Blue Bamboo Hip Asian Kitchen
Red Curry Shrimp and Grits
Peppers, Onions, Grit Cakes.
As Southern as we get. Garlic-chive ranch on the side.
Seared Ahi Tuna Salad
Another great meal, the food and service were outstanding as always!
Great meal as always.
Stellar service and inviting ambiance for a casual lunch. The peanut panang was a tad under-seasoned and the lo mein noodles were a smidge too salty, but these were personal palate preferences. Five Dumpling Sampler was delicious and is recommended. We’ll be back!
Most of the food was excellent. We had duck crisps, lettuce wraps and 5-dumpling sampler, all really good. We shared 4 entrees - pan fried noodles, sweet and sour chicken, fried rice with sausage and one other. All really good except sweet and sour chicken - the chicken was very dry (overcooked) and lacked flavor even when drenched in sauce.
Service was suboptimal - waitress was inattentive and kept forgetting things we asked for.
Overall the food was good and we’d return.
Valentine’s Day so special menu for that particular day.
We had a party of 12 and it was our first time going to the Blue Bamboo. And I will just leave it at we will not return. Although the bowl of shrimp fried rice was delicious
Unless we happen to be traveling, we always celebrate Valentine's day at Blue Bamboo and there is always a special menu--this year was the best yet! Every course was fantastic (I shared with the hubs so I could also order some ala carte items he wouldn't want) but the love letters pasta was a stand out! And dessert---OMG so many choices it was impossible deciding so we took almost everything home in a to go pack which we've been enjoying since. SO SO glad we did not miss it this year!
Food was pricey. A lot of the menu was farmed seafood or $40+ steak entrees. We went on Valentines Day, service was slow. Ended up with Kung Pao tofu and sweet and sour chicken, 2 drinks, and zucchini straws. Bill with tip was $80.
Valentine’s Day menu was disappointing. We enjoy Blue Bamboo for its general menu and the special menu was too limited and it strayed from the normal and best offerings of the Blue Bamboo. Noisy, slow service. Atypical for this restaurant. We love this restaurant but will avoid on Valentine’s Day.
The food is good, but overpriced. Service was sub par. Appetizers were better than the entrees, we got egg rolls and crab rangoons for apps, and ahi tuna and general shrimp for mains. Portions were not big enough for the high prices. Overall just average in my opinion.
Food was clearly overpriced for the holiday (Valentines day). Really not that great. My plate size was super small and the rice was under cooked in both meals we ordered. $11 for zucchini straws? Not great probably won’t be back
Food was delicious
Delicious food! Noise level was a bit much, so not the best if you’re wanting a quiet dinner.
Very very disappointing experience. Blue Bamboo was very noisy, no ambiance whatsoever and the service was incredibly slow. Once the food finally arrived, it was average at best.
Never let's us down! Fantastic food (with occasional menu surprises!) and beverage options, great service and fun atmosphere. This is our one standard in a changing sea of dining in Jacksonville...
Jacksonville's hidden gem. Super food, easy in and out, great service.
I enjoyed my jankin pork chop immensely, but my husband found his fried rice less. We had the red and white wine flights, which were very good. Topped it off with Thai tea creme brûlée, which was yummy. Excellent evening overall.
The guests were loud and rudely encumbered our space as they visited friends at another table. This overshadowed a fine dinner and caused us to leave with a quickness.
Love it. Always get the Salmon dinner. Delish!
We went in specifically to enjoy the special Chinese New Year menu. I wanted the Walnut Shrimp (and I'm allergic to walnuts) but did not order it for obvious reasons; my husband did in part so I could just taste it. SO GOOD! I had the pot stickers (equally delicious) and had a fantastic dessert drink--it was wonderful! We love Blue Bamboo any day of the week but when they do special menus it is beyond special!
Food was average and overpriced!!!!! Service is good though...
Waiter was outstanding. Kitchen was accommodating. Everyone enjoyed the meal.
The staff was great- the food was average.
Once again a delightful, personal experience!
Jacob is our favorite person. Very attentive and professional.
From beginning to end the service was exceptional, Love having my date nights there they always aim to please and the servers are very knowledgeable about whats on the menu.
I have eaten at Blue Bamboo many times in the past and have always had a lovely experience. The most recent time prior to this was approximately a year ago. I am so saddened to say that this experience was not good. We had a reservation for a Friday night and were promptly seated when we arrived. The wait staff were pleasant and friendly. Three of our diners ordered sodas. It was obvious from the first sip that the syrup/ carbonation mixture was off. Not a super big deal, but we mentioned it to our server and there was no initiative to fix it or take them off the bill. Next, we ordered a Five Dumpling Sampler and Fried Calamari. When I bit into a dumpling it was icy in the middle. When our entrees arrived, the Basil-Miso Salmon was burned and dry, the noodle and beef entree that my son and daughter ordered a had zero flavor. The one bright spot was the Seared Ahi Tuna Salad, that my mother-in-law (the birthday girl) ordered. She said it was delicious. When eating out I prefer to support locally owned restaurants; I was very disappointed in the quality of food this time.
It’s always a special experience dining at Blue Bamboo. This was no exception. Our server, Jacob, really made the evening great.
Always delicious and fresh food.
Went on NYE - limited menu...didn't know that prior. Will give it another shot when they are offering the full menu. Nice of them to give us a discount card on our next meal - good overall service level from the staff. Food was just ok - expected more.
The evening could not have been anymore perfect! From the friendly and attentive service to the incredibly delicious appetizers (we indulged in the tomatoes, dragon whiskers, jack fruit, and lettuce wraps), all of our meals, our delicious wine, and the show stopper—-dessert!!!! Chocolate brownie, tea creme brûlée, dulce de leche, and the famous orange cake!
Amazing food. Nothing like you would expect. Execution is 10/10
overall very happy with experience. Service was good. The restaurant was very pretty. They were able to accommodate for gluten free needs.
The food and the service were both first rate. We will definitely be back.
During football(travel) season we miss alot of opportunities to dine at Blue Bamboo but we always return and with good reason--delicious food, excellent and friendly service and an overall consistently enjoyable dining experience. We are back on our Blue Bamboo rotation now and so happy to be!
This is the most fabulous place! We are from Palm Beach and are the owners/operators of the new BLINK Fitness gyms coming soon to Jacksonville. So i recommend to visit Blue Bamboo, it's authentic cuisine and then head to Blink and work it off!
Best Asian food in Jacksonville. Inventive, fresh, creative and delicious!
First time back since last spring, and a mixed experience. Service was highly attentive - a plus. Our appetizers were a plus and a minus - plus to the La Shortrib Tacos, a great hint of heat and very flavorful; a minus to the Fried Calamari - these were tender, but the coating was soggy and too salty. For entrées, two of our group had the Half Canton Roast Duck, which is a generous portion, and very delicious judging from the cleaned plates. The General's Chicken was less impressive. While flavorful, it was basically fried chicken pieces and not very imaginative, given the price point. Another had a crispy noodle dish and said it was very good. I had the Basil Salmon, and that was also very good, cooked exactly as ordered. For dessert, we shared the Thai Tea Creme Brulée, which was excellent. The beignets were tasty, but served with just sweetened, condensed milk as a dipping sauce seemed a bit down market and unimaginative for the prices that Blue Bamboo charges.
Always love eating here. After you think you found your favorite dish, you branch out and try something new! Another favorite!!!
