BLT Steak Charlotte

Good food and wine selection. Average service. Ambience was substandard and felt more like a fast casual restaurant, not a high end place you would expect of Ritz Carlton. Maître D had a tough time keeping folks to task and it appeared a bit disorganized, as if they were undermanned for the evening. I can see the attempt to project a Vegas luxury vibe, but their efforts fall flat. Home to some showy clientele who appeared to be enjoying their first night out at a nice restaurant, and just like these customers BLT Steak seemed to be trying too hard.
Save your money and head to Capital Grille. I don’t regret my experience, but I will not return.
This is not my first visit. We came in this past Saturday. We were greeted right away, however I told him there was 4 of us for dinner. He told me that we were down for just 2.( I rechecked the reservation to make sure I was right) anyhow, we were seated, and ordered. Or appetizers were delicious. We had the crab cake, shrimp cocktail, Cesar salad and the ahi tuna. All were amazing. We ordered 5 sides with our steak. I ordered the tomahawk ribeye. I was over cooked and tough. Really upsetting considering how expensive it was. It look us forever to finally get the bill. I would say great place for drinks and apps, not for a meal. Save your lonely and go elsewhere. We spend over $400 there and I wasn’t worth that.
One of my favorite restaurants in Charlotte just because of its ambience! However we go there because of the service and food!
Great lunch as usual. Chopped salad with shrimp and swordfish sandwich - both outstanding.
The food was average, aside from the lobster cobb, which was phenomenal. As far as the service, the hostess and the servers were rude when I came in to make the reservation and again the day of until they were sure we would sit and order drinks. Our server said he was unable to split our checks unless it was in equal payments, but when we called we were told the checks could be split normally.
BLT is great for breakfast if you are not in a rush. Scrambled eggs, sausage and home fries were all excellent!
What a fabulous restaurant! The food and service are exceptional. The popovers are SO delicious!!!
We had a great experience at BLT Steak celebrating my brother's 26th birthday. They made it special and the service was impeccable. The food was really good. We had the bone in rib-eye, 2 regular rib-eyes and 2 filet mignons. All were cooked to order and we especially liked the mushrooms, asparagus and potato au gratin for sides. The cheesecake, toffee pudding and chocolate peanut butter mousse was also delicious. They brought one of the desserts out with a candle for my brother. The only issue we had was that it was a little loud and we had a hard time hearing each other. Would go back again but maybe ask for a table more out of the way.
The food was excellent but I was disappointed in the service. It was my husband’s 50th birthday and we were staying at the Ritz Carlton overnight to celebrate and go to a concert we had dinner reservations before the show and I had confirmed with them twice that it was a birthday celebration and if they could bring out a dessert with a candle after our meal. I was told no problem and assured it was in their notes in the system ...After our meal the waitress just brought the check no cake or birthday dessert so I asked her about it and she got defensive with a chip on her shoulder and said that she would have no way of knowing it was his birthday unless I told her even though I called earlier that day to confirm they told me it was already in their system. Oh well even though the food was great I will not be going back for my type of celebrations in the future.
Really disappointing. Food was mediocre. Had to send back one dish due to it being cold. Flavoring was overdone. This restaurant used to be so much better. Service was one bright light.
Bathrooms were disgusting. Had to go to hotel front desk to complain/request cleaning.
It is OK, not as good as other steak houses I have visited. It is also very loud.
Underwhelming to say the least. Popovers were ice cold, steak was extremely under cooked. Not worth the money. I’ll never be back.
My first time dining at BLT. Our server Meagan was attentive and once she was aware we were heading to a show after dinner she made certain we were on our way in plenty of time. The popovers and chicken liver pate were a delicious treat. I highly recommend and will return for sure.
We decided to eat at BLT for my son’s 15th birthday and we couldn’t have been more pleased. The level of service and quality of food was first class. Thank you for making his special day even more special.
Wonderful service ! Amazing food! We will be back!
Meeting Up with our three children and a couple of their friends who live here in Charlotte… We’ve been here in the past and the food was superb and the service was excellent…
Delicious popovers. Delicious chopped salad. Valet parking.
Our waiter Mike was fantastic. He made our special night so wonderful. We will definitely be back.
Dover sole wonderful and hard to find. Service spot on. Conversation friendly.
I eat at steak houses frequently. My dinner Tuesday night was the best tasting and prepared steak I have eaten since I can remember. I will be back soon.
Saturday night at The Ritz Carlton. That should create an amazing image in your mind, right? My date came to town to see me, and I recommended this hotel and restaurant. I have eaten at BLT several times. First of all, we couldn't get served in the bar area. So we had to go to the bar to get drinks. The Jazz trio that plays there is way too loud, and not that great. I was very shocked when we were seated in BLT how loud the restaurant was. And also very disappointed at The attire in which the hotel allows patrons of this restaurant to dress to eat in this location. It was ridiculous. The lighting was too bright. The wait staff seemed very hectic. In a fine dining atmosphere? You don't really see the staff. The service is great, but discreet. Not here. The food was unremarkable. I am very well traveled, and have patronized Ritz Carlton for many years. But although I live in Charlotte, I will not be returning to eat there anytime soon.
We had wonderful service. It was a special dinner for my husbands birthday and the manager and my daughter arranged the wine selection for our dinner.
Not impressed - we came here to celebrate our anniversary and noted as such in our online reservation. For this caliber of a restaurant, I expected the hostess to acknowledge it at the very least. Food was good but the overall quality and experience did not match the price for this restaurant.
The side of mashed potatoes needs to be larger since I'm sure most people consider it something to share. They are delicious but way too small of a portion for a shareable side dish. Asparagus were very plump but could have been cooked a bit longer.
Food was great. Waiter(Benjamin)was very knowledgeable and offered great advice and wine choices.
Such an incredible evening with amazing food and cocktails! A+ 10/10 recommended!
Great place for dinner prior to an event downtown ( game or play, or symphony). Service has always been attentive . They listen carefully if you have any time constraints
Know BLT is renowned for their steaks however Renee’ and I came for the seafood which was excellent. We ran up the appetizer list and down the entrees, all were wonderful, standouts were the Crab Cake and Sea Bass. Service was just right, drinks were great. Thanks
Food is always excellent and service is outstanding!
Best restaurant in Charlotte. Only one serving Dover sole and it was magnificent
My go to restaurant when I'm in Charlotte - Always is great all around
Terrific lunch. Swordfish sandwhich was excellent. The Lobster Cobb was very good, although a bit light on the lobster. The server was attentive without being intrusive. All around a real pleasure for a business lunch.
Waitress was a little inattentive...Nice enough though. and then when i asked for a salad instead of fries she said there would be a “small” upcharge. I know BLT is a higher end restaurant but $5 extra is a lot for a salad substitute. She should have said $5 and the shock factor wouldn’t have been there when it came time for the check.
The food was very good, especially the gruyere cheese popovers. The ambiance was terrific for a group because the music was not so loud as to drown out those at the end of the table. (Six of us frequently eat together, and this is a problem at otherwise great restaurants like Fahrenheit.)
The one downside for the group is that we learned after the meal that our check could not paid individually, even though the prices of our orders varied VERY widely. Finally, the waiter was able to get special permission after speaking with the manager, but this awkward dilemma put a slight damper on what could have been a completely glowing opinion of the place. Overall, it's a great place to eat an upscale dinner, but not necessarily for a group.
Great service! Enjoyed the fast services from friendly staff.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience for restaurant week! The staff was on top of things and the food was amazing. I highly recommend.
My wife and I look forward every year to restaurant week, as our anniversary always falls right in the middle of this event. This year we were excited to try BLT Steak. We arrived 30 minutes early for our reservation, and were delighted that the hostess was ready to seat us. Then we got to our table. Out night of romance and celebration turned into a miserable experience. We sat at our table for two, which was wedged very closely between to other tables. We were literally less than 18 inches from our neighbors on each side. I could have reached out and taken a bite of my neighbor's steak. We couldn't help but hear every word of every conversation on each side of us. Needless to say, our intimate conversations had to shift to surface talk about the weather and the food...
Then we ordered. My appetizer was literally two slices of bacon. Sure it was tasty, but that's all it was...bacon. When the entrees were served, we did our best to eat off of the tiny plates, which were barely large enough to hold the food that was on them. At least the portions were size-able enough to fill us up, but the quality of the steak and the stuffed chicken - well, it certainly wasn't worth what we paid for it.
Dessert came, and it's a good thing it did. The peach cake, though a little dry, was a welcome treat after laboring through the overcrowded, less that satisfying food that had come out earlier.
Thank you for the opportunity to try your restaurant, but I don't expect we will be back.
Out of town company in for dinner. Great salmon, jalapeño mashed potatoes, and those popovers! Ben rocked again as our waiter!
Food was way too salty. It was so noisy I could hardly hear the maitre’d say, “well, it’s a popular restaurant.”
We were accommodated by the bar staff next to the restaurant
They let us sit in there. Thank s where we found the salt bomb on our entree’s . My wife could not eat her scallops . I was able to scrape the top and bottom off of my sea bass and eat most of mine. We did not ask them to adjust the bill but, To their credit , they deducted the scallops
Love this restaurant! The food is consistently well-prepared, well-presented and tasty, and the wine list is great as are their cocktails. It's a happening place, so although not necessarily romantic, it's definitely a special occasion. The service is excellent with knowledgeable and friendly servers and a very helpful manager who knows his wines. We've never had a bad experience here!
