Really lovely location and lovely old building. Service was excellent with great food, cask ales and a good selection of wines.

A nice atmosphere, created by both staff and diners. A few well behaved dogs in the restaurant too - which made it feel very relaxed! Food scrummy with good old favourites like sticky toffee pudding (to die for) - and variations on a light theme - Brie Wellington which was delicious. We are not vegetarian, however both went for this. Vegetables so fresh and cooked to perfection. We are dining here again this evening, and cannot wait 🥰

New coffee machine is pretty useless, the white coffee was pretty much all milk and neither black nor white was hot.

Lovely food and nice atmosphere. Service was excellent and a good selection of food and drink on offer. Slightly on the more expensive side but well worth the cost.

Lovely pub and restaurant however, it was busy and the kitchen was backed up. It took 90 minutes before we received our food unfortunately and only a small bowl of complimentary crisps were offered during the wait. Once everyone’s dishes arrived, most were good but one was disappointing. The serving staff were lovely and apologetic and did their best throughout to communicate updates.

Was very busy. Menu choices we wanted sold out so we missed out. Service was slow, waited nearly 3/4 hour for our food order to be served. Staff did apologise and gave us a free packet of crisps to compensate. Food was ok, reasonably presented and good portions. Unfortunately the beef lasagna my friend ordered was very oily and my friend could not finish her meal because of this. She found it very off putting.

As the previous night the food was excellent standard on this occasion the service was slow but in fairness to the staff they did have a party of 20 ish which always creates pressure
