Great! Delicious steak and excellent service !
I came here to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. Everything was perfect, from the Atmosphere, Service, and especially the food. We were greeted with a Pate that was delicious followed by a couple of Popovers that I really wanted more of (we were kind of embarrassed to ask for seconds). We ordered the Porterhouse for 2 with 2 sides and their Special Appetizer of the day which was Mussels. The seasoning on this particular steak was PHENOMENAL. Some steakhouses really drop the ball on this one, but BLT Prime seasoned it perfectly. The meat was tender and juicy. We had 2 sides, the Brussels Sprouts and Mac n Cheese. If I must critique one thing from BLT, it would most likely be the Mac n Cheese. We felt as though the pasta was a bit overcooked. HOWEVER, that in NO way ruined the evening for us. After we finished our meal, we ordered dessert and the floor manager surprised her with a dessert on the house! The plate itself had in beautiful handwriting "Happy Birthday Cindy". We loved this place and it was a shame we had not heard of BLT earlier. We will be coming back for years to come. Thank You! :)
The food is very over rated. Overcooked steaks, cold soup, bland fish. White wine was served room temperature, champagne was flat. Server was often hard to find.
I went with my boyfriend to Valentine's, was just wonderful service, exelent food, nice music amaizing wine red and white
Food was good. Service was great. However, our table was in this small room in the basement away from the main room and that caught me off guard. But the service made up for it.
Incredibly attentive staff. Our waiter was fantastic. Also the food was amazing. Literally the best steak I've ever eaten.
Becoming a fan. 4th visit in as many months. Def top 5 steakhouses in NYC on my list. Hen of the woods is the cherry on top.
Love it here! Great service and perfect steak as always!
Fantastic NY Strip steak - seasoned to absolute perfection! The side dish of the Hen of the Woods Mushrooms is a MUST! Creamed Spinach, French Fries and the Gruyere Popovers are also of course all wonderful. Excellent service and & extensive wine menu!
Continuing to impress with top notch service and excellent food. Yes there are the steaks but the appetizers are great, sides, seasoning of the steaks just really well done time after time.
Pricey but go
Food is now awful! We used to go here years ago. It was great. But after years of neglect, this place has gone down hill. Steaks are not good at all. They serve a large steak and they present it well, just too fool you. No good appetizers on the menu. Caesar salad was like they just took some old lettuce and threw mayo on top. Short rib was dry and over cooked. Menu has been the same for last 10 years. All this place has become is a glorified dinner. Also very expensive. Not worth it. Stay away.
Porterhouse was just ok at best. Great service and ambionce
Excellent dry aged steak, and perfect for people who don't like or want the extreme aged flavor.
Never fails to impress - the bread is amazing and steak was perfect - can’t wait to go back
Service was excellent, head waiter was attentive and informative. We really appreciated not being rushed or “drop checked”.
The kitchen is brilliant with all the meats and I can over look the lack of perfection in the fish entrees.
My guest was easy, however I noticed the less than perfect truffle mashed potatoe and onion ring sides. That’s inexcusable.
The liver pâte amuse bouche and the popovers were to die for as was the service.
We are long-time NYC'ers and over the past several years we have eaten at BLT Prime probably 4-5 times a year. The steaks were pretty good and it was a reliable nice meal. Unfortunately, it has slowly gotten worse and this past weekend we had perhaps the worst dining experience I've had in quite a while. I will not be going back to this restaurant.
Problem 1- The front desk and manager. We checked in for our reservation, but were given no information besides whether we wanted to check our coats so we stood there like idiots for 5 minutes. We watched the manager collected coats from a bunch of people nearby but no one decided to share any information for us on when we would be seated or if we should get a drink at the bar. The hostess chatted on the phone. We finally asked where we should go and they took us to our table.
Problem 2 - The waiter. He took our orders and then came back to tell me they were out of the entree I ordered. Instead of asking what else I would like, he left the table and didn't return for 10 minutes. I finally had to call him over to order my meal. We then waited for over 60 minutes for our meal. The table beside us, which arrived after us and ordered after us, got their meals about 10-15 minutes before us. We asked the waiter what was the problem and he said it would be "any minute". Our meals then came out finally after another 5 minutes of waiting. The medium rare "bone-in ribeye" was raw and had no visible bone. The bone-in filet was cold and had obviously been sitting there for awhile. We told the waiter and he said "there is nothing I can do about it" but asked if we wanted to see a manager. The manager came over and apologized, and said she would not charge us for one of the entrees.
When we were leaving another patron was complaining to the hostess about his "terrible steak" - so I don't think it was just us. Unfortunately, this restaurant used to be pretty good, but I will never go back.
With reservation had to wait a half hour. Restaurant is trying very hard to be upscale, but comes off like a fancy steak chain. Steaks were not worth it, I make better at home and I'm a bad cook. Would not recommend.
A few years ago we chose BLT Prime for dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday, and have been coming back now for 3 or 4 years in a row. The food is always great - steak (new York strip), fish (branzino), sides (brussel sprouts, fries), those pop-overs.
My wife likes to have a dessert with a candle in it, and BLT Prime does bring that at the end of the dinner. However, for some reason, the first time we did this, the dessert was free. For the past few years, we have been charged for it. It's a small point to quibble over...we are spending between $150-200 on dinner, so an extra $10 is not that much...but to me, it would make the night just a little bit better if the dessert was not put on the check. Just a suggestion. I am sure we will be back, though
