This is one of the best steak restaurants I have had the pleasure to enjoy. So glad we didn’t go to Morton’s of Chicago as planned. The popovers were an amazing treat and leaving with the recipe was even better. The Chimicharru sauce made the steak.
This restaurant continues to impress us with service, creative preparations of favorite foods, and reasonable prices.
This is a must visit spot! The steak is like no other! Ambience is amazing and service is amazing!
My 1st time here and the experience was excellent. Friendly staff made us feel very welcome and cared for. Food was really good! Atmosphere is much nicer than shows in pics. Do it!
I took my boyfriend for a special occasion and we both enjoyed the service and the small little treats that were included at no extra cost to us. They made my boyfriend feel celebrated and I was truly thankful for that!
Service was great; food was even better. BLT is great for business lunch/dinner.
The air condition was not working and it was TOO HOT!!!!! The server kept saying it would be fixed soon. Either they weren’t telling him what was happening or it was intentional so people didn’t go elsewhere.
Acoustics are tough. Hard to hear people at table with you. Carpet, cushioned ceiling, something to deaden the noise. We were the farthest possible from the bar, on a Tuesday night, and the noise was very loud. The food was great, done to perfection. The two waiters who took care of us were attentive and professional.
We were visiting from out of town. Service was horrible tonight. Lucas our waiter who was not attentive . Never came to table to ask how was everything Husband had to pour wine twice.. We got better service from George who was waiting on guests at next table.
I am of the opinion that all high quality steak houses are about the same and I still think that, but of the high quality steak houses in D.C., this is the one I enjoy the most. The steaks are great, but I love the sides, bread, and desserts, which I really think gives this restaurant a leg up.
It's always a treat to dine at BLT Steak. The popovers are delicious and the perfect match for one of their delicious salads. Great lunch!
Had an excellent meal including a very tasty and unusual appetizer. I highly recommend it.
We went for her birthday. The service was wonderful. The food was delicious, we had the hanger steak and ribeye with potato skins. All of the food was wonderful. We did sit outside to enjoy the weather, but it is considerably noisier. That was to be expected. Overall a very great experience.
Great food. The bread they serve is to dieeeee for. Steak cooked perfectly. Service was excellent! They are very on top of their game!
I bought a drink at the bar and went to my table. I didn’t end up liking the drink and got a glass of wine instead. I already paid for the drink at the bar and wasn’t upset at all. The manager bought my wine for me to make up for the drink. Thank you so much for that.. the little things like that make a meal!
Great food and service! We had wonderful time from start to finish.
My favorite restaurant downtown. Service and food are consistently great.
I love a good steakhouse and this is one of the best I've been to in any city. Outstanding food and service.
Great place for a business lunch. I have had mixed experiences at other restaurants in the area but BLT is consistently top notch.
Overall experience was disappointing. My steak was dry. Jalapeño mashed potatoes were good but rather small serving. Wine list was extensive. Tuna tartare was excellent. Brussels sprouts over cooked.
Would I return? No.
Great service, great steak, great time
I didn't give a "value" for the meal cause you really don't go to BLT for value. You go there for a really great steak regardless of the price.
great meal . steaks are perfect.................................xyz
Consistently top marks in all respects!
Good steakhouse in a nice location on K Street - lively atmosphere, attentive but not intrusive service. Solid lobster roll, good Cobb salad, excellent burgers (and lots of creative options)
Very expensive place, but I think it’s worth it!
The atmosphere was awesome and food was, of course, really really good! One of the best salmon I’ve ever eat!
I didn’t like too much the dessert, I think it was a little bit too sweet, for my taste... and an espresso for 5$ is really too much expensive!
Great place, even better than it looks from the outside
Two thumbs up! The food was delicious and the service was some of the best we've had anywhere.
I ordered a wagyu ribeye steak, and it was tough and overcooked. Not at all what I would have expected from an almost $100 steak. I will say the desert was good, chocolate/peanut butter mousse. Left 1/2 of my steak and didn't bother to take home. Was in from out of town and based on other reviews expected better.
Staff was good, and the ambiance was nice.
We had a delicious dinner here and we will return soon. Our waiter was excellent and gave us some great recommendations that we really enjoyed. The food did not disappoint, very well seasoned and prepared. And the popovers!
BLT is one of my favorite restaurants! The service is awesome and their steaks are the best in DC.
Great steakhouse fare, and the staff was amazing. Highly recommend!
Five stars across the board. Great food and service. DC has many steak houses to choose from and this is the best I have experienced.
Unbelievably slow service and incredibly noisy!
If you appreciate a good steakhouse, you will love BLT Steak. They know how to cook a steak, it was well seasoned tender and cooked with a nice char. We enjoyed the atmosphere, it is a fine dining restaurant, but the staff is genuine and unpretentious, they really made us feel at home. They were knowledgable and helped us navigate the menu and gave us some great recommendations. If you have not been, go!
First off, I started with a crab cake. Nothing special here. Could be had at any decent resturant. Average taste. The garnish didn't work for me.
The real reason I am leaving a two star review is for the American Wagyu. I ordered the American Wagyu Ribeye. A $95 cut mind you. It was slightly dry, not fatty at all, and did not have that signature, melt in your mouth, Wagyu quality about it. The steak was also served with some garlic butter which I think is not appropriate for such a high caliber cut of beef. At first, I thought they brought me the wrong steak due to the absence of fat and the texture of my first couple bites. One of the servers tried to explain that the Wagyu Ribeyes aren't very fatty and have less marbling.. His explanation didn't make any sense to me. The cut I was served had no fat at all, it was more like a filet/sirloin.
All in all I would never order BLT's American Wagyu again. I guess I should have sent it back, but I have trouble seeing food go to waste.
I went there because I wanted to try Japanese Kobe, after a little research I thought that this was the place, but they only had Wagyu, so I ordered a CAP Wagyu steak because was not going to leave the place and it seemed like a very nice place, so the steak I ordered was supposed to be medium, but it was overcooked on the outside, almost burnt, which is a rookie mistake and shouldn´t be one for this place, this because the cook must have done it in a very intense fire.
The food was pronominal! Sean provided great wine recommendations & Benjamin was a great server. Our first time, & easy to spend $300+ for two people but for special occasions. we’ll be sure to return.
I enjoyed BLT Steak, have eaten at the NYC locations in the past. It is a nice place and has a great ambiance. My only complaint is the uneveness of the portions. We ordered a wedge salad to start that my wife and i split, it would have been enough for 4 people easily. On the flip side the side dishes, which are quite expensive, the portions are comical. The mashed potato comes out in a dish the size of an espresso cup and isn't even enough for 1 person. The steaks are a good size, but again there are limited choices, for instance the filet was a 12 oz where my wife would normally eat a 6 or 8oz, so half her filet was wasted which is a shame. In general I think steak places do a better job than BLT on the portions, but the quality and taste is excellent. The pop-overs are a unique treat and I would definitely come back and keep in mind the portion issues.
Everything was phenomenal! The food is exceptional, and the service could not have been better. Warm, friendly and attentive. Look forward to returning soon.
