My first visit... my birthday gift.. and it was an amazing evening.. the food, service, the prices, the music during dinner and after... Was everything..
What you would expect from a fine steakhouse.......................................................!
Awsome music piano player up stairs was great the group forecast was the best loved them the band down stairs show food was great real friendly sound system was great have forecast back
My Wife and I had a great time and our server was outstanding.
I loved the ambiance with the piano music in the background. But the charcuterie board was lacking a bread or cracker; and the steaks were okay.
food was well prepared and service was excellent as always. Wonder dinner and ambiance before a great show!!!!
It was a great experience! We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and we both were very pleased with cocktails and food here. Definitely recommend this place! We will be back!
Food was subpar would recommend anything. I went to order a chicken Cubano sandwich and the server told me that the chicken sandwich and the philly were the 2 worst options and that they always get sent back to the kitchen. Way to start the dinner.
The service was great! Our servers was friendly, polite, prompt and professional.
The food was okay. My husband's steak was dry and the veggies were a bit overcooked and flavorless. My pasta sauce and meatballs were dull, and the meatballs were a bit dry. The food tasted like everything came from a can, not fresh. The veggie appetizer was good, as well as the calamari app. Temperature of the food was barely warm. Wine selections was good.
Dessert was okay, the cake was dry, bland and actually cold. I was expecting the cake to be warmed up, because it was being severed with a side of chocolate ice cream. The side of ice cream was good, better and more flavorful than the cake.
Personally, I would be willing to pay more money for a better quality of food.
i ordered a salad with a piece of salmon on the side. the salmon was dry, hard and strong. it took a long time to get drinks. one of the other persons in our party sent her burger back because she requested medium well and it was medium rare . service was extremely slow
Love the interior with the play bills on the wall and the raised platform for the pianist. Love the pianist.
My husband had a rib steak and I had a filet. Both were a bit overcooked and were just average. This is probably a better place for drinks and appetizers.
But...two of the four at our table are vegetarians. We each had the beet salad which was good, but it is just salad. Vegetarian options would be nice. Please think outside the box; everyone serves eggplant or portobello mushrooms with pasta. Tiresome.
Overall my experience at Blu plate was very good. The food was excellent. The server although new and not very knowledgeable, was personable and friendly. The only negative was the martini I ordered...no olives, no martini shaker for table, not a normal martini glass, had to ask if vodka was actually used..returned drink and the replacement wasn't that much better.
In terms of the room, there is no better place to see live jazz than BluJazz. As a whole, jazz clubs in NE Ohio struggle with the food and service, but Blu is still the best. That being said, we were very disappointed that there were no vegetarian entrees on the menu, and the waiter was a bit clueless about the food/dessert, even though he had been working there for over a month.
Many of the dishes make no sense... sliced pickles with crackers for a hummus plate... Calamari that was only about 5% calamari. The fish entrée was soggy on the bottom, like the fish had been frozen and then cooked from frozen. I wouldn't eat here again, but the jazz concert was great.
In the two times we have eaten there, the Creole-inspired dishes missed their potential. The food is fine, but the real draw is the ambiance--live elevated pianist and really cool bar area. Also, the Blu Jazz Club is right downstairs, so it is convenient to do the dinner and show package.
The experience was good. The food was okay nothing to write home about. The Blu Jazz portion was nice atmosphere was nice, the performance was the best. I enjoyed the night overall.
Not on Wed night. Talked up Jackie Warren and the food. They were running a short menu. Found a couple steaks but could only do French fries with it. Didn't make an effort to appease us in any way. Jackie Warren did not play that night. We were really looking forward to seeing her. The person I brought with me had not seen her before. Nice place but was really disappointed that we were unable to see her and enjoy a nice dinner out.
Food was great! Ambiance and setting was wonderful, as was the music. Service was a little bit slow as far as timing goes, and waitress didn't know the wine menu well... which could have attributed to that as we were trying to figure out which type of wine we would prefer and asked to try out a couple different wines as we didn't want to buy a whole bottle or glass of pricy wine that we didn't like. Other than that, our waitress was very nice and friendly as was the rest of the staff. Definitely recommend visiting, and we'll be returning also!
Food was extremely salty. Out of 8 people that dined only 2 enjoyed there meals and 1 person meal wasn’t ordered for them.
Great food, great music and our server was attentive.
Food was good, but.... Wife had the walleye, but meal was underwhelming. Had ok size piece of fish, with 5, shoestring asparagus on the plate. Still hunger afterwards, for a $26 meal. I had the pork chop, which was good and much more filling compared to the wife’s meal. We also had side salads, which were also sparse for $6. I am sorry I didn’t take pictures to post. I would go back to see a jazz concert, but not sure to eat.
Excellent music and exceptional food!
Absolutely wonderful experience from the first rate food to the exceptional live music!
Food was outstanding, service neeeds improvement but I think it was our waiter. Anotherwater were more visible
My first visit there. Lovely atmosphere and John Perry was fabulous playing jazz music on piano.
I will go back again.
Great meal at The Blu Plate. Sea Scallops and Blackened Catfish. Cody was great! The pianist was amazing. Great drinks, appetizers Easy parking and live jazz below
Piano player was loud.
Other than that awesome, crabe leg dip was unique
and very good.
Food was good. Service good. Blackened fish was excellent. Gumbo was good but not the best I've had. Parking garage access on side street is not known by people who don't live there. Blu Jazz plus employee showed it to us. We had valet parked on front. She said you don't have to. Took us out the door and showed us the indoor parking. We will go back. Piano music was great add
Attentive service. We had a time constraint and they moved it along without rushing us.
We made a reservation, drove 30 minutes to the restaurant and it was closed. very frustrating!
Kody was awesome
