I made a reservation and still had to wait
45 minutes to be seat! Then the staff was slow serving the food and I spent 2hr 45mins in the restaurant. Mgmt did nothing to make up for the bad service. Terrible service!
Restaurant week so it was busy and they seemed short handed. All things considered, our experience was great. Waited on being seated, with a reservation, waited on water and wine came after meal. Our waitress was great and the food was excellent!
I booked this restaurant for my mom’s birthday breakfast and was really looking forward to it. I usually don’t use the “special occasion” option when I book but I did and specified “birthday”. I don’t understand why it’s there if it’s not going to be used or acknowledged.
Anyway, we were allowed to choose our own seats, and proceeded to start our celebratory breakfast off the way we normally do...with mimosas! EXCEPT there was no Prosecco! We waited and waited while some checked a warehouse or back room and NOTHING. BLT Steakhouse in the Ritz-Carlton did not have anything to make mimosas with in the entire building. Soooooo disappointing!! Even while I’m traveling, I like to call guest services for a tasty mimosa and if I was told that from a Ritz team member I would’ve been livid..especially on my birthday!! I choose restaurants and hotels based on the assumption that I won’t have to deal with certain things (bad service, incomplete menu items, etc) and I’ll pay extra for this. It didn’t work out for me this time.
They didn’t even offer a substitution. ...well they brought over a sample of champagne that was $27 per glass and not tasty at all! (and this was about after 15-20 mins of waiting). Again, so disappointing. We finally ordered. The food was okay. My mom had to request the toast that was supposed to come with her meal and it wasn’t the same toast her dish described. She didn’t seem to care and we were just done being underwhelmed.
I wish I could’ve had a better experience. I hope that supplies will be adequately stocked for future customers.
Tremendous service: they honored the request i made to hold a serving of Dover Sole for me when I arrived an hour early for my reservation so I could sit at the bar and catch up on emails, while I waited for my guest. When we sat at our table, they let me know they had my Dover Sole waiting for me, which is my favorite dish at BLT. The noise level was quite loud and echoey, making business conversation difficult. Need some noise dampening tiles on the walls and up on the ceiling. Great food, great service.
Thanks! Nice! Thanks! Nice! Thanks! Nice! Thanks! Nice!
Service was awesome, food was awesome. Eat there every chance we get!!!!
Overpriced. I was disappointed with the meal...good, not interesting or great, but with a Morton’s/Capital Grill pricetag!!
I would not go back.
Great staff and food
Filet ordered medium rare. Came out cold and very rare. Manager told by waitress after 15 minutes. I said I would simply take home and have with eggs for breakfast. He opted not to come by table nor offer a thing. Did stop at table next to mine and comment that so long as you’re happy we’re happy. Too bad I wasn’t.
Was my sixth visit to BLT ( not all were restaurant weeks visits either ). It will likely be my last
Always an excellent dining experience at BLT. Highly recommend.
Great! Pricey but well worth it!
Wonderful way to celebrate New Years. Excellent in every way.
A fun date night choice! We went New Year's Eve and had a delectable Filet Mignon cooked just right! The jalapeno mashed potatoes had a bit of pizzazz and the brussels sprouts were a treat. We always look forward to the popovers and the chocolate dessert as well! The service was top notch -- very attentive but not rushed. We had a lovely relaxing meal.
The service and food was great you have to try the Dover Sole
Was outstanding all around. We were very happy with everything and we walked around and checked out a lot of places before making our choice the day before. It is a high end eatery and they showed us high end food and service.
Great! We will be back for the ribeye!
We went for Christmas Eve and it was loud. The ambiance was great, service excellent. I didn’t care for the pop overs or their salads, but the main course was EXCELLENT.
My family had our Christmas Eve dinner here and it was delicious. Great, friendly service.
Absolutely Awesome! From the moment we walked in till we we walked out. They did not miss a trick. Can’t wait to do it again.
Best food I’ve eaten in all of Charlotte. Seriously. Had the Sole fish. Blown away. Will absolutely return here for anniversary’s and special occasions.
I'm there a half dozen times a year for a business lunch and the last couple of times it's been a disappointment. Service was lackadaisical and the lobster salad may have been the saddest example of a lobster salad that I've ever had the misfortune of sampling.
We had a fabulous night at BLT. The food was delicious and the service even better. Our waiter Benjamin was phenomenal! Can’t wait to go back.
Don’t be afraid of the chicken liver patté it’s delicious. The popovers were awesome! I rarely like a steak that I don’t make myself and I’ve been to many steakhouses in Charlotte. The steak was cooked to perfection!
We had a great dinner before the Nutcracker! Service and ambiance was excellent! Food was incredible!
Wonderful experience. The food was excellent and the service was even better—genuinely friendly staff all around! Definitely our new favorite steakhouse in Charlotte.
We were staying in Charlotte on Thanksgiving night on our way to a wedding in South Carolina. We chose BLT Steak in the Ritz Carlton for our Thanksgiving dinner, as it featured a Thanksgiving meal. The service was excellent, but the food was such a disappointment. The turkey and gravy were terribly over-salted. The dressing and the dessert, carrot cake, were just not good. We noticed the guests at the table next to us did not eat their dessert either. The best part of the meal were the mashed potatoes and green beans. For a fixed meal price of $85 per person just for the food, not including tax, gratuity or wine, the quality of the meal should have been high. It was not. Avoid holiday meals at BLT Steak in Charlotte.
Went for Thanksgiving. Service was great, food tasted great but thought portions were quite small for the cost.
BLT was a lovely way to spend Thanksgiving when family is out of town. They serve the sides family style so you get to have a bit of everything, and there are leftovers to take home. Service was great, and Tony did a good job making us feel at home.
I bought a $60 ribeye and it was super tough. Aside from that it wasn’t even that tasty. It looked good but wasn’t. My wife got the filet and that was good.
Benjamin was an excellent server!
Dinner before the Elton John concert. The dining room was loud but attribute that to the loud bar noise. The service was excellent. The waiter and assistant waiters were very attentive. The steaks were outstanding as well as the Brussel Sprouts and Asparagus. Parking at the Ritz is a bonus!
I've been to other BLT locations but not this one. I was pleased that the food and service were excellent and what I would expect from the BLT Steak restaurants.
Food, portion sizes and service are nothing like they used to be but the prices have increased quite a bit. We probably won't go back there again, sadly. Downtown competitors have upped their game (prices too) with larger portions, better service and allowing separate parties dining together to pay individually without requiring everyone to split the bill in equal amounts. BLT Management- that's a DUMB idea!!
The ambiance lacked sophistication. Waiter was excellent. Food was prepared well however it was short on wow.
BLT was, sadly, just ok.
This was my second visit and it was very much reduced in quality of steak and in condition of dining room.
The meat was dry and lacking flavor or even proper salting. The barbecue corn was thankfully still superb! Mashed potatoes were too loose and the sticky toffee pudding was just ok.
Our table had several scorch marks, the chair backs were worn and dirty, and lots of wear-and-tear could be spotted without much effort.
If prices were cut in half, and it was not located inside a Ritz Carlton, it would be just fine, but as it is, BLT is not performing.
Wonderful experience in every way! Food and service were outstanding!!
We had a rather rocky beginning to our meal (seated at a noisy table right beside the kitchen entry; an indifferent and hurried server who made us feel like we were inconveniencing him by dining here; chose an entree only to find out after taking some time to decide that they were sold out of it). We switched tables and were served by Paula who was lovely and attentive. We were tempted to leave after our initial impression, but were happy we stuck it out as the food was delicious. We enjoyed the wagyu and sea bass (the dover sole was sold out). Both the mushroom and asparagus sides were nicely prepared and tasty. My husband enjoyed the peanut butter chocolate mousse for dessert. The room itself looks a bit tired and the rushing around of servers rather distracting if you don't like that kind of vibe.
Good food and wine selection. Average service. Ambience was substandard and felt more like a fast casual restaurant, not a high end place you would expect of Ritz Carlton. Maître D had a tough time keeping folks to task and it appeared a bit disorganized, as if they were undermanned for the evening. I can see the attempt to project a Vegas luxury vibe, but their efforts fall flat. Home to some showy clientele who appeared to be enjoying their first night out at a nice restaurant, and just like these customers BLT Steak seemed to be trying too hard.
Save your money and head to Capital Grille. I don’t regret my experience, but I will not return.
This is not my first visit. We came in this past Saturday. We were greeted right away, however I told him there was 4 of us for dinner. He told me that we were down for just 2.( I rechecked the reservation to make sure I was right) anyhow, we were seated, and ordered. Or appetizers were delicious. We had the crab cake, shrimp cocktail, Cesar salad and the ahi tuna. All were amazing. We ordered 5 sides with our steak. I ordered the tomahawk ribeye. I was over cooked and tough. Really upsetting considering how expensive it was. It look us forever to finally get the bill. I would say great place for drinks and apps, not for a meal. Save your lonely and go elsewhere. We spend over $400 there and I wasn’t worth that.
