Welcome to Blue Cat Steak & Wine Bar. We are located in the center of downtown Burlington in a little alley called Lawson Lane. In our cozy corner of the town we serve all Certified Angus Beef (CAB) steaks and a variety of fresh seafood and vegetarian options. We use local produce whenever possible and feature a rotating selection of Vermont cheeses. Our wine list contains three-hundred labels from all over the world with an emphasis on big, bold, steak-friendly wines. The proprietors, Mariasha and Ozzy Giral are always on site to help you find the perfect wine for any occasion. We hope to see you soon.

...and please keep in mind that we are available for private events of all sorts 7 days a week; we'll do the catering or bring in your favorite caterer.

The Blue Cat Cafe and Wine Bar is available for private functions of all sorts, from small, intimate events to parties of up to forty. We offer many options for food and drink and can procure many specialty items such as rare wines and high grade meats, as well as tailor our menu to meet a budget.

Parking details
Blue Cat Cafe & Wine Bar is the only downtown restaurant with on site, free parking. Our customers can park in the lot on Saint Paul/College Street. However, take heed; the lot is monitored by a towing company, and our customers must use a permit. Simply send a member of your party into the restaurant, and we will give you a temporary permit which will allow you to park for the evening.

My wife and I dined at the Blue Cat on New Years Eve. The restraunt is warm and has an intimate atmosphere. Our server Isabel (not Isabela) was very attentive. The service was not fast but it was nice to relax and enjoy the evening. The food was excellent. Overall we both enjoyed our dining experience and look forward to returning! Thank You!

On our vacation in Burlington, VT, we pretty much ate our way through this lovely town. But this restaurant was our very favorite! So much so, we even came back for a second visit before leaving Burlington.

While we really enjoyed the food, we both felt the front of the house was grossly understaffed. People who arrived had to wait for waitress to finish at a table before they were approached and seated. Timing in between courses was longer than it should be

As always we greatly enjoyed dinner at Burlington's hidden gem. The steaks and duck were great, as was the Caesar salad. We enjoyed two bottles of a very fairly priced cab. There's a reason the classics are classic and Blue Cat delivers.

Our meal was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented and with adequate portions. Our server was friendly and informative, not seemingly rushed at all, though she appeared to be the only server that night. We would definitely return.

Love the Duck Breast.
They always seem to be short handed so sometimes service seems slow.

We have been eating at the Blue Cat for several years and have been disapointed with this visit. First, they cancelled the free parking policy. Then, service was very long (waiting 15 minutes for our bottle of wine); the steak was not cooked to order; the restaurant was not clean (bathrooms grungy, vents full of dust)- Is this why it is kept so dark? For the price range, this was not to our satisfaction.

The food was quite good. They have a nice variety on the menu. The service was a bit slow, especially considering that we were dining early and there were very few other tables with patrons. The food took a long time and the waitress did not check in very often to see if we wanted more drinks.

I like dining here, this is my 3rd visit.
The food is good, with creative choices and the service is friendly. You feel yourself relaxing as you sit down and peruse the menu.
We ordered the cheese plate appetizer with interesting tastes of chili cheddar, blue, ‘plain’ cheddar, and a soft Brie type. Hummus and pita bread are complimentary.
I ordered an Old Fashion with a touch of maple - it’s very good.
We 3 had Caesar salads, which my daughter remembered from our visit last year.
Our reservations were for 6:30 but the 2 orders of filet mignon were the last 2 filets. I ordered the chicken which I have had before.
These orders took 25-30 minutes to arrive and the taste of filet that I had was only ‘warm’. My chicken on the other hand was piping hot. I asked my companions if they wanted their steaks heated up but they both declined. Not sure why they weren’t served hot (I’m familiar with ‘resting’ and don’t believe that was the reason). The filets did taste delicious.
I was comfortabley full and was planning on passing up desert - until I heard ‘cherry pie with a scoop of ice cream’. I made room and it was delicious.
I will be back.

Only 2 people working who had to do hostess, waiter, bartender, water roles. Did not show us the bottle of $75 wine before uncorking or let us taste it before decantering it. Food was good but arrived tepid (& that is being generous with estimating temperatures). Steaks OK but nothing great. Overall, save your $ for someplace else, go here for glass of wine & app.
