BLT Steak DC
Book your next event with us
Our second time here and BLT has, somehow, topped itself. The staff is incredibly friendly and informative; both our waiter and the cocktail manger enjoyed chatting with us and really made took the evening from good to great. We will definitely be returning for a third visit.
Stand out dish: Branzino
Great steakhouse experience here. The Top Cap steak and apple cobbler was perfect!
The bone in cowboy was amazing. I loved the Brussel sprouts as well. It was a busy service on Valentines and we waited 30 minutes despite having a reservation. Then once seated our table was missing a chair so I had to awkwardly wait on the staff finding a chair. That said, was the best steak I’ve had in DC!
Delicious steaks as always but we went on Valentine's Day and the service (and overcooked Popovers) suffered for it.
Our meal got off to a rocky start with our drinks taking forever- but the staff more than made up for it by buying a round and desert. The food is outstanding, wish they could find a way to separate the bar from the dining room as it is so loud.
This was the 2nd time I went to BLT none week and each experience was amazing, the service, the greeting, the valet and the food was amazing. We ordered The cowboy and filet mignon could have easily been shared with 4 people instead of two. The chef came our and checked on us and we reported it was amazing. We will be heading back soon
It was fabulous. Chef Michael made us special dishes. Popovers were to die for. Steaks were Perfection. . Best food Ive eaten in DC in years. A must stop for anyone especially foodies
We love Sara the manager and our server Damala was outstanding and will ask to sit at her table again
Had my first bad steak at BLT. Tough and flavorless. I didn’t say anything to my waiter because I was having an important conversation with our dinner guest, but man I was disappointed.
Also, the apple cobbler was extremely disappointing as well.
Very bummed at how different this experience was compared to my many visits in the past.
The service was terrific. The food was as expected (the lobster dumplings are a must). The wine list is top notch. There are some very nice bottles on there. Great experience and will be back again.
One of our favorite restaurants--an excellent meal all around!
We came in late but had a reservation. Usually this is one of my favs. Not that night. Mashed potatos were served cool, almost cold and the Kansas City cut - which smelled wonderful - was amazingly bland to the taste and a bury overcooked from what we ordered.
I'll chalk it up to a bad night, time of day thing and will go there again. Hope this was an isolated incident and not a harbinger of things to come.
Solid steakhouse lunch — you get what you need, how you need it
This is my favorite steakhouse in DC. The food is consistently excellent and the service is generally solid. On this occasion service left a bit to be desired and the pacing of the meal was far too fast, but the steak, the bacon, the spinach and the strawberry sundae were stellar.
For a city filled with overstuffed (often self-important) locals and visitors -- and also overstuffed with restaurants of all types (including self-important ones) -- BLT Steak is among the best. Reliable, professional, DELICIOUS, a bit pricey (but worth the cost!), and not as full of itself as many other local eateries. BLT Steak is located in more than one city, and while I've visited many of them, I was delighted to learn that a great deal of latitude is accorded to each location... which explains the very personal "feel" to this restaurant. GREAT drinks. FANTASTIC steaks (and well worth the price!).
we did not get our steak leftovers which is very disappointing
For my first time in DC, this place was the first recommendation for food. We were just blown away. From their great selection of whiskeys, their craft cocktails, and the amazing, friendly service, the experience was fantastic. I love that they give you the recipe card for their popovers, even though I will most likely not recreate them as well! The porterhouse with jalapeño mashed potatoes holds a special place in my heart.
Work group dinner. Wait staff were superb - excellent sense of humor, engagement and service! Thanks to Molly and the team!
The New Year's Eve tasting menu was excellent....definitely would go back there again! Service was great and we certainly had a great time there.
Went there for NYE dinner. Great atmosphere. Reservations were at 945pm and we weren’t seated until 1015.. I guess it was okay since it was a special night.
Our orders of the wagyu steaks were great! But I do not recommend ordering the mash potatoes as they were really runny and tasted like instant boxed mash potatoes. I can’t explain.. it was completely tasteless. The waiter at the end even asked to take it off the check since he noticed it was left almost not touched. (It was that bad!)
Overall great service for a busy night. They gave us party favors as well as champagne to ring in the new year.
Ed was excellent server! Great food quality and service always!
It is a tradition for is to come to BLT on Christmas Eve for about the past 7 years - and it will continue! Food was great as always and the chef, Michael, came out to speak to us about short ribs and even hooked up a sample!
We had a excellent lunch!! Very nice meal full of holiday cheer!!
BLT always gets an A-Plus, except at night when it gets far too loud!!

The food was excellent and I enjoyed the service provided by the staff. Always a good choice for lunch or dinner.
Amazing food and service! Highly recommend. The popovers are to die for!
They were very generous since it was my wife’s birthday, which was much appreciated.
The food was fantastic, but the service was what made it memorable. One of the best staffs in all of DC. Everyone was absolutely amazing. Our waiter especially.
We were celebrating me getting a job. The service was horrible. It took forever to get our drinks but our food was rushed. I felt as if we were being pushed out the door. We were almost dine with our meal and our drinks came out. Whenever we wanted to find our waiter he was no where in sight. We eat here often and it was not up to par and truthfully I Don’t want to go back. It was clear management knew something was wrong as two different managers asked if everything was okay. We were so annoyed we just paid and left.
Office Christmas gathering
Service was amazing. The ambience was good. The restaurant itself had character. The downfall was the food. The food was overpriced and did not taste as good as it should.
The restaurant was very busy and very loud. They were not excepting this kind of crowd, according to our server. The manager took our order. The server was running around as the lunch time was very busy and we had to flag down other servers for items that we were missing. The Caesar salad was so-so at best. It had so much lettuce, and hardly ANY parmesan cheese that I had to ask two more times. No croutons, only parmesan crisps which I had to ask for more as well. Ordered with grilled shrimp and there were three. This was a business luncheon and I was entertaining a client; she had not been here before as it's over her price range, and she would not recommend either. Her American Wagyu beef sandwich was tough and warm when served. The manager did say when she ordered it that it would be tough if cooked well done; so she got medium well and still tough by the time she finished it. Very disappointing because the ambiance is very nice, but the food is lacking certainly for the price point they are asking.
Absolutely wonderful experience
This was our first dining experience at BLT. We selected BLT because of the location convenient to our hotel and the availability of dining vouchers. We delayed our reservation by 30 minutes and were pleasantly accommodated. Phil greeted us on arrival and took our coats. He led us to a nice private corner booth. BLT's wine list is extensive, quality, and expensive. I narrowed the selections and consulted with the manager before choosing the 2016 Stags' Leap Petite Sirah. The wine was decanted after presentation. It was an excellent choice. We shared a wedge salad and thoroughly enjoyed the filet mignon (12 oz) and Wagyu skirt (10 oz) with vidalia onion rings and Brussel sprouts. I selected the skirt because of size. Our lead server, Eddie, described it perfectly. Be aware that all the steaks are large and can likely be shared or carried home. The sides are intended to be shared. The steaks were prepared as ordered and the meal was flawlessly served. We enjoyed the peanut butter mouse for dessert. There are many servers at BLT. We were greeted and cared for by at least 5 individuals. Eddie explained that BLT is normally busy and crowded when the legislators are in town. But on this Monday night before Thanksgiving it was quiet and extremely enjoyable. BLT is on par with other upscale steak houses (i.e., Mortons, Ruths Chris, and Flemings). I believe, however, that I enjoyed dining at BLT more.
The top cap is the best steak in DC.
We always enjoy BLT! Our server, TJ, was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. The staff also welcomed us and treated my husband, the birthday boy, with lots of love. YUMMY GREAT TIME!
I came with a friend to celebrate her birthday & the staff dud a great job of making her feel special -from a special “happy birthday“ message printed on the menu, to immediately serving sparkling, followed by a scrumptious amuse Bouche, then a delectable steak, they attended to our every need and & wrapped up with a delicious dessert topped off by candle! Thank you so much for a wonderful celebration exclamation
