We sampled an array of different dishes to split and everything was delicious. A quant little spot with a lot of character.
It is a very small restaurant with tight fitting tables. The food however is delicious and the service was great!
Wonderful Birthday dinner for my daughter!
I dine here at least once a month and have sent many people here. This is the first time I've had to remind a server to bring the drinks we ordered (twice, in fact). And, we felt as though they were rushing us. Food was still great, but I'll be keeping an eye on the service.
The food was incredible! Possibly the best meal I ever had. Beautiful representation and excellent drinks
Quaint but very small
Dinner was not hot.
My date is so hot
The ambiance was pleasant and the service excellent. Loved the food
We went back to Blue Dog because of a wonderful experience we had had n November 2018. What a HUGE disappointment this time around. The food was shockingly bad. Worst mussels and seafood pasta ever. Pistachio cheesecake was only redeeming factor and the server was friendly.
NO chicken and waffles due to broken waffle maker. Food was OK.
I recently had dinner with a friend at the New Blue Dog Cookhouse. The dinner itself was good, but we were annoyed with our service. The server was good once we were seated. However, a person at the table next to us dropped her mobile phone behind the seat and it took almost 30 minutes to retrieve it. We had to leave our seats while the staff worked to get the phone out from a narrow space. The staff on duty did not even consider moving us to a different location (there were a lot of empty tables), nor did they offer an apology for the inconvenience or even offer a drink. We considered the experience to be rude and it demonstrates that this restaurant does not treat its customers with respect. We will not go there again, nor recommend this restaurant to anyone who inquires.
Great little place close to the theatre with good food and service. Tiny but they make it work!
Small, cramped, community seating, noisy but good food.
The food was excellent the service was average overall ..room way too small ..felt congested...no ac..very hot...which made it uncomfortable...did not like where the restroom was..
Went with a group of 6 after a 2pm show. The food at New Blue Dog was INCREDIBLE!!! The fried calamari was so good, we had to order another! 3 of us ordered the Cheesus Christ, and again, fantastic! The wait staff was so nice and attentive. There is a big table in the middle, so you may be seated with strangers. It was a tight fit, and difficult for the waiters/customers to walk past us (we were right next to the bathroom), but everyone was very sweet and understanding. It got packed pretty quickly (arrived about 445pm), so I'd definitely suggest reservations! Would absolutely return!
The only issue we had was that it was hot and their A/C wasn’t working.
Tried several, but not a fan of various deviled eggs. Couldn’t you just make a plain version?
Burger was delicious!
Apparently, building HVAC broken (not restaurants fault), but alternative NOT WORKING. It was HOT out and various portable HVACs were running, but not cooling space down.
Food and service decent, but I wouldn’t return until I get notice that HVAC is repaired.
Welcoming, intimate, atmosphere and really good food. Perfect for my family of four, two adults and two teenagers, looking to relax quietly and have a good meal after a long day of sightseeing. Other patrons in the restaurant seemed to be a mix of tourists and locals. I had a salad and seafood pasta, both of which were excellent.
All good except high top tables are super small.
The service was excellent! The deviled eggs were basically hard boiled eggs with the yolk still in it and a fancy topping. They would have been better without the yolk. Everything thing else was great! Definitely try the short ribs!
Thought the food and service was excellent but it is definitely a small restaurant space.
It's worth getting cozy with other diners in this small space in order to enjoy the great food and creative drinks served in an atmosphere I'll call "Contemporary Prohibition". I highly recommend the Glen Coco - I had two - and if you like deviled eggs, taste a few of their spins on a classic. The Canadian Bacon & Chorizo deviled egg was fantastic! My companion enjoyed the Notorious D.O.G burger and I had the Braised Short Rib, which fell apart at the prodding of my fork - perfect tenderness!
I had such a wonderful time at this restaurant and very glad that I went there. It was well worth it, I was not expecting it but I was given a free meal for my birthday. I am very grateful for that. Thanks so much for great food and an awesome time.
Seating is a little cozy (meaning cramped) but they serve good upscale bar food and the service is good. We’ll be back.
Food was great. The restaurant is tiny and our high top table for 4 faced a wall so it was impossible to talk.
Very decent food an service in a neighborhood known for overpriced mediocrity in restaurants. Perfect spot for a casual dinner (burgers, salads etc) before a show.
Food was really delicious and fresh. A great breakfast is ofter hard to find in NYC. Come here!!!
I was looking for a vegetarian friendly place near the theatre district as I am vegetarian but my guests were not. This place fit the bill. The drinks were delicious and the food was amazing. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and were satisfied. I would go again and have a full dinner but it was nice to try out a lot of different menu items.
Great for a low-key business lunch. The tables were a little cramped, but the food was great and healthy, with plenty of options.
Good space and environment. Food good and service excellent .
This restaurant is basically one room with tables very close to each other. There was one very large group in the center seated at long connecting tables. The atmosphere was loud and lively. Having said that, the menu is great with lots of options for “healthier” eats. We opted to share a delicious vegetable quesadilla with steak and a light yet refreshing Niçoise salad. Definitely make a reservation and be prepared for a lot of noise.
Ore theater dinner. Very small place which is ok but a table for two is made into a table for three and we were stuck in a corner next to a large dehumidifier. One member of my party is on the stocky side and he had to sit at an uncomfortable angle. Took quite awhile before anyone acknowledged is for drinks. Then we ordered. Food was cold and fair. A diner does a better job of a burger then they do for much less cost. We wanted more drinks and no one bothered after we were served a crappy meal to even ask us.
I do not recommend this place at all. Get a hot dog from a vendor. You’re better off.
Food and drinks were great. Low key vibe for the area which is a nice find in midtown west!
Service was lacking and not very attentive. Never checked if we would like another round of drinks and didn’t check on how our meals were until we were halfway finished. Chicken was extremely dry, but the Sliders were delicious. Perhaps it was just a one off night, because the previous visit we did not have any issues.
Food and service was phenomenal!!!
Great service and a great menu. My food was hot and tasty.
Good burgers and appetizers and good service, but venue is small and tables are small so comfort level is minimal.
Very close to New World Stages theaters. Small space so reservations are recommended. Food is excellent. Drinks are excellent.
Smalll restaurant , cozy, extremely noisy. We couldn’t even hear ourselves talk. Food good, very busy, hard to get waiter. Would return and try again.
Good food and service. A little cramped, but not bad for NYC. Overall a very good breakfast. Eggs Benedict were excellent. The chicken and waffles were above average - the jalapeño infused maple syrup was just ok without much of a kick from the peppers.
