Blue Elk Vineyard
We offer wines by the flight, glass, and bottle. Patriot, our Bordeaux-style blend, is sure to impress. With a touch of Carmine Franc, Patriot is a deep full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot blend. Blushing Elk Rose is unique to our tasting room, made from ripe Chambourcin grapes, fruity and spicy. Our whites range from an Oaked 2017 Chardonnay to our Velvet, a Muscat Valvin/Riesling blend. Not a wine lover? We have a crisp craft hard cider, Prospector, named after the Gold Rush apple it is made from. Hungry? Charcuterie boards are sure to please!
Blue Elk Vineyard, worth the drive.

We celebrated our twin daughters birthdays over the weekend. It was a beautiful venue with great service. The bugle wine is our favorite. Wonderful day!
They sat us in a booth, old horse stall, for two.
The food and wine were very good.
They had music but it was decent and not to loud.
Well worth the short drive through the country and it sits right on the water
Nothing but wine or water or sodas to drink. There were food items not on the menu which our server didn't tell us about, grrr! we got buffalo wing pizza that was very spicy, even for me!
The winery has good ambience indoors in the barn. The wine and food were great. Will be back.
Wonderful winery with delicious wine and beautiful views. The bar area was uniquely decorated and we loved how they transformed the old horse stalls into individual table areas. Great experience.
A unexpected beautiful vineyard tucked away along the Chesapeake Bay water front. Everyone in our party enjoyed the surrounding as well as the cheese platter and flatbread. Set some time aside to walk around the property for views of the beach, the tree swings, and the vineyard. It won't be long before we return.
The selection of food paired well with the wines offered and was well sized.
We had a great experience!
What a fabulous place! The barn stall design makes you feel like your having your own private wine tasting. The wines were all good and the flatbreads were delicious. Our server, Kelly, was friendly and solicitous. We had a great visit. I’ll be back!
We enjoyed our visit on Saturday! Loved the wine, music, service and ambiance....it was our first visit but won’t be our last!!
Had a great afternoon. We tried the wine flights and all were good. Got the charcuterie tray. The server actually came back amd mentioned that she saw I was listed as gluten free on open table and offered some more Parmesan crisps on the plate instead of crackers. Had a great acoustic guitar player. Great atmosphere. Would definitely go again. Long drive but worth it.
Very nice winery with beautiful scenery, friendly staff and good wine! Highly recommend!
Another lovely visit at the vineyard!
Fabulous vista, wonderful food, and the local wines are exceptional. The staff was outstanding, providing a COVID safe environment and excellent client .
Blue Elk Vineyard is a beautiful place on the scenic Elk River. The tasting room is a renovated old horse barn and there are several other buildings on the property. We enjoyed our wine in one of the stables. We had bottle of the Lakota, a Chambourcin/Merlot blend. It is a very good red wine. We would have liked to try some of their other wines, but thought the tastings were a little pricey. If you go, take the time to walk around the grounds and enjoy the scenery.
Absolutely gorgeous day. Sat outside and it felt safe and socially distanced. Tables had flowers and the whole setup was very cute! cheese board was fantastic (as always). Got the white wine flight and it was mostly sweet, I definitely prefer dry whites so I should have opted for a glass of wine instead. Waitress was fantastic, service was quick! Took a walk down to the water for a beautiful view. Loved our time here
Great for tasting wine and lite fare! Will definitely go again!
Thank you Teri! We look forward to having you back and warmer weather.
First time this weekend. Will definitely be back. 🍷
Kris, thank you very much. We can't wait to see you again!
Everything was great. Would have enjoyed more of a variety of food besides flatbreads.
Hello Sabrina, thank you for your comment. Please help us improve. What types of food were you. hoping to have at our winery? I look forward to your response. Sincerely, Denise
This was our first time at Blue Elk. It was a busy Sunday afternoon but they still were able to accommodate our group. Or three couples enjoyed delicious flatbreads, great live music and excellent local wine. We would highly recommend!
Spent a wonderful afternoon with some friends at the Blue Elk Vineyard. Our group was impressed with the establishment and plan to return.
If you haven’t been to Blue Elk yet, go! We has reservations in a very cool private area which use to be a horse stall. Service, food, and drinks were amazing.
Thank you Tanya! What a wonderful review! With warmer weather coming, we can't wait to have our outdoor seating as well! Hope to see you soon.
We had a wonderful wine-tasting experience on a snowy day. Really enjoyed the live music!
Thank you so much and we look forward to seeing you back real soon! With out the snow:)
Blue Elk Vineyard is a beautiful venue. Very friendly staff. Food was great.
Nice array of wines; solid appetizers, and outstanding staff. Comfortable rural ambiance, surprisingly private, and quiet.
Nice near-Valentine surprise of roses for my fiancée.
What an amazing gem! Great location awesome views. The homes that are on the property would be an amazing Airbnb. Especially the beach cottage! I would love to wake up to that view every morning drink some coffee walk-up to the stables have some wine and food and take a few bottles of the Patriot back down to the blue cottage and watch the sunset and listen to the water crashing. Love this place! My wife and I excited to see what they do for the summertime. Highly recommended! Great job!
We enjoyed visiting the tasting room in a converted horse stall. We each ordered a wine fight and a flatbread. It’s a beautiful venue and the service was great.
Loved our private area in the barn! Perfect place to enjoy wine, food and live music!
We had a great time. The place is perfect for social distancing since you sit in your own stall with just your party. It was a tad pricey compared to other wineries we have visited. The tastings were all $20 or over....
Unique barn setting located on a beautiful farm overlooking the water. Food and wine were very good. Live music was great! Staff was very friendly, however, service was a bit slow. I felt they could use an additional server or two. Prices, especially for a flight, were a little high. Overall though, it was a good experience.
This is a beautiful venue! The staff are very sweet and accommodating. The downside is this is not a place for those who do not know their wine. The prices for flights and even a glass are too high compared to just buying a bottle. Its better suited for groups of people to help with the cost. Food was great and it's definitely a different approach to a winery setting.
Thank you for taking the time to review Blue ELk Vineyard. Your comments are appreciated. Sincerely, BEV
The ambiance and service was amazing. If you enjoy wines on a sweeter side this place would be perfect for you. However of all the wines we tasted the only one we really enjoyed was the Chardonnay Reserve, which had buttery notes. While not our place because of wines tastes, I’d suggest trying if you like sweeter wines
Thank you for taking the time to review Blue Elk Vineyard and the positeve comments. I am sorry you didn't enjoy our wines. If you do make it back, one of our tasting room assistants can help you pick wines on the dryer side from our menu. Sincerely, BEV
Great place! We will definitely be back
I had a fantastic experience for my 2nd visit here. I had emailed ahead because I knew what we liked and I wanted some things set immediately so nobody would have to wait and they accommodated me. The stables converted into rooms are very warm and intimate. The staff of very accommodating and we didn’t realize they had closed but we weren’t even made aware of until I had noticed the time and kicked ourselves out.
Thank you so much for your 5 star review! It is much appreciated! We hope to see you again. Sincerely, BEV
Highly recommend for a much more quiet and intimate environment. Great wine , great flat breads and an amazing guitarist created an calm and relaxed atmosphere which is perfect for deep conversations and “peace & quite ” from real life 😂. Definitely going back again. Also , staff was AMAZING all the way around .
Thank you very much for your 5 star review. It is very much appreciated! We hope to see you again! Sincerely, BEV
Nice winery. Worth a visit. Grounds are beautiful.
A great winery! This was our first visit and we were very impressed. Sitting in a renovated horse stable was very cool. The wine was very good as was the flatbread. The only request would be to have more comfortable seating. We will be back!
Great experience! Highly recommend
Very beautiful location and the wine was delicious. There was live music when we were there which was a very nice addition. Flatbreads and cheese boards were great as well.
Blue Elk Vineyard is such a perfect location, nicely designed tasting room with plenty of space and very family friendly. We went for the Sip & Shop event to donate to Toys for Tots and of course to see Santa! The staff was energetic, friendly and very accommodating. The wines & cheeses were delicious! We got lucky with a 60 degree December day and got to enjoy the property and gorgeous weather! This will be a regular wine stop for us <3
I like the music and outside seating. Not sure about how I would enjoy the private inside seating. Two out of my three red blend tastings were very good, although $28 for a bottle of wine seems a bit high to me. I will be going back as long as there is music or an event there, but not just to sit to enjoy wine.
