About Blue Bell Inn
The redesigned rustic-meets-modern ambiance compliments the Contemporary American menu which features premium cuts of meat, ocean-fresh seafood and signature raw bar. Seasonal outdoor dining on the flagstone patio is available upon request.
In 2013, Blue Bell Inn underwent extensive renovations for over a year. Various historical aspects were enhanced through thoughtful restoration and new materials such as solid white oak and porcelain tile floors were introduced to create a stunning architectural mélange spanning three centuries.

Blue Bell Inn Ratings and Reviews
First trip to Blue Bell Inn for lunch; had been there for drinks one time. Nice place with good food, service and ambiance. Only complaint is there is a tented area for dining (outdoor patio in summer?) that is extremely noisy with outside traffic. When a dump truck rolls by on Skippack Pike, it is very disturbing. Hopefully, there is a longer-term facilities solution to this.
Will return but would not want to sit in tented area again.
I appreciated we were given a choice of being in a back, quieter room or in a busier area with a view of the tree. Our waitress was knowledgeable and friendly. We had a lovely gathering of friends to celebrate the holidays. Our meals all were very good. Thank you!
Another exceptional meal at the Blue Bell Inn.
We went for Sunday brunch to celebrate the holiday season with friends. Everyone loved it. The raw bar was superb, our entrees were amazing, even the iced tea was fabulous. The service was also top notch. Our waiter was attentive but he also let us have a nice leisurely meal, no rushing at all. We love the restaurant and will be back again and again.
Ambiance was great as far as facility but the background music was completely incongruous with the setting, at least the night we were there (12/2/2017). For such a historic establishment, I would expect classic jazz or something more traditional. Instead, the music was more like I would expect at some trendy, hipster bar.
This was my third visit in about a year and it was the least crowd of the three. But nothing seemed to go right. The timing was off, the food was just okay. Silverware which was taken with taken with the first course was never replaced.
We were given an incomplete check and then it was replaced with the compelete one. We never had a manager come over to check on the table all evening. Just felt neglected.
Under new ownership - the Blue Bell Inn has thrived. The steaks were well seasoned and perfectly cooked. I enjoyed the seasonal hand crafted cocktails. And - the chairs are extra comfortable - which allows for a leisurely dining experience. This is a true neighborhood gem!
We had a delicious dinner; however felt the menu choices were limited. I suggest that an additional 3+ specials be offered. ( a veal chop, Rack of lamb & perhaps halibut would be lovely!)
Small seafood forks should accompany an order of oysters. We had to use our salad forks.
The dessert beignets were as good as Cafe du Mond’s in New Orleans!
We were finishing up when the live music in the bar area began. I would NOT have enjoyed hearing what sounded like mediocre wedding-band music while dining.
Since the renovations a few years ago this is our go to celebration location. We've celebrated our last two wedding anniversaries at BBI, thought it was fantastic that our waiter from the previous year remembered us a year later and came over even though we had a different server. Since last December we have gone several times this year we always have great service and love that they are willing & able to work around my allergy to black pepper! They have it all cozy quiet rooms upstairs to bustling areas around the two bars downstairs, a great outdoor space when the weather is nice & I think they have live music on most weekend evenings.
The service the entire night was outstanding, our waitress was friendly and attentive. The timing of our food between the appetizers and main meal was perfectly spaced. The food was decent but has room for improvements. The flatbread we ordered as an appetizer was not crunchy, it could have used a little longer in the oven, it was almost under-done on the dough so it was somewhat soggy. The lobster and butternut squash soup was all squash. I think someone forgot the lobster, there wasn't even a hint of it in there. The main courses were better, the NY strip was perfectly cooked and nicely charred and it was a generous size piece of meat. The pasta was flavorful and filling. We will be returning to try out other items on the menu, the excellent service alone is a reason to eat at the Blue bell Inn.
Visited for the second time after an amazing 1st was even better than I remembered food value and service simply exquisite brought my step daughter along for the ride this time she said its the best steak she had ever had to be honest its the best steak I've had too
The Blue Bell is truly a gem of a restaurant
I can't say enough good words about the blue Bell. I only wish I was a millionaire so I could eat there every meal. The wait staff is the best and the food and drink is worth every penny. Best fine dining on the east coast, period.
The wine and cocktails were excellent. Everyone enjoyed their food from risotto to steak. The chocolate cake was fantastic. A bit loud and our waiter, who had been employees at the restaurant for 5 years was quite aloof which took away from our enjoyment of the meal.
I used to go to Blue Bell Inn quite frequently a long time ago but had not been in about 20 years. I am so sorry I had stopped going! The food was just as fabulous as it always has been, the service is impeccable and the atmosphere is perfect. The new renovations make the restaurant more open and inviting. There are special rooms for special dinners or a nice little porch for having lunch. No matter if you are having lunch or dinner this is the perfect place to go. I cannot wait to go back and do their Sunday brunch. I highly recommend Blue Bell for any occasion.
