Fresh shrimp, avocado, verde salsa, cilantro, Mezcal and lime served with our warm tortilla chips
Goat cheese flan, roasted beets, mixed greens and candied pepitas all tossed in a citrus vinaigrette
Hand battered calamari strips in a light coconut batter, fried golden brown. Served with a side of habanero lime dipping sauce
Great food and fun wait staff
The service is great but the food was just average. My wife and I had the chicken enchilada and chicken/steak fajitas and the taste of each was rather bland. The presentation was nice, but the flavors didn’t excite and you can find similar or better at large franchises and for better value.
Good food, service was a little slow. Very nice!
Went here on Valentine’s Day. We were so tightly packed into our table that we could hear every word of the couples next to us conversation and they were not talking loud at all. I could eat off their plate without having to lean at all. It was a joke. They crammed these tables to maximize revenue for one night. Terrible experience
We have been to Blue Toro multiple times, though this will be the last. While the house margaritas are still good and we liked the shrimp ceviche, the two main courses we ordered were not good. The cheese enchiladas were over cooked and the tortillas were hard and dry. The pork chop was dry and the mashed potatoes have gone down hill significantly from prior visits. The best part of the main courses was the asparagus.
Service was fantastic-we especially loved the margarita flights and queso! Thanks for helping us celebrate a special birthday-the dessert was outstanding!
Beet salad had extra chili powder. Told them that I didn’t want extra spice on tacos.. taco was good. Never thought salad also had chili powder on it
A unique varied menu all properly prepared. Shrimp ceviche was outstanding
Outstanding food and drinks! Loved the margaritas. Service by Austin was very good.
Food was delicious, appreciated the waiter making sure the appetizer didn't have cilantro since my wife is allergic. Saved a trip to ER!
Great food and service. Loved our dining experience!!
First time visit for us. The service was great, chips and salsa were great. I had the braised short ribs which were very good. My wife had the pork chop which was good but not to her tastes. But the Mexican Brownie desert will definitely bring us back!!!
Appreciated the variety of margaritas they have on their menu and really enjoyed my food - I had spicy shrimp enchiladas with cheese sauce. They had enough heat to be tasty but not so much to be overwhelming. Everyone at our table enjoyed their food and drinks. I think Blu Toro is a great place for upscale Mexican dishes - not your standard Mexican fare. Great place to meet up with friends or for date night with someone special!
This was my second time at Blu Toro. The hostess was unfriendly. The service from the waitress was SLOW!!! The food was decent. The chips weren’t even warm. Overall I would not go back.
Great happy hour experience until it fills up. Waiter disappeared after food served.
Chicken fajitas were dry and flavorless, but the environment was cool.
Spicy shrimp fajitas no flavor, no spiciness. Business casual for dress and wait staff in t-shirt and jeans. Will not return.
Seemed rather high in pricing. We had 4 people, one was 9 years old, and the bill with tip was $177.00.
Food was OK but not worth the money. They did not have a kids menu either.
The fajitas were bland. I ordered the steak and chicken, neither had any flavor.
Our server was new which is and if itself is fine as everyone has to learn- but she could not answer even simple questions about the food or cocktail menu and had to go ask each time. This is a management issue as no server should be on their own until fully trained.
Very good I have and will recommend to friends and family
Food was expensive, small portions, chicken, meats, and tortillas were dry and little taste. The waiter was great.
Food was very good. Ample servings. Tried the flight of mini margaritas and they were delicious. Will definitely be back.
Showed up early for our reservation and they had the table already set up with reserved signs. Very impressed! The food and drinks are always amazing and never let anyone down.
Accidentally served me flour tortillas instead of corn. Normally wouldn’t mind small errors, but being Gluten free makes it a bigger challenge.
We love Blu Toro and highly recommend it. It's great Mexican food at the high end level. The service is always above and beyond expectations and we've had nothing but awesome experiences here!
Blu Torro is always good and great service. Love the short rib and quesadilla! We’ll be back!
Great happy hour specials! A group of 4 from my job went after work and each enjoyed the margarita flight and an app. I had the taco flight; the carne asada was a bit dry but I enjoyed the carnitas and tinga.
Only thing I would change would be expand the menu just a little.
It was okay for Americans trying to make Mexican food. It’s definitely overpriced for the quality of the food. It was a one hit wonder for me.
Food and drinks are always fantastic! The Jalapeño margarita is a must have if you enjoy spicy drinks. Chips and queso are a great start and the chicken enchiladas with half cheese half enchilada sauce is the perfect dinner. It is a little expensive for mexican food but it is a great way to start a night out in West Glen.
As always, good guacamole (Iowa style) and margaritas. Got chicken fajitas - wish we would’ve gotten the steak. Chicken was kind of bland
Happy hour margaritas flight was fun! Our table very much enjoyed guacamole and cheese dip. Server was right on in helping with recommendations. Music WAY TOO LOUD!
The food is just ok, service is good and prices are too high. There are smaller, local Mexican restaurants close by that have a more authentic, affordable menu with better service. This place tries too hard to be some kind of upscale Mexican restaurant by upping the price and it doesn't work. Paying $15 for three chicken enchiladas doesn't make them more upscale and better tasting compared to a$9 plate at a real authentic restaurant, that also includes two sides. And the smaller places bring yo all the salsa and chips you want as part of your meal, not some $4 charge for salsa and two other bowls of liquid something..
Upscale Mexican food. It’s no Topolobampo but it’s also not Taco Bell. I had the filet with very fresh asparagus and street corn. Old fashioned cocktail was a bit sweet for my taste.
The food was good but not for the price we were charged. Meals only came with the item ordered...no rice...no beans...nothing 😖
What a disappointing experience. We had good service, great margaritas, nice atmosphere but the food was bland and the menu is ala carte and way overpriced. You get nothing with your main dish and it had no Mexican flavor at all. My husband’s enchiladas were just meat in a tortilla with what tasted like tomato sauce on top...no cheese, lettuce, sour cream, nothing. My quesadilla filling had a strange texture (it was mushy or grainy) and no flavor. It was our first time there and we will not go back.
The taco flight was absolutely amazing! Sooo good! And the margarita flight was equally amazing! I will defenitely reccomend to others and will defenitely be back! Thank you Blue Toro for an amazing experience!
The food and service were good. However, for the price I would not recommend this place. I could go to a Mexican restaurant that is half the price and the food just as good. You're paying for the location and atmosphere.
Very good food. I highly recommend the street tacos.
