Excellent food with nice ambiance and helpful staff.
great popovers, wonderful go to on upper east side.
We went for dinner during NYC Restaurant Week. It was an exceptional value. The service was impeccable: every need was anticipated. The food was delicious - steak cooked perfectly. Sometimes Restaurant Week menus and portions are not up to par, but this one did not disappoint. We were glad to be introduced to BLT Prime.
This was the 1st time my daughter and son-in-law ate out together (just the 2 of them) since their new baby arrived on June 28th.
Myself (Opa) and my wife (Oma) babysat while they enjoyed a wonderful meal…thank you
food was delicious. steak was cooked perfect
Food was OK. The comp popovers were great. Cesar Salad not so hot--very dry, not enough dressing and no anchovies. Salmon was good, but nothing special. Panna Cotta was very good. This was from the restaurant week menu--very good value. Service very good. Nice room. Too noisy.
Always great food and service!
New Yorkers should leave their dogs home!!!
there were 2 dogs outside-- one at the table behind us and one at the table across from us.
It’s a great restaurant for neighborhood dining and special occasions
great steak and desserts. the UES is lucky to have you.
The choices were great for Restaurant Week and the $39 a buy. I would definately go back to this restaurant.
Restaurant Week 2021
Amazing food. Amazing service.
Nice rustic UES steakery.... Nice upstairs looking out over the action.
Great date place.
Amazing food, amazing service. Loved the atmosphere too!
Five of us went to BLT Prime for dinner. We had a wonderful round banquette table upstairs. Ambiance was delightful as was the service and food. Restaurant is beautiful inside! Some of us ordered off their Restaurant Week dinner menu. It was a Saturday night and they still offered it which was nice. Everything was delicious- chicken, steak, salads, eggplant, and desserts. Will definitely return.
Great food and service for Restaurant Week!
Came here right before I proposed to my girlfriend. She said it was the perfect night. Dinner was delicious.
BLT Prime was selected during NYC's Summer Restaurant Week, as it's in the neighborhood and because we'd never been there. Having eaten at it's Midtown, sister place, BLT Steak, we were anticipating a lovely evening. We weren't disappointed. Though Restaurant Week menus are often abbreviated, BLT Prime's offerings were perfect. An "on-the-house" pate + toast rounds was presented while we perused the menu. Then came the restaurant's signature popovers! Yum! My meal began with a seasonal, mixed tomato salad, dusted with ricotta cheese, followed by a perfectly cooked NY Strip steak. My companion began with a crisp Caesar salad, followed by a grilled (or seared) Scottish salmon. Dessert was the buttermilk panna cotta (creamy & delicious) and a berry sorbet with seasonal fresh fruit. Both perfect as meal-enders. Neither of us had wine, preferring the calories of dessert. Last, but not least - the ambience of the room, though busy, was serene, and the entire staff, from seating hosts to servers, were A+. While excellent food may be the initial draw, the environment helps create a successful experience. Be sure to visit BLT, soon.
If it was not NYC restaurant week, would I ever have found BLT Prime - I don't think so - Lexington Avenue is not my "go to" restaurant area (is it anybody's)! The surprise was pleasant and while the street door is modest the space inside is very inviting and our table upstairs overlooking below was perfect (will request it again next time). We enjoyed the $39 restaurant week dinner which was a good value and for that reason may have suffered a bit. Tomato salad as a starter was spot on, bacon starter not so much - dry and tough with an odd pesto mustard on top. New York strips as main were cooked spot on and only suffered from minimal amount of mashed potatoes on the side. Deserts were a selection of ice cream (massive portion) and a pannacotta with some crushed pineapple - sadly canned! These comments should be seen as positive for the $39 meal which was very good. But there is more - a nice liver pate was immediately brought to the table followed by popovers with herb butter and sea salt - both excellent! Rare that a restaurant week steak did not command a supplemental charge - nice! A quick read through a classic steak house wine list lead me to a good value red from Gigondas in Rhone. Daniel served us and he could not have been more brilliant - a jovial professional who took excellent care from us - an asset to the place. We had a quick chat with the manager as well and complimented how they used lapel pins to show that the staff had been vaccinated for Covid - great idea. Sitting high up in a beautifully vaulted space created perfect ambiance. The entire meal was paced beautifully and the acoustics allowed for a comfortable noice level - I may have heard more of my wife than usual!! I have been known for my critical reviews so let me summarize by saying that I will go back for the regular menu and I certainly will go back alone to sit in the bar, have a cocktail and take the hurry out of my life.
Brought my uncle who was from out of town to dine here. Staff was very attentive and wasn’t pushy with us. Had a great time and food was excellent.
Always great food and service.
Consistently good, food and service.
Awful. Forgot our drinks. Forgot one person in our parties order. Waiter more attentive to every table near us.
Steaks and sides were fantastic (ribeyes, bacon, mushrooms, creamed spinach) - crab cake app was great - “jumbo shrimp” were on the small size for the price - but whatever. Staff was pleasant and attentive, hosts were nice. Would go back. Oh…. And as always, the popovers were fantastic
The food was excellent, and the service was great. As pointed out by another reviewer, they can back off a bit in the service, especially when you are in a conversation. But I think they are just finding their rhythm, so it is a picky point! I will go back.
The food was subpar had better stake not worth the price
BLT Prime is an exceptional steak house with top quality food combined with the most professional staff in the dining industry. Management watches and always comes up to check on each table and their care assures you of a fine dining experience
apps mains and dessert all were very good. Notable was the extremely thin cut chips which neither of us had come across, and the chimichuri sauce was very tasty (we should have asked for more lol).
Service was pleasant but slow. Food was just ok - steak was tough (my dog had no complaints about the leftovers though), salmon fairly tasteless.
Very disappointed. The waiter made a mistake and had the bacon appetizer finished when the steaks were done. I specifically asked that we get the bacon with our drinks and the steaks after. When we got the steaks they were all over cooked, dry and hard to chew. Not the way it should have been. The waiter admitted he made a mistake and the restaurant should have made us new steaks but they didn’t. They tried to make it up to is with a piece of cheesecake that I didn’t even eat. Considering the reputation of the restaurant and the price we were all very unhappy and I not sure if or when we will go back
Our server was fantastic and gave great recommendations.
Rideigo our waiter, made our experience warm fun and wonderful! We will be back! The restaurant had great energy ambiance
Great experience for a birthday celebration
Last day of school!
Always a neighborhood favorite where we feel like family.
The service was way too fast and we were interrupted frequently to see if we were happy. I know there is a fine line between too attentive and not attentive enough, but this was too attentive!
In our party of 3, the 2 strip steaks ordered were inedible. Fortunately, the manager graciously offered to bring us something new to replace them. We then ordered filet mignons which were perfect. The manager also sent over side dishes and a shared dessert so she did her best to overcome the initial issue.
We had my sons graduation dinner there. It was amazing. They made it so special. We had the entire top floor to ourselves. The service was amazing!!!
