Winery
Blue Elk Vineyard, just outside the quaint town of North East, MD and on the shore of the Elk River. The tasting room, in stables of our original horse barn built in the early 1930's, cozy and rustic. Having your own personal stall to enjoy our wines in makes for a private experience. We are pet friendly as well! If weather allows, outdoor seating is on the lawn overlooking the 140 acres of our estate.
We offer wines by the flight, glass and bottle. Patriot, our Bordeaux-style blend, is sure to impress you. With a touch of Carmine Franc, Patriot is a deep full-bodied, Cabernet Sauvingnon, Cabernet Franc & Merlot blend. Blushing Elk Rose is unique to our tasting room, made from ripe Chambourcin grapes, fruity and spicy. Our whites, range from an Oaked 2017 Chardonnay to our Velvet, a Muscat/Reisling blend. Not a wine lover, we have a crisp, hard cider, Prospector, named after the Gold Rush apple it is made from. Charcuterie boards are sure to please!
Blue Elk Vineyard, worth the drive.

Gorgeous venue. Very intimate and safe. The flatbread and cheese tray we ordered were a perfect pairing with the delicious wine. Such a lovely experience during such a hard time.

We visited Blue Elk for the first time last week. We were quite pleased with the whole experience. The service and wine were great. The set up is unlike any winery I’ve visited with the individual seating in stables. We will be back again soon.

I was married at this property in early 2018- the new owners were so personable and committing to giving us such a special day. When we found out the winery had opened, we were so excited.

We were not disappointed. I was able to bring my parents, they had outdoor tables spaced out so that we all felt safe. There was a great acoustic singer, great wine, great cheese. Just a really, really nice day. The owner remembered us (how does she do that!!??) and I got to meet her family as well.

It is just a really special property, a really special family and a beautiful location to spend time sipping wine, listening to music and looking at an amazing view. So glad to see they are thriving during these crazy times. Looking forward to many years of sitting in front of that beautiful barn and farmhouse!
