The redesigned rustic-meets-modern ambiance compliments the Contemporary American menu which features premium cuts of meat, ocean-fresh seafood and signature raw bar. Seasonal outdoor dining on the flagstone patio is available upon request.
In 2013, Blue Bell Inn underwent extensive renovations for over a year. Various historical aspects were enhanced through thoughtful restoration and new materials such as solid white oak and porcelain tile floors were introduced to create a stunning architectural mélange spanning three centuries.

I celebrated my Birthday with my Wife, Georgie, for our first visit to this site at a 5:15 PM reserved table with great atmosphere. I had the Guiness prepared Short Ribs (so soft- melt in your mouth) paired with Mashed Sweet Potatoes and grilled Brussel Sprouts. My Wife had the special of the night: a large moist and tender piece of Panko Crusted Halibut on a delicious bed of Couscous (she deleted the inclusive almonds - her choice). After such a good meal we both chose the Mango and Apricot Sorbet dessert (what a refreshing treat piled high on a cold stainless serving dish!) my plate under read in chocolate long- hand "Happy Birthday" . We had the best sorbet ever - After our Blue Bell Restaurant visit I have tried to search out another source of this sorbet - only one around which is in Reading Terminal Market, Bassett's Ice Cream has their Mango and Apricot sorbet : 1 1/2 pint size is $22.00.

Entree ordered was 8 oz filet mignon, medium rare. When served, the two sides were room temperature and the steak was over cooked (medium, not medium rare). Dessert was carrot cake which had obviously been frozen - cake very dry, frosting very stiff. Wife's entree was lamb loin, which was overcooked and appeared to be beef sirloin rather than lamb. He sides were also room temperature. I would have given a rating of '0' if allowed.

Wonderful experience! My wife loved her tuna tartare app and, if possible, the short-ribs were even better with the meat falling off the bone. My shrimp stir-fry was excellent. The shrimp was slightly over-cooked but the meal was still very good. The Caesar salad was a generous offering and very fresh. Our friend loved his perfectly cooked burger. Desserts were every bit as good. The orange creamsicle cheesecake and carrot cake both were excellent, topping off a fantastic meal. Last, but not least, the house coffee was also excellent. Most importantly, prices at the restaurant are very reasonable, particularly when measured against the superb quality of the overall dining experience.
