BLOCK ONE Restaurant at 50th Parallel Winery

This was an outstanding choice to celebrate a birthday! Started with a tasting then a long lunch in the covered patio - the flavours were fresh and the presentation was superb. Our server, Leah really added that polished touch and made it the most fun! Thank you!

Wonderful dining experience, food could have been hotter. We had the halibut and lamb and it was perfectly done but could have used a bit more seasoning. Service was great, atmosphere was very relaxed. All staff were very friendly. Highly recommended...

There was a set menu which we were not informed of when making the reservation which was for 1:30 pm. The only thing to choose from was eggs Benedict or avocado toast for meals, we had three children with us and no one in our party felt like eggs. We ended up ordering from the appetizer menu which had pizza on it, but were told that they were not making pizza that day as the dough was not ready. We ordered some appetizers and shared them between the group. Not being able to order meals was a huge let down as everyone was looking forward to it. If we had been informed at the time of the reservation or in any of the confirmation emails and phone call we would have made other arrangements and come back when we could have sat and enjoyed a meal. The patio is beautiful and the service was good but the overall experience was a real let down especially for the price.
An excellent place with great food, service and wine. The only thing missing was bubbles, but we were informed the restaurant will have a sparkling wine soon. The view is amazing. I would suggest reservations as this place is popular.
Mark was an outstanding server. Food was absolutely excellent. Atmosphere is gorgeous. All really outstanding. We will visit again when we are in town!
A wonderful modern facility. Staff are very friendly and competent. Alex, our server was excellent with a great sense of humour. She made our evening very enjoyable. We had halibut which was very tasty washed down with Pinot Gris from the vineyard.

First time at the 50th Parallel eatery Block One and it was a positive experience. Great design, great eclectic menu, super service. The place was about 60% full with noise level typical of the “industrial” design space but not as noisy as others in the same genre. Food was excellent, wine was a good experience. The chosen dessert (chocolate mouse affair) took a bit of work as the solid piece of chocolate was difficult to break through. All in all, a great evening.

Great pizza.... nice sear on halibut. Bit more burrata would have been nice. Wines but pricey.

Our visit to Block One was amazing! The food was exciting and unique (and way too hard to choose from all the great options!) The asparagus with the champagne cheddar sauce came out the winner of everyone's favorite dish.
Of course, the views were incredible but the service really topped off our whole experience. Justin, our server, was kind and professional. He was knowledgable about the menu without being overbearing or pretentious. The bartender sat us outside despite the patio not even being open, and even brought over a heater for us so we wouldn't get too cold. The manager was friendly and personable. He went above and beyond to make sure not only our time at 50th Parallel, but our visit to Lake Country was memorable. Thanks to everyone for a great birthday! We will absolutely be back :)

The food was amazing. Our waiter was great, his name was Mike and he knew alot about the wines and the food. Would love to go back in the summer and enjoy it outdoors as it was meant to be.

Delicious food, stunning views. Slightly over the top service, which is way too much for these British tastes! I do not want to be my wait-person's best friend.
Very assured touch in the kitchen and interesting menu. Fabulous view and landscaping. Rather cold architectural style, which leaves noise quite noticeable in the main restaurant space which is a very large open area. Could do with some design elements, as very spartan and a bit hangar-like. Good idea that the tasting crowds are kept separate from the restaurant - a tip that many other Okanagan wineries could follow.
Great venue for a delicious lunch with interesting, well executed food. Was driving so didn't try the wine, sadly, but judging by comments from fellow diners, it was excellent.
The ambiance was kind of cold and Jerry the lamb was undercooked my wife's had a lot of fat on it wasn't trimmed off properly waitress said that she would talk to the chef but I don't believe she really did then we went to pay for it we paid then she came back and said it wasn't paid then I have to show her my bank account to show her that it was paid also we already had coffee with the desert she forgot to bring the coffee so all-in-all not very good service
Beautiful place, good food but OVERPRICED wine in the restaurant and poor service. Does make any sense.
The 6 of us loved the whole experience! Highly recommend.
We recently moved to the Okanagan and this was are first visit to 50th Parallel. The setting was beautiful and we loved the modern aesthetic of the facility. The service was great with friendly attitude from all of the staff that we interacted with. We never felt rushed and enjoyed a leisurely 3 1/2 hours at the restaurant. Each dish from appetizers to desert was perfect. The 2018 Pinot Grigio was fantastic! Too bad there is no longer any available to buy. I guess we will have to come back for dinner again soon!
Go during the second half of happy hour, that runs into dinner. That's your best bet, so that you can order from both the happy hour dishes, as well as dinner dishes. If you can, drop by the winery tasting room before it closes at 5pm, to taste some wine, so that you will know what wine to order to go with the food pairing. The crab cakes during happy hour was only $10, in which we thought was a steal. The oysters we ordered were really fresh. The beef tartare as well as the scallop and pork belly entree were exceptionally good. In fact, the pork belly stole the show for me. The dessert we ordered fell a bit short for me though, as the creme brulee was a bit too liquidy in the consistency. However, the lemon sorbet that came with the creme brulee was absolutely delicious. Overall, I would definitely the foodies tom come out here for some wines and good food.
Block One is the perfect location to celebrate a special occasion. The atmosphere is gorgeous, the food is amazing, and the level of service is always spectacular. I treated my sister to birthday brunch and she felt very special being looked after so well on her day. Thank you to James and Mike for another wonderful experience!

The building, space, ambiance was spectacular. Really lovely. We felt a bit chilly as we hadn’t brought jackets. The menu was great as was the food. We are keen to return and will recommend it to others.
Two smallish things were:
1. A few more reds that aren’t Pinot Noir would be nice and not $120 like the one Shiraz
2. My husband and I shared a 32 oz prime rib. It and the roasted veggies were nice. But the little potato’s were absolutely without flavour and almost had a funny chemical taste to them. We didn’t eat them. Would have preferred roasted with light oil, salt, pepper and butter.
Server was great, food was great. Think it is a bit pricey for the portions. Love your Pinot noir but $60 a bottle is expensive for a bottle of wine with lunch.
Very tasty brunch, excellent service the the wine served for brunch was good. Would bring friends here anytime!
Mushroom appetizer was the best! Mac and cheese very good too. The charcuterie board was not impressive for the price. Otherwise we liked this place and will recommend to others for a great lunch. Service was really fantastic, our server was really helpful with providing suggestions for our group. Great service
It was our first visit to 50th Parallel and Block One restaurant. We had an absolutely delightful experience ! All of the staff were cheerful, fun, and passionate about the food and wine. They ensured we had a great time and that we were happy with our food. We will most certainly be back (have already made reservations for when our friends are here for holidays!)
Our party of six enjoyed a fabulous meal and a beautiful Chardonnay ! The view is stunning and the service was fabulous.
Wonderful evening celebrating a few birthdays with family. Excellent service and felt very lucky to get a cellar tour as well. We will be back soon!

Our first visit to 50th Parallel Winery and the Block One Restaurant. Pleasantly surprised with the modern architecture throughout the tasting area and restaurant. The food was terrific. I had the tenderloin and my partner had the trout. Both outstanding. Service was great, sunset was amazing. All in all one of the best nights we have had at a winery restaurant in a long time. The service was excellent. Our server Mike gave a brief history of the winery and recommended wines and his favourite dishes. We had the crab cakes to start and they were so delicious. It was a beautiful evening and watched the sun set as we began our meal, so romantic.
