We had a fabulous night at BLT. The food was delicious and the service even better. Our waiter Benjamin was phenomenal! Can’t wait to go back.
Don’t be afraid of the chicken liver patté it’s delicious. The popovers were awesome! I rarely like a steak that I don’t make myself and I’ve been to many steakhouses in Charlotte. The steak was cooked to perfection!
We had a great dinner before the Nutcracker! Service and ambiance was excellent! Food was incredible!
Wonderful experience. The food was excellent and the service was even better—genuinely friendly staff all around! Definitely our new favorite steakhouse in Charlotte.
We were staying in Charlotte on Thanksgiving night on our way to a wedding in South Carolina. We chose BLT Steak in the Ritz Carlton for our Thanksgiving dinner, as it featured a Thanksgiving meal. The service was excellent, but the food was such a disappointment. The turkey and gravy were terribly over-salted. The dressing and the dessert, carrot cake, were just not good. We noticed the guests at the table next to us did not eat their dessert either. The best part of the meal were the mashed potatoes and green beans. For a fixed meal price of $85 per person just for the food, not including tax, gratuity or wine, the quality of the meal should have been high. It was not. Avoid holiday meals at BLT Steak in Charlotte.
Went for Thanksgiving. Service was great, food tasted great but thought portions were quite small for the cost.
BLT was a lovely way to spend Thanksgiving when family is out of town. They serve the sides family style so you get to have a bit of everything, and there are leftovers to take home. Service was great, and Tony did a good job making us feel at home.
I bought a $60 ribeye and it was super tough. Aside from that it wasn’t even that tasty. It looked good but wasn’t. My wife got the filet and that was good.
Benjamin was an excellent server!
Dinner before the Elton John concert. The dining room was loud but attribute that to the loud bar noise. The service was excellent. The waiter and assistant waiters were very attentive. The steaks were outstanding as well as the Brussel Sprouts and Asparagus. Parking at the Ritz is a bonus!
I've been to other BLT locations but not this one. I was pleased that the food and service were excellent and what I would expect from the BLT Steak restaurants.
The ambiance lacked sophistication. Waiter was excellent. Food was prepared well however it was short on wow.
BLT was, sadly, just ok.
This was my second visit and it was very much reduced in quality of steak and in condition of dining room.
The meat was dry and lacking flavor or even proper salting. The barbecue corn was thankfully still superb! Mashed potatoes were too loose and the sticky toffee pudding was just ok.
Our table had several scorch marks, the chair backs were worn and dirty, and lots of wear-and-tear could be spotted without much effort.
If prices were cut in half, and it was not located inside a Ritz Carlton, it would be just fine, but as it is, BLT is not performing.
Wonderful experience in every way! Food and service were outstanding!!
We had a rather rocky beginning to our meal (seated at a noisy table right beside the kitchen entry; an indifferent and hurried server who made us feel like we were inconveniencing him by dining here; chose an entree only to find out after taking some time to decide that they were sold out of it). We switched tables and were served by Paula who was lovely and attentive. We were tempted to leave after our initial impression, but were happy we stuck it out as the food was delicious. We enjoyed the wagyu and sea bass (the dover sole was sold out). Both the mushroom and asparagus sides were nicely prepared and tasty. My husband enjoyed the peanut butter chocolate mousse for dessert. The room itself looks a bit tired and the rushing around of servers rather distracting if you don't like that kind of vibe.
Good food and wine selection. Average service. Ambience was substandard and felt more like a fast casual restaurant, not a high end place you would expect of Ritz Carlton. Maître D had a tough time keeping folks to task and it appeared a bit disorganized, as if they were undermanned for the evening. I can see the attempt to project a Vegas luxury vibe, but their efforts fall flat. Home to some showy clientele who appeared to be enjoying their first night out at a nice restaurant, and just like these customers BLT Steak seemed to be trying too hard.
Save your money and head to Capital Grille. I don’t regret my experience, but I will not return.
This is not my first visit. We came in this past Saturday. We were greeted right away, however I told him there was 4 of us for dinner. He told me that we were down for just 2.( I rechecked the reservation to make sure I was right) anyhow, we were seated, and ordered. Or appetizers were delicious. We had the crab cake, shrimp cocktail, Cesar salad and the ahi tuna. All were amazing. We ordered 5 sides with our steak. I ordered the tomahawk ribeye. I was over cooked and tough. Really upsetting considering how expensive it was. It look us forever to finally get the bill. I would say great place for drinks and apps, not for a meal. Save your lonely and go elsewhere. We spend over $400 there and I wasn’t worth that.
One of my favorite restaurants in Charlotte just because of its ambience! However we go there because of the service and food!
Great lunch as usual. Chopped salad with shrimp and swordfish sandwich - both outstanding.
The food was average, aside from the lobster cobb, which was phenomenal. As far as the service, the hostess and the servers were rude when I came in to make the reservation and again the day of until they were sure we would sit and order drinks. Our server said he was unable to split our checks unless it was in equal payments, but when we called we were told the checks could be split normally.
BLT is great for breakfast if you are not in a rush. Scrambled eggs, sausage and home fries were all excellent!
What a fabulous restaurant! The food and service are exceptional. The popovers are SO delicious!!!
We had a great experience at BLT Steak celebrating my brother's 26th birthday. They made it special and the service was impeccable. The food was really good. We had the bone in rib-eye, 2 regular rib-eyes and 2 filet mignons. All were cooked to order and we especially liked the mushrooms, asparagus and potato au gratin for sides. The cheesecake, toffee pudding and chocolate peanut butter mousse was also delicious. They brought one of the desserts out with a candle for my brother. The only issue we had was that it was a little loud and we had a hard time hearing each other. Would go back again but maybe ask for a table more out of the way.
The food was excellent but I was disappointed in the service. It was my husband’s 50th birthday and we were staying at the Ritz Carlton overnight to celebrate and go to a concert we had dinner reservations before the show and I had confirmed with them twice that it was a birthday celebration and if they could bring out a dessert with a candle after our meal. I was told no problem and assured it was in their notes in the system ...After our meal the waitress just brought the check no cake or birthday dessert so I asked her about it and she got defensive with a chip on her shoulder and said that she would have no way of knowing it was his birthday unless I told her even though I called earlier that day to confirm they told me it was already in their system. Oh well even though the food was great I will not be going back for my type of celebrations in the future.
Really disappointing. Food was mediocre. Had to send back one dish due to it being cold. Flavoring was overdone. This restaurant used to be so much better. Service was one bright light.
Bathrooms were disgusting. Had to go to hotel front desk to complain/request cleaning.
It is OK, not as good as other steak houses I have visited. It is also very loud.
Underwhelming to say the least. Popovers were ice cold, steak was extremely under cooked. Not worth the money. I’ll never be back.
My first time dining at BLT. Our server Meagan was attentive and once she was aware we were heading to a show after dinner she made certain we were on our way in plenty of time. The popovers and chicken liver pate were a delicious treat. I highly recommend and will return for sure.
We decided to eat at BLT for my son’s 15th birthday and we couldn’t have been more pleased. The level of service and quality of food was first class. Thank you for making his special day even more special.
Wonderful service ! Amazing food! We will be back!
Meeting Up with our three children and a couple of their friends who live here in Charlotte… We’ve been here in the past and the food was superb and the service was excellent…
Delicious popovers. Delicious chopped salad. Valet parking.
Our waiter Mike was fantastic. He made our special night so wonderful. We will definitely be back.
Dover sole wonderful and hard to find. Service spot on. Conversation friendly.
I eat at steak houses frequently. My dinner Tuesday night was the best tasting and prepared steak I have eaten since I can remember. I will be back soon.
Saturday night at The Ritz Carlton. That should create an amazing image in your mind, right? My date came to town to see me, and I recommended this hotel and restaurant. I have eaten at BLT several times. First of all, we couldn't get served in the bar area. So we had to go to the bar to get drinks. The Jazz trio that plays there is way too loud, and not that great. I was very shocked when we were seated in BLT how loud the restaurant was. And also very disappointed at The attire in which the hotel allows patrons of this restaurant to dress to eat in this location. It was ridiculous. The lighting was too bright. The wait staff seemed very hectic. In a fine dining atmosphere? You don't really see the staff. The service is great, but discreet. Not here. The food was unremarkable. I am very well traveled, and have patronized Ritz Carlton for many years. But although I live in Charlotte, I will not be returning to eat there anytime soon.
We had wonderful service. It was a special dinner for my husbands birthday and the manager and my daughter arranged the wine selection for our dinner.
Not impressed - we came here to celebrate our anniversary and noted as such in our online reservation. For this caliber of a restaurant, I expected the hostess to acknowledge it at the very least. Food was good but the overall quality and experience did not match the price for this restaurant.
The side of mashed potatoes needs to be larger since I'm sure most people consider it something to share. They are delicious but way too small of a portion for a shareable side dish. Asparagus were very plump but could have been cooked a bit longer.
Food was great. Waiter(Benjamin)was very knowledgeable and offered great advice and wine choices.
