The food was amazing, sooo delicious! And the view was beautiful. I’m definitely coming back
We ordered the Bacon/Scallop appy which was delicious and our main the Surf & Turf platter with 6 ounce tenderloin, we enjoyed the Surf and Turf immensely, but in retrospect we could have skipped the appetizer as the S&T came with scallops. The steak was extremely tender and perfectly done, this is a very rich, filling entree.
For dessert I had the Maple Creme Brulee and my partner the Berry Crumble with ice cream, the creme brulee was wonderfully smooth, but the Crumble wasn't strong on flavour and was also light on ice cream.
For us this is definitely a special occasion meal.
Amazing view , food and service. Would recommend it to anyone
We took a friend for her birthday. Service was phenomenal. Spectacular Barbour views. Highly recommended.
We enjoyed a lovely quiet dining experience with great service, pleasant ambience and wonderfully fresh seafood creatively presented. We will be back.
The view is always perfect. The service is excellent. And the crab is the best in town!
Service was very good from the person who seated us to the waiter. Both were welcoming and friendly. The food was good but not perfect but I admit I had a filet and lobster.
Excellent food with good size portions. Very creative menu. Well worth the price.
Spectacular view, very friendly and accommodating server!
Nice quality ingredients. Service was slow, but the view was gorgeous. Would have liked to have had some bread while we waited. I am not a big seafood eater so was able to order the steak and lobster without the lobster. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the meat was very tender. The veggies were perfect. This was the second time this week we ate at the Blue crab. The first time was in the lounge. The lounge offers a broader menu. My son had a burger and I had crab cakes. We both had wings which were great. I would definitely go again.
Food was delicious but were disappointed with the portions
Blue Crab Seafood House is an essential "must" for travelers who enjoy quality seafood, steak and other "down menu" selections. There are no bad choices here, as everything is prepared with local ingredients and in-house care and charm.
Fantastic dinner. The crab cakes, ling cod dinner and paella were all perfectly cooked and the flavors were great. We will be back.
Food and atmosphere were awesome! Chauffeur after dinner to take us downtown made my night! Would definitely recommend!
Once we asked to move to a different table as the one we were first seated in was terrible the rest of the experience was absolutely amazing. The food was fantastic.
First time, through Dine Around Victoria program. We were so impressed that we booked another time in a couple of months.
Excellent food.
My husband and I enjoyed the $50 Dine Around experience. We had mussels, calamari, seafood paella and prawns & scallops on black forbidden rice. The dishes were beautifully presented, tasted to the point and were in generous proportion. The creme brule and chocolate raspberry tart finished off the meal perfectly. The server made us feel welcome. We left the restaurant thinking that my husband made a good choice.
The food was very good and the service attentive without being overbearing. The ambiance was very nice, but we thought it was just a bit pricey compared to similar dining spots.
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful meal with excellent and next level custom service.
We had an absolutely fantastic dinner. We did the Surf n Turf with the tenderloin, the meal did not disappoint at all. I would recommend this restaurant for any special occasion the ambiance is perfect and the view was quite beautiful.
The view is amazing and the service was great, but my ling cod for $40 seemed pricey. It was tasty, but didn't wow me. Apparently the beef ribs were delicious. Drinks are reasonably priced but the food seems high for Victoria.
Excellent set menu
As frequent visitors to Victoria we were excited to try a new restaurant and were hoping Blue Crab could be our new "go to". We enjoy fine dining and good service is important to us. Although we had made reservations well in advance and the restaurant was not crowded, we were seated against a back wall right in the path of server traffic and diners entering and exiting the restaurant. The waiter took our order, but then virtually ignored us in favor of the other tables in front of us. While watching multiple staff pass back and forth in front of us repeatedly attending to other guests (one table had no less than 3 staff attending to them), we had to flag someone down just to bring us more water. Thank goodness for Chris who responded to our plight, not only brought us what we needed (fresh drinks and our food), but offered to reseat us in front of the windows where we could at least enjoy the view and be out of the traffic. Our waiter didn't resurface again until it was time to bring the bill. Needless to say our cash tip went to Chris, along with a thank you for saving the evening (We actually left to get dessert elsewhere). The food was decent, views lovely, but greatly overshadowed by the poor treatment. Think twice before eating here, there are a myriad of choices in the area with excellent food AND tremendous service. Such a disappointment.😪
It was our early New Years dinner and we all thought it was fantastic
This was our second time here and we’ll be back again. Don’t let that it’s in a hotel dissuade you. This is a wonderful dining experience.
We visited Victoria for the holidays and of coarse a seafood dinner was at the top of our list. I chose this
restaurant as the ratings were high and I was not disappointed. 6 of us had the most wonderful seafood dinner!! Thank you and happy new year!
The kitchen decided to close early for brunch in anticipation for their special Christmas dinner... luckily I had booked brunch for my grandson daughter and myself... and the kitchen allowed us to order from their breakfast menu... so they honoured the reservation... it was our Christmas Day brunch... and I booked awhile ahead after reviewing their menu... in order to make sure my family from out of town could enjoy a vegetarian friendly Christmas brunch with me... the meal and service was great... although the server kept saying we were lucky that the kitchen served us... but we did nothing wrong by our reservation... so it felt a bit odd and somehow that it was our fault that they closed the kitchen and did not decide early enough to not accept reservations... so it had an odd overtone...
We dined at the Blue Crab Seafood House Dec 24th. We found the service outstanding and the food delicious. The view from the dining room is wonderful. The only fault that we found was that it was a little loud and difficult to hold a conversation at our table.
The Seafood and Crab Feast for Two was beyond amazing. Totally worth the money.
The steak and lobster was terrible. The lobster had bearnaise sauce yuk and the steak was covered with a wine reduction wanted just steak and lobster
Our server was Craig and he was fantastic. The food was delicious and exquisite (all crab all the time and the halibut). Next time I'm in Nanaimo I will be back.
I found the food okay but for the prices, I expected afar superior meal to what I received.
Absolutely delicious and our server was wonderful. The king crab we were served was amazing and our tenderloin steaks cut like butter. It's pricey, so we only go about once a year for dinner, but man, oh man, do we look forward to it and we've never been disappointed.
The food was excellent but the atmosphere was not romantic like the web sight said. Too noisy.
It was a bit chilly by the window
The food was mouthwatering and the services was excellent.
Generally a good place but didn't enjoy the snow crab as it is very difficult to get what little meat there is out of it and it is the most expensive item.
Waiter was great!
This was a special dinner - anniversary celebration. I chose this restaurant because it has been rated the best for seafood in Victoria. I fully concur! Everything about it was first class. It is expensive, but for special occasions like ours, it fit the bill perfectly. The food was outstanding! The setting, service and ambience were all in keeping.
Very good Seafood . The Scallops were exceptional & the veggies were perfectly cooked !!
Will go back in a heart beat.
Cheers
