrimp appetizer, then for my entree the surf & turf - however the turf was over cooked and hard on the outside. A lot of it was well done when t should’ve been served medium well. Was never asked by my server how i wanted my turf cooked either - not okay. It was not my favorite part of the entree. The dessert was nice - had the carrot cheesecake! Would definitely dine there just request my steak made how I would want to eat it and not how someone else thinks it should be served.
Excellent food and service
Would come again
What a difference a waiter makes!! Love this restaurant, was there twice this week. Great food. Monday night I had a great waitress. On Tuesday night, I had an awful waiter. Gave and charged me for a large water that I DID NOT ORDER!! When I told him I didn't order that water, he said yes you did and THEN opened it.
Kendra was awesome and Stevie (front of house) greeted us at the table, made us feel welcomed, not just another customer. Very professionally run restaurant!
We have been here a number of times and love it. It's well worth the price. From raw bar and sushi to hot entres you can't really go wrong.
We went to Blue Fin pre-theater and it was wonderful. We chose from the special restaurant week menu and portions were ample and the choices were sufficient. I had the salmon which was delicious!
Always good food and service Great location. Near most of the shows. Just a good place that you can count on.
In the heart of Times Square, there's a general feeling of cookie cutter/chain restaurants. You don't get that feeling with Blue Fin. It's not just a sushi restaurant as it has a raw seafood bar and seafood entrees. The food is good, the service is fine, as expected, and the ambiance is decent--not too loud or crowded on a Monday night. It's worth a night out to try it if you're staying right there.
Chose this restaurant because it was in the theatre district and close to the show we were seeing. It’s a beautiful space but the food was only ok. Both my shrimp and my friends filet were over cooked. My friend took one bite of her filet and said it was dry and had no flavor. Told our waitress that she wasn’t happy with it. They did offer to make another one but we didn’t have the time to wait for it. Was a little surprised that they didn’t take it off the check. Instead choosing to comp a glass of wine and a seltzer. Paid $52 for one bite of a flavorless meal. With so many great restaurants in NYC I would not go back here.
We came to Blue Fin and enjoyed the restaurant week price fixe menu. The Bao Bun appetizer was absolutely delicious, and the Salmon entree was incredible. We’re very pleased and satisfied after our meal.
We ordered an item from the menu but received the special. We were late heading to a show so we ate it away. It was delicious and somewhat similar to what we originally ordered with the exception that we had roasted beets instead of figs. Either way we enjoyed ourselves and they allowed us to get to our show on time. Next time I may schedule more time to leave the area and try a different restaurant and still get to the show on time.
I have been to Blue Fin many times. The food is always good and this trip was no exception. They are well versed in the pre theatre dinner and get you in and out without feeling rushed. While we had show tickets we did not mention it because we were eating 2 hours before the show. It took forever for our waiter to come over and then there was a long delay before he came back, took our drink order and disappeared. Finally our wine arrived. All around us tables had bread despite asking several times we got none. Our food was delayed. Our water often empty. Getting a second glass of wine a struggle. Our waiter had zero support. Three times we saw him ask someone to bring us bread. Zero response. He finally got it while we were finishing. We spoke to a manager who did nothing. It was not the waiter but there should have been some acknowledgement of the lack of service. Dessert? Comp one glass of wine? Instead we were left bewildered and unsatisfied. Despite our 6pm seating we did not leave until 7:50. Luckily we are New Yorkers and were able to get to theater in time but that was really bad service for a pricey restaurant.
