BLT Steak Charlotte Ratings and Reviews
I was attending a conference and wanted to find something close by that offered great food and cocktails, this restaurant did not disappoint. The cocktails were interesting and tasted out of this world. I had sushi, it was tender and beautifully presented in cubes, melt in your mouth sushi grade. It is on the pricey side, but well worth a visit.
The omelet was odd looking and rubbery - looked like it was made with egg beaters. The toast was stale and cold. The fruit plate had an odd taste on the underside of the fruit slices. The coffee tasted bad. We had to get up and ask for the check after 10 minutes of not seeing a waiter or being able to catch the hostess’s eye by waiving around our arms. Disappointing experience. We expected much more.
The staff was wonderful and the service was, also, great. My husband ordered the filet and it was tender with great flavor. Cooked exactly as ordered. He loved the jalapeno mashed potatoes which he ordered as a side. I ordered the Wagyu strip steak. The flavor was incredible although the meat was chewy. I did enjoy the Gnudi that I ordered as my side. I would pass on the Wagyu.
We ate brunch here on Christmas day as it was one of the few places open downtown. The restaurant was not busy and we had impeccable service. The waiter did forget to bring me my grapefruit juice initially and when I reminded him he brought it immediately and did not charge for it. My husband and I both had the eggs benedict and they were wonderful! Prepared perfectly! The home fries that came with it were nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and some of the best I've ever had. We will definitely go back again for an evening meal.
We loved our evening at BLT. We went out for Christmas Eve and had a wonderful meal. The wait staff was personable and entertaining. The sommelier was helpful and friendly. Best steaks we have had out in a while. We often eat at Ruth’s Chris, Capital Grill, and Fleming’s and the ribeye was so much better at BLT. Highly recommend.
Server was knowledgeable and fun. The food was amazing. The ambiance was quiet and nice. My only concern is that the server was not aware that BLT Steak advertises as a partner of the Blumenthal Art Center and offers a free desert online with verification of tickets. We were too full and happy for desert, but management should make sure the staff is aware of promotions.
Great atmosphere and great food. I have been here a few time in the past and have never been disappointed.
BLT is a good spot for many different t occasions. I’ve popped in for a quick bite before a show, to hang on girls night or date night with my husband. Every time it feels very comfortable and the staff is always accommodating.
It was great the restaurant was a little busy when we got there but we didn’t have to wait they had or table ready for us when we got there, the food was great although the steak I had ordered was a little on the over cooked side it tasted great so I’m not complaining, the waiter was amazing and attentive was also very friendly. I would definitely come back to BLT Steak for another great experience.
Disappointed that BLT seems to be on the decline the last two times there. The service this time, unlike the last time we were there was not very good. It took over an hour for our lunch to come out and the dining room was a quarter full. I guess part of the issue might that, like a lot of hotels, they share their kitchen with room service. That said, I would expect good service on the floor from BLT, and that wasn't there either. I could probably let some of this go if the food quality were better. I ordered Eggs Benedict and the eggs were cook hard. The popovers are one of the reasons people go to BLT and ours did not come out warm. Definitely holding this place to a high standard, but BLT should be judged by that. For less money and in a different environment, I would not hold it to as high a standard.
Food was great, our servers were great (shout-out to the two Jonathans), and we were given complementary champagne for our anniversary ... so good intent, but for Ritz prices I was expecting an occasion-worthy experience... table cloths and less of a casual, bring the family atmosphere. I felt out of place in a sport coat and without 2.3 children. I used to frequent both Ritz in Atlanta; This Ritz sinning is much less formal. I did not do my due diligence for an occasion, but know for next time to wear blue jeans and come with a casual attitude.
The food was quite delectable. I enjoyed the lively atmosphere and waitress Leigh Ann was very polite. She wasn't overbearing and did well managing her customers. I ordered the bone in ribeye steak and my significant other ordered the short ribs. Both selections were very tender and flavorful and will definitely be patronizing BLT Steak again soon.
Disappointing, not at the level of Capital Grill or Mortons. Ordered Filet Mignon, which shouldn't have any fat pieces on it, but it did. Also ordered a medium well filet that was served rare. The Asparagus was overdone. I don't know if they were rushing, even though there were empty tables in the restaurant on a Saturday night, but this is not what you would expect from a fine steak restaurant. They are not paying attention to details like they do at Capital Grill and Mortons.
I recently moved to Charlotte from Chicago. BLT was suggested to me as a great place to have a high-quality steak and good wine. The wine list was lengthy and well put together. The steaks were Moderately priced. I requested that my steak be cooked rare. This server insisted that it should be cooked medium in order for the true flavors to come out. I decided to listen to what he said and completely regretted his suggestion. The sides were subpar and not what you would expect for the caliber of a restaurant like BLT. I would not recommend this restaurant and will not be returning.
We had travelled all day and had made a reservation at BLT as it was convenient located in the Ritz Carlton Hotel. But already at the bar where we had a drink before dinner, we noticed how very cold it was in this place. We asked if they could turn down the AC as it was a very cold day outside anyway. Not much happened. It was even worse at our table where we were seated for dinner. We spoke with the manager and he kindly explained that maintenance has been notified. But this was a Sunday evening. While the salad and Dover sole were delicious, we couldn’t enjoy it because we were freezing. Other people also sat there in Winter coats❄️.
Hadn’t we been so tired, we would have gone elsewhere.
As a former chef/currently hospitality consultant, I am not unreasonable nor am I a food snob, but I do expect an operation to fulfill the mission it presents to the market.
BLT Steak accomplishes this task handsomely, gracefully and with exceptional attention to detail. We will visit often.
The room decor is understated and provides a sense of serenity and relaxation. You’ll feel just as welcome for a burger at the bar as you will for a two hour multi-course dinner.
We do not eat steak as often as we did in the past, but I do expect steak in a prime steakhouse to live up to the hype and the price. I enjoyed one of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten in Charlotte.
With heartfelt appreciation for the staff, hope to enjoy many memorable meals with friends and family at BLT Steak.
