BLT Steak Charlotte

The side of mashed potatoes needs to be larger since I'm sure most people consider it something to share. They are delicious but way too small of a portion for a shareable side dish. Asparagus were very plump but could have been cooked a bit longer.
Food was great. Waiter(Benjamin)was very knowledgeable and offered great advice and wine choices.
Such an incredible evening with amazing food and cocktails! A+ 10/10 recommended!
Great place for dinner prior to an event downtown ( game or play, or symphony). Service has always been attentive . They listen carefully if you have any time constraints
Know BLT is renowned for their steaks however Renee’ and I came for the seafood which was excellent. We ran up the appetizer list and down the entrees, all were wonderful, standouts were the Crab Cake and Sea Bass. Service was just right, drinks were great. Thanks
Food is always excellent and service is outstanding!
Best restaurant in Charlotte. Only one serving Dover sole and it was magnificent
My go to restaurant when I'm in Charlotte - Always is great all around
Terrific lunch. Swordfish sandwhich was excellent. The Lobster Cobb was very good, although a bit light on the lobster. The server was attentive without being intrusive. All around a real pleasure for a business lunch.
Waitress was a little inattentive...Nice enough though. and then when i asked for a salad instead of fries she said there would be a “small” upcharge. I know BLT is a higher end restaurant but $5 extra is a lot for a salad substitute. She should have said $5 and the shock factor wouldn’t have been there when it came time for the check.
The food was very good, especially the gruyere cheese popovers. The ambiance was terrific for a group because the music was not so loud as to drown out those at the end of the table. (Six of us frequently eat together, and this is a problem at otherwise great restaurants like Fahrenheit.)
The one downside for the group is that we learned after the meal that our check could not paid individually, even though the prices of our orders varied VERY widely. Finally, the waiter was able to get special permission after speaking with the manager, but this awkward dilemma put a slight damper on what could have been a completely glowing opinion of the place. Overall, it's a great place to eat an upscale dinner, but not necessarily for a group.
Great service! Enjoyed the fast services from friendly staff.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience for restaurant week! The staff was on top of things and the food was amazing. I highly recommend.
My wife and I look forward every year to restaurant week, as our anniversary always falls right in the middle of this event. This year we were excited to try BLT Steak. We arrived 30 minutes early for our reservation, and were delighted that the hostess was ready to seat us. Then we got to our table. Out night of romance and celebration turned into a miserable experience. We sat at our table for two, which was wedged very closely between to other tables. We were literally less than 18 inches from our neighbors on each side. I could have reached out and taken a bite of my neighbor's steak. We couldn't help but hear every word of every conversation on each side of us. Needless to say, our intimate conversations had to shift to surface talk about the weather and the food...
Then we ordered. My appetizer was literally two slices of bacon. Sure it was tasty, but that's all it was...bacon. When the entrees were served, we did our best to eat off of the tiny plates, which were barely large enough to hold the food that was on them. At least the portions were size-able enough to fill us up, but the quality of the steak and the stuffed chicken - well, it certainly wasn't worth what we paid for it.
Dessert came, and it's a good thing it did. The peach cake, though a little dry, was a welcome treat after laboring through the overcrowded, less that satisfying food that had come out earlier.
Thank you for the opportunity to try your restaurant, but I don't expect we will be back.
Out of town company in for dinner. Great salmon, jalapeño mashed potatoes, and those popovers! Ben rocked again as our waiter!
Food was way too salty. It was so noisy I could hardly hear the maitre’d say, “well, it’s a popular restaurant.”
We were accommodated by the bar staff next to the restaurant
They let us sit in there. Thank s where we found the salt bomb on our entree’s . My wife could not eat her scallops . I was able to scrape the top and bottom off of my sea bass and eat most of mine. We did not ask them to adjust the bill but, To their credit , they deducted the scallops
Love this restaurant! The food is consistently well-prepared, well-presented and tasty, and the wine list is great as are their cocktails. It's a happening place, so although not necessarily romantic, it's definitely a special occasion. The service is excellent with knowledgeable and friendly servers and a very helpful manager who knows his wines. We've never had a bad experience here!
My previous dinner experience at BLT was horrible but lunch was much better. A birthday celebration for 6 seniors was quite nice. The atmosphere is bright in the dining room but it was quite chilly even for the staff. Popovers are delicious! The addition of a pot of jam or preserves alongside the butter and sea salt would be a nice touch. The butternut squash was not as flavorful as could be but the chicken soup was perfect. The salads were delicious but the chicken panini was dry. The service was well done but a bit slow. Ladies chat, so that didn't bother us. What did cause a problem were two guests sitting near us (shorts, shirt, & sandals for him) who were very loud. This was an awkward situation for all. Access is difficult. In late July the Trade Street entrance was obscured by construction and was missed by three of our party. Valet parking is a plus.
The food was excellent and the service was amazing
Fantastic service Donna was amazing keep up the good work
The place was upbeat and comfortable. The service was excellent and food was pretty good.
Food was great!!! The ambiance is one point. I really loved the atmosphere and the service was spectacular!
Horrible. Staff rushed us through dinner, we were in and out in an hour. We had the steak entree and it was a poor cut of meat, chewy and fatty. We were never asked if we would like drink refills. If you are looking for a dining experience, do not choose this restaurant. We will not be back.
Restaurant week. My husband had the steak and it was beyond chewy. Each piece took forever for him to chew. Everything else was great. Salmon was so soft and almost buttery.
Let me begin with the fact that my boyfriend and I went to try BLT during Queens City Feast week. So, my review represents just a small portion of what is the whole BLT STeak experience. My top kudos for my experience was the popovers and the waiter. He was accommodating, friendly, and easy on the eyes. My complaints were that I asked for my steak to come out medium well....it was still chilled in the middle and the chicken breast my boyfriend ordered was very bland. I realize there is salt in the table, but I never salt my food after it hits the table as I don't like the gritty texture. The corner table we had was nice and cozy, but had we been put at a two seater sitting directly beside another couple.....I would not have stayed. That is just too close for comfort for a quiet romantic dinner. I ate at another restaurant the day before and preferred it much better. Sorry BLT I probably won't be back, but still wish you luck in the future.
I was disappointed to learn that they had a totally diff menu for Restaurant Wk than they normally have. It seems like they threw together a menu to participate.
Mac and cheese offered as a starter?
Sirloin served at a “top quality” steakhouse?
First time for friends at BLT. Amazing meal, detailed service...will be back.
The food was okay but no one in our group felt it was somewhere we must come back to. The service was great!
Let me start with I love BLT and have been to a few around the states. I have been to this one many times for regular service and restaurant week. The last two times have been below average. The service was lacking and the food was just ok. This year for restaurant week the served what I would consider an applebees sirloin. One of our guests ordered off the regular menu because the lack of quality on the prix fixe menu. It was not busy and there were multiple open tables. I went for my birthday in September and the service was so awful some of my friends almost left. With that said last night I went to Oak for restaurant week dinner and they served regular menu food, were packed, we were more than taken care of and the GM stopped by twice to check on us. There is no reason BLT can't step their game up.
My husband and I dined at BLT Steak for our 33rd wedding anniversary. It was restaurant week and like another reviewer noted, what was offered on the restaurant week menu was not offered on their regular menu. We both had the top sirloin and fingerling potatoes from the restaurant week menu. We were very disappointed as the steak was difficult to cut and had absolutely no flavor. They bring a large container of salt to the table so we used that to give it at least some flavor. The popovers were good and the dessert was good. Our waiter was OUTSTANDING! I won't be back to BLT Steak. I expected so much more! And note to BLT steak: Restaurant Week is all about diners wanting to try food for potential return to the restaurant. You should at least offer a small cut of the beef filet; I felt it was very cheap of you not to. At least Ruth's Chris does and we will be going back there in the future for the best steak on the planet!
Superb service. Great food. Great location near everything downtown.
The food exceeded our expectations and our waiter, Ben, provided great service and made for a great night! Will be back.
WE WERE CELEBRATING MY WIFE'S BIRTHDAY. FOOD AND SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT; STEAKS WERE COOKED AS ORDERED. A BIT PRICEY.
Everything was delicious and the service was outstanding!
Service was excellent and the food was outstanding! Highly recommended!
I've been to BLT many times for dinner which is typically excellent. This review is for breakfast. I would recommend getting the full breakfast; I ordered the yogurt which was very tasty but the granola was really lacking. Lots of nice berries were included though and we added bananas which was a nice touch. There are not many places to get a nice breakfast in the area, so this is a great selection with clients or business.
Everything was great... except the steaks find it hard to believe they were USDA prime... they comped the steaks .. that wasn’t my objective.. steaks better at longhorn.. made up the difference in the tip because everything else was superior
Food and service outstanding. One of the best steaks we have had. Definitely will be back.
The steak was delicious, appetizers were excellent, the service was great. Always a solid choice for a business dinner in uptown Charlotte.
The only reason the noise level was not higher is because the was a child making screeching noises a few tables away. Which is not your fault! It’s the fault of parents. Thanks you we had a wonderful time and our waiter was excellent
