Food was great but tables were crammed together like pre COVID and it was jam packed. Did not feel very safe.
Awesome Burgers and Great Drinks! The Blue Dog is a hidden gem.
If you are going to show and the Blue Dog is in the area, don't overlook it.
The staff is outstanding and hardworking.
Wonderful food. Accommodating. Good for Gluten Free burgers. Unique atmosphere
We were early for our reservation, and were seated without hesitation. Servers were very attentive. Food was delicious and portions, generous. We'll be back. ;-)
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to The Blue Dog! The food and staff were wonderful. Thank you for the great experience!
Très très bien …..
Blue Dog was a real treat.
Our server, Oscar was great!
Great food and cute place for date night dinner before our show. Def would recommend and I’ll be back soon. One of the best burgers ever!
The atmosphere was lovely and it was an enjoyable place to dine. The manager came over several times to check on us and the waitstaff was very attentive. I would highly recommend this.
Adorable little hole in the wall with great ambience. Food was mediocre for the price.
Received a delicious, complimentary dessert when we said we were celebrating a birthday. VERY nice gesture on the restaurants part. Made us feel special. It's the little things. We'll be back! :)
Small space, close seating. Staff was very welcoming and helpful when it came to recommendations.
Great food and ambiance. Perfect place to grab dinner before a show. Will be returning.
I had a wonderful time and the food was fantastic! I would have definitely stayed longer only I had to catch a flight
Website implied social distancing was maintained inside the restaurant but it is not. Small lovely space but tables were basically on top of each other
I was so excited for our dinner but when we entered, our choices of seating was either beside the kitchen where people bumped us each time they passed, or at a long table in between two other families. Hardly what we bargained for. We left after five minutes.
I had never been to the restaurant before making a reservation for pre-theater dinner. My biggest surprise was how quaint and small it is, which is lovely in normal times but gave us pause in pandemic times. I felt nervous with the number of unmasked folks dining or drinking at the same time, even with the restaurant's policy requiring proof of vaccination status. Too late to cancel our plans and find another restaurant, but it bears mentioning the tight squeeze. Service was good and food was also very good, as was the holiday decorating and overall ambiance.
There were many seats available, we made reservations ahead of time and got out in the worst seat possible.
Food and service was good, but the website promised "socially distanced dining". The restaurant is very small and we were put at a long communal table in the center of the room. All around the table were other tables. There wasn't any room at all. We wore our masks until the food arrived and left before dessert. Pre-covid, it wouldn't have bothered me.
Excellent cuisine, lovely decor and enchanting ambiance. Highly recommend!
This hidden gem in Midtown is simply amazing! We had the best gourmet breakfast (must try the chicken and waffles with jalapeno maple syrup or the stuffed pumpkin cream cheese french toast!). We tried to go back for a second day but they didn't have any availability - reserve early - you won't regret it!
We felt uncomfortable with all the confusion over seating and menu items. We were told the bartender didn't know how to make drinks that were on the menu. We seemed to be in between shifts so we had different hostesses and waiters and bartenders not communicating. The website said dinner served at 4:30 then were told no dinner til 5:00. They did accommodate us at 4:00 with the dinner plates we ordered and told us the appetizer we wanted would not be ready til 5:00 because they had to prepare the octopus then we had to remind them about it and it had 2 little pieces of octopus in it! I had sea bass and the portion was small. The burgers were ok, but we should have had our drinks and then left to go somewhere else but it was cold and we had theater tixs. Overall disappointed. It was very uncomfortable and overpriced for food and service we received. The reviews were so good, but I would not go back or recommend this place when you have so many other options.
Great - Thank you
The Blue Dog was the perfect spot for our dinner before a Broadway show. Our reservation was at 5 pm and it gave us plenty of time to enjoy a spectacular meal and even dessert. The New York Strip was so tender, it could be cut with a butter knife. The Notorious D.O.G was raved about at our table. And, certainly, the gelato was delightful and the cinnamon churros were just so good. The wait staff was attentive and our glasses never emptied before they were refilled.
A handy spot near the Theater District, for burgers and simple entrees, and for drinks. Nice ambiance but a tight fit- perimeter tables and benches surround a long communal table in the center.
Lots of appetizers to choose from, but the main focus is on a variety of burgers, (Beef, salmon, chicken, veggie) some really good. Fries OK, Rosemary oil fries hardly had any special flavor for the upcharge.
Service is pleasant, but have to be gymnasts in the tight space. A bit harried by the Covid protocols.
Great food, amazing service, but really crowded. Our waiter was fabulous! Very intimate setting.
Amazing! Very cool, chill vibe with delicious food and fantastic service
Brunch was to die for!
Small, intimate setting. Was festive for Xmas. Menu had a nice combo of items, good for a family w some vegetarians. Highly recommended!
Great environment- kind of gives a modern speakeasy vibe mixed with modern food! Great use of a smaller space, never felt too loud or crowded. And AMAZING food!
Delicious food. Enjoyed the brunch options. Cozy atmosphere but very crowded. Seated many patrons, including my family, at one long table in the middle of the small restaurant. A bit to tight for my comfort level; difficult to have a conversation. Food was very fresh and well prepared.
Didn’t know about the community table seating. This was uncomfortable for me during a pandemic.
With reservations made over a week in advance, I had expected a table…also had to shift down seat to accommodate another party after we were settled.
The waiter was very friendly and efficient. Wish I could say that about the host, not displaying a customer service welcoming manner..
The food was good, could have been warmer. My lunch companion was very happy with the meal.
I enjoyed the food but not sure if I would return.
Food was good but the restaurant was very noisy. Service was ok.
We chose this restaurant because we needed to meet a friend for a late breakfast/early lunch in the mid- 50's. We had a reservation but had never been here. It was loud, crowded, mediocre food, and very disappointing. To be fair, the waitstaff did as well as they could, but the food was less than average, the coffee less than brown water and the menu uninspired. Convenient, but not the best dining experience.
Great breakfast place although it's a crowded setting so it's noisy. The staff couldn't be friendlier and more efficient. Highly recommend
On this cute little place a couple years ago and have gone back every year cents! Food and staff are amazing!
One our favorites and we were so happy to get back here. The food is delicious and the restaurant although small is so cozy. The staff is amazing and we’re already looking forward to the next time we get to go back.
Excellent place for brunch.
Fantastic food and good service. Very cramped (much like many NYC restaurants). Overall, we loved the Blue Dog!
Small and tight, but nice. You definitely need a reservation. Host was very accommodating.
