100% Plant-Based restaurant in Wicker Park by Chef Rodolfo Cuadros

We have always had the core belief of being as good to ourselves (and the earth) as possible, but as we grow, we have always wanted to do more. With this desire, we decided to open Bloom Plant Based kitchen. Not only is eating a more plant-based diet healthier and more forgiving to one’s body, but it is significantly better for the environment. In the same path in Bloom Plant Base Kitchen we are proud of our Beverage Program which includes NON-Alcoholic and Alcoholic crafted cocktails, local beers and vegan wines which are a key element to our pairing in our Chef Tasting Menu. Therefore, our intention with Bloom is to focus on bringing flavorful, healthy, and affordable vegan food to families while also being desirable and appealing to everyone regardless of their diet.

    Wow, we (4) ate at Bloom last evening and it was fabulous in all regards. It has the seeming ambience of casual yet the food and service are more fine dining. We shared 6 items, each unique and beautifully executed. My table mates were reluctant to try the Turnip Causa, commenting 'turnips?!' Fortunately, I prevailed and it is a stunning blend of textures and flavors, with fermented and smoked turnip, potato croquette, caviar and served like a small taco in a seaweed wrap. DO NOT PASS on this dish. Despite comments elsewhere on the endive salad, we found it refreshing and tasty, with the combination of endives, pickled onions, caramelized pecans, raisins, apple, kale, and perfectly dressed with a dill, lemon coconut dressing.. You get the picture. We also thoroughly enjoyed the crispy oysters (mushrooms), the arancini, the carbonara (with the chick pea cutlet), and the pea risotto. No room for dessert. They have a very nice and reasonably priced beverage menu and we opted for a lovely NZ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc that paired nicely with our food. Service was welcoming, attentive, and helpful.

    We had an exceptional time at Bloom! The food was absolutely fantastic, and the service was superb. We came to celebrate a birthday, and the staff greeted us with a “happy birthday,” put a card on the table, and brought out a surprise dessert. The interior decor and ambiance were lovely and bright. 10/10 would recommend!

    I went with 2 girlfriends. None of us are vegan or Vegitarian but enjoy plant based options. We started with cocktails and ordered three small plates and one large. Each was inventive and delicious. The turnip Causa was a tasty surprise. We were looking for one last small dish and the waitress recommended this. It was the first to arrive and set the bar high. We enjoyed each dish and a couple of desserts. We will be back!

    Excellent plant-based food with creative and flavorful dishes. Service is great - especially after the automatically 20% tip charge which is clearly noted on their website. Worth it!

    I am a vegetarian and therefore was excited to try Bloom. It was a bit disappointing. We had one very good dish, which was the Yuca appetizers with the carrot 'caviar'. It was innovative and tasty. The cheese board (cultured) was not. It was eating cheese whip with a few crackers. The only one that was good was the truffle. Just a big no. I know Bloom is vegan and so dairy is out but this was just an odd plate, some seeds on a board with a few grapes and whipped 'cheese'. We then had the endive salad which was fine but again, not memorable. Maybe we missed things by not ordering other dishes but by the time the 3rd one came and we were 'meh' we decided not to do more. As for the restaurant, it is fine. Moderate levels of noise, tables not too cramped. Waitress was fab. However, the person who was at the door on the night was not terribly welcoming and even though we had a reservation and the restaurant was barely 1/2 full, she seated us in a table that was right by the door and we had to asked to be moved. She did so without problems but why do this? Again, it was not busy so.... Just would not go back again.
