I made the reservation through the Ritz Carlton hotel where I was staying (BBT located at the first floor of the hotel). After dinner they told me dinner could not be charged to the room because Ritz Carlton and BBT were different entities. Sounded quirky. It embarrassed me in front of my guests.
Besides of that food was excellent.
BLT Steak is one of our go to's for a romantic dinner. This visit was excellent in part due to Gary (our attentive server) and wait staff. The food was delicious as expected from the warm popovers, exceptional octopus appetizer, filet mignon, black bass and jalapeno mashed potatoes. Our filet mignon consisted of 1/5 bone and after speaking with our waiter, he promptly took care of it and comped us for the steak. Overall, great dining experience and looking forward to returning.
Christmas Day dinner for 6. Two hostesses couldn’t have been more grim and miserable onChristmas! Just terrible attitude. We were dressed well and had reserved a month in advance. Table they offered was like a large living room table not great for catching up with family. As we waited at the bar for a different table, we were not able to get the bartenders attention so no drinks for us. Dinner Service harried, rushed and entirely unaware that it was Christmas. Steaks good, all veggies over cooked mushy and over salted. Ridiculous bill for a less than mediocre experience. Never again.
We were truly looking forward to celebrating our friend’s birthday. We had a very nice table overlooking the garden with its holiday lights. The disappointment was the porterhouse for 2. Supposedly dry aged but was very sinewy and tough, even the filet side. It did not have the buttery, melt in your mouth quality of a dry aged premium cut. Too bad...everything else was nice.
I have gone here for the last 5 years, same weekend same friends. I stay as a guest a the Ritz. Love the Ritz!
I was however not pleased with the service and table we were given. My rating last year was much higher. First we were given a drafty table by a door, my seat was wet! I asked to be moved and they shifted us over to the middle, and in the path of the kitchen. I’m also glad the dress I wore had a material that didn’t show it was wet and dried quickly. When I told the server the seat was wet he said “okay I’ll take care of it” I didn’t wet it, an apology would have been more appropriate. I almost felt like a second class guest, I love using this app, but it’s not the first time the reservation seemed to be treated like a second class booking. Next year I’ll call directly and ask for a better table if I don’t go elsewhere.
Painfully slow service. 2 hours and 50 minutes to be served a round of drinks, salad, steaks and a desert for a party of 3. It took 20 minutes to be served a drink. Expensive too, $14 baked potato (most of the sides where $14-$16 each). I will say the food was good, but the meal should have been an hour and a half, not almost 3 hours!
I had read a lot of reviews indicating poor service at BLT Westchester but I must say that we had excellent, attentive service - with a smiling greeting by Ariel (sp? apologies) and then headed by waitress Chesca and her support team. I reserved for early (1:00PM) Thanksgiving lunch because it was going to be just two of us and I wanted someplace special and festive for me and my niece. BLT Westchester fit the bill perfectly. First, I was driving in from Boston and was running late, Ariel very kindly was able to change my reservation to 1:30P. The room is cavernous and airy but since it was a sunny afternoon - full of beautiful , soft, natural light. Despite size, very calming space to walk into. While not an intimate space, it was not at all noisy and we could have a conversation. Acoustics were under control. As to food, I must say, we did not have meat. I know sacrilegious for steakhouse, but one of us was vegetarian and one of us was going to a more traditional dinner later so no heavy meat entrees were ordered. I know that good steak houses usually have the best and most copious vegetable sides and that was the attraction. We had truffle mashed potatoes (disappointing, a little to too gooey and salty- no fluff ) and creamed spinach (which was very good). I had wedge salad with bacon that was also nicely done. They started us off with a complimentary pate which I enjoyed very much with crusty bread, as well as their perfect popovers. Warm donuts for dessert and vanilla ice cream were delicious. I can't comment on the traditional Thanksgiving pre-fixe that was available or steaks for that matter but this was a perfect location fro festive lunch in a lovely, modern, elegant light-filled room with a smiling and accommodating wait staff. It felt like a special day being there and kudos for BLT for providing that--if they can just work on those potatoes.
The service for this place is honestly the worst I’ve had especially when ur paying at least 100 dollars a person minimum! From the girl “greeting” people to the waiter “serving” us...I was on a date and we were both just like wtf is this? Will avoid going here next time for sure
Service didn't feel genuine. It felt rushed like playing cards against a dealer at a casino. Servers flock to your table the minute your drink is just about to be empty and ask if you want another one. They don't give you much room to breathe. However the steaks, creamed spinach and mashed potatoes were good. So was the warm apple cobbler with vanilla ice cream.
BLT Steak in White Plains is for people who do not know the difference between Dry Aged beef and beef that has only been wet aged. When we confronted the manager with the issue he did not deny it. They are counting on the average customer who is used to throwing Costco meat on the grill.
The meat that was served to my party and myself was tough and tasteless. The Porterhouse for two, at $106.00 USD, which two in my party ordered was far worse than the Kansas City cut that I ordered, at $59.00 USD. I sampled both and we all agreed that we were NOT going finish the meal. We returned the steaks and paid for our drinks and sides and left the restaurant to go to Benjamin's Steakhouse in Hartsdale.
For a steak place they cannot cook steak to temperature. Wife and I ordered the porterhouse medium and it came out medium rare. I friend of ours ordered the NY strip medium well and it came out medium rare. Sent it back and it just came back charred. Had to wait another 10 minutes to get another one and that too came out medium rare. Manager ended up comping us the steaks and some drinks but did not have this type of experience at any of their other locations.
We had booked reservations at BLT to celebrate several occasions. My boyfriend had raved about their food and wanted to try the White Plains location after having experienced steak nirvana at the Las Vegas location. We were both underwhelmed with the food itself. My steak, a Kansas City bone-in strip steak, was cooked perfectly but had no flavor. He was disappointed that wagyu beef was no longer on the menu. All in all, the atmosphere was nice, the service was very good, but the steak itself left us scratching our heads wondering how the prices were justified.
