Went for my sister’s birthday. Overall it was a super great experience. I wish the space wasn’t quite so noisy, but I guess that’s to be expected when the physical space is small. The food was delicious!!!! Some of the portions were on the smaller side, I’ve definitely been to other tapas-style places that have a little more per plate. Most plates were really only meant to be shared by two people. We definitely ate tons and got our fill tho!
Props to our waiter for picking out some really great Sake for us!
I just started working in this area and Blue Dragon has jumped up to the very top of my favorites list. The food is amazing and they have something for everyone. I have dietary restrictions and the staff is always extremely helpful and knowledgeable when handling my specific requests. The environment is great and the food rules. Great place for lunch or dinner!
Never disappoints! Took my husband for his 60Th and he can now check off meeting Ming Tsai (who is incredibly kind and generous to indulge us).
Food was amazing! We loved the Dan Dan Noodles, lamb ribs, and the the variety of wontons!
Disappointed! Just overly salty on everything, especially Dan Dan noodle, just like a salt lick for horses. Over priced too... some flies were always around our table. Won’t go back again. Panda Express has better food!
Excellent food. Hats off to Ming Tsai. Every dish and drink we had was very flavorful and creative!
Everything from food to service to ambiance to drinks were average. Nothing exceptional or memorable.
Ming Tsai clearly doesn’t care anymore, at least about his restaurant. Food was disappointing to say the least. Myers and Chang does it MUCH better.
This is our first time having Asian cuisine since our son was diagnosed with a peanut allergy. I cannot tell you how relieved we were to find that the kitchen is nut free, so we were able to truly relax and enjoy our delicious meal. The staff were great, especially Helen. She was very accommodating and even gave our son crayons and a picture to color while we waited for our food. The food was some of the best Asian cuisine we have ever had! The duck fried rice is my new favorite dish! Cannot wait to go back here again!
I treated a friend to Blue Dragon for birthday. It is definitely NOT the place to go for conversation as the decibel levels were through the roof. We gave up on conversation so we could dig into some fabulous food. We shared the fried chicken, which was moist and incredibly good. It was also a whole chicken so at $28 a pop not bad since we shared it and took home enough for another meal. The other standout was the hot cookie with the gooey chocolate chips that came in a pan with ice cream on top. Divine. If you go, I highly recommend that you save room for this dessert as it must be consumed while warm. We were stuffed and only meant to take a bite but quickly devoured the entire thing and wrestled each other for the last bite.
The volume was extremely loud. It’s difficult to have a conversation.
Really good service and interesting decor. Wines were RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. The food tasted mostly okay but everything was drenched in oil. It’s like the number one ingredient in every dish. The food at Blue Ginger was a lot better than this. Not going back.
The food flavors were very disappointing given this is Ming Tsai's restaurant. Sweet potato chips and "jus" dip tasted like old fashioned onion soup and sour cream dip. Kung Pao asparagus just tasted like some tamari or soy sauce was thrown on top of steamed asparagus. The shumai and BBQ pork dumplings were good. Overall though, sorry to say, I wouldn't return.
We went for dine out Boston. The food was pretty good, but extremely salty. I wish there was a bit more variation in the flavors. The dessert cookie was delicious! The restaurant itself has a very cool vibe, and it was pretty crowded on the Tuesday night we went. The service staff seemed a touch overwhelmed. Overall, it was okay, but not somewhere I would necessarily go again.
The food was good and I'd come back if I was in the area. The staff were attentive, the restaurant had an energetic vibe and I really enjoyed my cocktail. It's a great place to come with a small group of friends. I gave four stars because I just wasn't blown away by the food. It was great quality, and certainly above average, but it didn't rise to the level of 5 star awesomeness.
We went for Dine Out Boston and lunch was great, but service was abysmal.
Disappointed in the menu. It’s not what small plates can be. It overwhelmingly designed to be bar food. There’s a difference. And offering only one oversized dessert just drives the point home.
Great Asian caprese salad. Nice ribs. Forgettable shumai.
Great food and service! Will definitely go back. We went for dine out week and it was a great deal.
Food was generally bad : noodles are in fact pasta, served very dry with greasy sauce, other noodles soaked with soy sauce, rib super greasy with no side. Extremely disappointing!
The Sake Clam dish is amazing. I would love a few more clams in it, but the flavor is stellar. The lamb potstickers were really good as well. It had a nice combination of flavors.
Hip and relaxed atmosphere; attentive and informed staff; flavorful, good portioned dishes (please add steak and cheese Rangoon special to permanent menu!!); tasty whimsical cocktails (even for the kids)
More importantly, the opportunity to dine without allergy anxiety in a nut-free kitchen restaurant was PRICELESS. Thank you ❤️
I was expecting it to be noisy, and it was, but not so much that you couldn't have a conversation (on a Friday evening). The pork belly bao was delicious- a big, meaty, crispy piece of pork belly that was not mostly fat, with kim chee that really went well with it. The Dan Dan noodles were also delicious and a generous serving. The shrimp shui mai were lovely and delicate and we should have had them at the beginning rather than after the more assertive dishes. The cast iron pan chocolate chip cookie ala mode is an indulgent treat.
Tasty dishes you can share. Excellent wine list at attractive prices. Service was warm and friendly and on the button.
Great location and not your traditional Asian menu. The kitchen is peanut/nut free & my daughter loved it (she has allergies and Asian restaurants are usually not safe). The Poke bowls, crazy noodles were delicious.
Always a reat meal here. Wonderful that they now take reservations! Recommended
We just loved our evening at this restaurant. The food is spectacular; one dish more delicious than the next! Very original dishes and fabulous cocktails. A fun relaxing atmosphere, casual and not stuffy, but great for a special evening. Vibrant, but not too loud to talk. The staff went the extra mile in every way. We can't wait to return.
We were really excited about trying this menu, but were sadly disappointed. The amount of spicy oil that seemed to be used in the majority of dishes gave the food an off putting taste. Would still highly recommend the bao. I was more impressed with the gluten free menu, the teriyaki bison burger were decent. But the ratio of meat to fries was off. I would have preferred more of the bison to fries. But 2/3 of the meal was fries.
The food was okay. A little disappointing for a celebrity chef. The service was good, though.
We arrived early and was able to be seated. Wait staff was very nice. Food arrived quite quickly.
Choices were good, but very spicy.
The food was all creative and excellently prepared. One exception was Th garlic boy Choi that was a watery dud. The dessert is absolutely amazing. It lives up to the description. My only complaint is a common one for restaurants...the sound level was deafening at times, and we could not here people across the table. It may be most suited to young people used to loud, boisterous conversations.
Wonderful in every way.
We were looking forward to this experience, being a pbs fan. Decor & host was great, but runners seemed to toss/slam dishes down, and food seemed to all be premade. I’m glad we went, but don’t think I’d go back. Wine list was tough to navigate, and the recommendation was pricy, but not to expectations.
Appreciate their flexibility as we brought an extra person and they were nice to accommodate
High top seating can be uncomfortable without stools with backs.
Fabulous food, waitress was friendly and helped us with menu choices.
Very efficient - we were never rushed. thoroughly enjoyable dinner.
Ming has a way with his dishes. Salt and Pepper Shrimp are out of this world delicious. 👍👍👍👍👍
This was dinner with an out-of-town cousin. The service was leisurely as the place was hopping. The servers let us linger as long as we wanted, which was great. We shared some dim sum plates and a veggie side and saved room for the warm cookie dessert. It was a bit noisy but overall a great place and a lot of fun.
The food was delicious and Sarah our server created an awesome experience for us! Definitely recommend!
We enjoyed the cocktails and wine as well as the ambiance at Blue Dragon. We liked our dim sum and entrees but they were just ok. Of the 10 or so dishes we tried the best and most substantial were the Dan Dan noodles. The other dishes were ok but I had much higher expectations due to the Open Table reviews that I used as a reference.
Great food and great service! Staff is very allergy aware. Kitchen is nut free.
Good atmosphere, great food, amazing staff. Really enjoyed our time at Blue Dragon!
