Bliss is consistently among San Antonio’s best restaurants in terms of quality, service and atmosphere. Bliss is located just blocks away from downtown San Antonio in the burgeoning Southtown area. Our mission is to express excellence in the most inclusive, genuine and hospitable way. Bliss serves contemporary American cuisine. Our menu changes frequently with an emphasis on what is seasonal and creative over what is predictable and familiar. Our goal is to create a relaxed yet elegant dining experience in a genuine and comfortable environment.
I think this restaurant is the most great restaurant in San Antonio.
We have enjoyed our anniversary dinners with Bliss since they opened- Love this place and wish them much success so we can continue our tradition!!
Wonderful on all accounts
The food was amazing and the service was as well. Pricing is that of any upscale restaurant so it was expected to be higher than other places.
Excellent presentation and flavors. Quail the best I’ve had. Bouquet salad and wild mushroom soup special also excellent. Only drawback was too much sweetness, the America Achilles heel in food preparation. Sugar/honey/sweet fruit compote just not needed. Cheese course was slow to come out and selection a little too narrow, but still a satisfying end to a cordial, unrushed affair. Small but good wine list. Many affordable bottles.
We came for our anniversary and it was so good!
I researched restaurants for a girls’ trip to San Antonio from my home in Atlanta. Bliss came up as being extraordinarily good. The physical spaces are great. However, there were some serious issues with some of the dishes. My tower of crab appy was not lump crabmeat, it was mushy. Snapper was over cooked and dry. I had the scallops, which were described as accompanied by sautéed spinach and Anson cheese grits. Each of the three 1 1/2” diameter scallops was presented on a bed of 2 lightly sautéed spinach leaves and 2T of cold, flavorless, grits. Even Waffle House can make good grits in Atlanta. These were barely average as they were cold from the start and bouncy, not creamy. The scallops themselves were over salted, so that the salt overpowered the sweetness of the scallops. Being 1 1/2” in diameter, they were too small a portion for an entrée. They would be acceptable listed on the menu as an appetizer or small plate. The portion was so small that if a friend wanted a taste, your dinner was diminished by almost 17% if you gave them half a scallop. What was described as “sautéed spinach” was merely a garnish, not a side, as were the grits which fit under each of the two leaves. Have I said enough bad things about this dish yet? I can say one good thing about it. It photographs beautifully on their website.
There was a special of braised wild boar that evening which another friend had. She had no complaints, however she had shared good baked oysters before her entrée. The portion of boar looked to be about one standard measuring cup of food, including whatever the boar was resting on.
For dessert, we shared a piece of meh goat cheese cheesecake with “huckleberry “ sauce. Huckleberries do exist, but this was a mixed berry sauce with no huckleberries. I ended up regretting having chosen Bliss for my friends and myself. The bill for 3 was @$300 including one $30 bottle of wine. This restaurant would not survive in Atlanta. I recommend Cured in the Pearl district.
It was fantastic
Awesome food and environment
Dorian the GM was so personable and informative
A definite stop when in San Antonio
Our experience at Bliss was amazing! The food was of the highest quality, and I highly recommend the marrow starter, and the scallop and short rib entrees. And our server was so genuinely kind and very helpful with explaining menu items and drink choices. The atmosphere here is very homey yet sophisticated, which totally complemented the entire dining experience. Would love to go again!
Great service by Lico, he was an amazing waiter. Food was incredible and the atmosphere was lovely. We started out in the main dining room and then had dessert and coffee on the patio near the fire pit.
Food was great but a very expensive filet was cold and when sent back instead of a nice fresh hot steak it came back overcooked.
Service was terrific.
Our dinner at Bliss was Amazing!! The chef has created some incredibly unique and delicious food offerings. The baked oyster appetizer and apple salad starters were fabulous....followed by the wild boar entree.....Perfection. The ambience was very relaxing and romantic.....this place is a Total Ten!!
I live in Chicago, arguably the best City in the country for restaurants. Imagine my surprise when I come to San Antonio and get one of the best meals of my life at Bliss. Appetizers, main course and desserts were all spot on and absolutely delicious. HIGHLY recommended!
The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. The atmosphere is very nice and we were able to have a conversation without contending with ambient noise. We chose Tomato Ancho soup, bouquet lettuce salad with roasted jalapeño ranch dressing and a couple of Vegan platters. Each item was 5 star in terms of presentation, flavor and serving size. This along with a couple of glasses of Head High Pinot noir made for a fantastic dinner.
Bliss never fails to amaze us . Beginning with the service and food, always exceptional. Will continue to dine at this restaurant.
We heard that Bliss was the best restaurant in San Antonio, and now that we’ve finally tried it, we would have to agree! Get the oyster sliders—absolutely amazing.
Dinner was excellent, great wine choices as well. Service was impeccable. Will definitely return!
Baked oysters were exceptional. Whole branzino was good, if slightly overcooked. Accompanying vegs were forgettable. I don't give five stars unless the sides equal the main. It's what differentiates excellent from just good for me. 'Pecan pie like' dessert was good, but a slice of the real thing would have been better. Service was very good.
The cuisine was exquisite, especially the baked oysters. The service was impeccable. The ambiance was elegant, but not uptight. The only part I didn’t care for was the noise level. You can’t blame the restaurant, though. Americans are loud.
Best Meal we had while visiting San Antonio. Our server was excellent (30yrs experience working with chef) and the food was amazing. From the octopus, wild boar, duck Foie Gras to the goat cheese pistachio cheesecake each bite was delicious.
Great food, small portions which isn’t a bad thing. Everything on my plate was delicious.
Just went to have dinner with a group on such a perfect evening! Sat in the Wine Room which is always my favorite place to sit!
I had the Duck Foie Gras dish! Rich and Filling! My husband and I shared the Wedge Salad! Perfect in presentation as well as being tasty!. He loved the Spare Ribs! Everyone else enjoyed their dishes as we did! Ending with dessert! Pecan Pie is always a standby!!
Keep up the hard work!
This is still the best restaurant in San Antonio. Food is fantastic and creative. Atmosphere is really good. The only downside is that it is a little loud but what restaurant isn't loud these days. Service has always been top notch. Highly recommend it.
Highly recommend to anyone who can. Priced decently high but worth every penny
This was the best restaurant I have ever visited for in SATX. Everything was incredible, cannot think of anything that I could criticize. Will definately go back hopefully sooner than later. Bon appetit
Food was amazing and our server, Marcy, was THE BEST! Great dining experience. Can't wait to go back.
The food was good...not exceptional. But the service was excellent. I sat at the bar and the woman who served me was fabulous!
The service fantastic, food fantastic, decor fantastic, 2 of us are out of town and the other 2 guests are local and can never get in, we were never rushed or hovered over
Henry is a great member of your team and your culinary team platinum all the way
Excellent food put a little on the pricey side. Very nice ambience.
Best dining experience I’ve had in San Antonio. The service was outstanding, great wine list, and the food is exquisite. Highly recommended for any special event!
Simply amazing!! From the wonderful service and ambiance to the very delicious food. Went there for a special occassion after not being in 2 years and quickly remembered to not wait so long until the next visit!
Excellent. Waiter was fabulous
Bliss is my favorite restaurant in San Antonio. It never disappoints. The most annoying part of going to Bliss is trying to choose the best entree from their amazing menu, because everything is just so delicious!
Lived up to all the hype! Well done to all involved. My wife and I had a great time for our 12th wedding anniversary:-)
Service and food were amazing. Best service I have had in San Antonio.
First time at this restaurant! We made reservations well in advance for our anniversary - reservations fill up fast especially for prime times and days. We were immediately welcomed and seated by staff. Our wait staff was super friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and its items. The charcuterie tray, which is customizable, is a must! We ordered the scallops and duck breast and were not disappointed! Too full to order dessert, we opted out of ordering a dessert. They did bring us a complimentary anniversary chocolate (made in house). A fantastic ending to a fantastic meal. We have plans to return!
Jerry was a super with his vast knowledge of menu items and recommendations. The food far surpassed our expectations. Level of noise was absent so that we could converse and enjoy each other.
One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Their lobster bruschetta appetizer was amazing! Service was top notch and the food was worth every penny
Awesome dinner. Scallops were some of the best ever had. Friendly, helpful service. will return.
