Very nice atmosphere. Service was excellent. Food was just okay. Certainly not a good value.
It was awesome
Server was incredibly attentive, helpful, and personable! Food was delicious, of course. A perfect dining experience for a celebratory night out!
Excellent food and service. Scallops and short ribs were amazing. Lobster bisque is good but not great and pricey at $12 for a very small bowl. Overall a really great restaurant. Outdoor courtyard is very nice.
One of the best dining experiences I have ever had. Incredible service, even better food.
What can I say? Bliss is truly Blissful with its wide variety of eclectic food choices. Always a struggle between the many excellent items. We normally pick several of the small plates although I don’t like sharing the bone marrow so I get two orders. Please try Bliss, you won’t be disappointed with the full experience.
Perfect restaurant to go on a date
Valentines
Outstanding as always. The pork belly appetizer was mouth watering
It was Valentine’s Day and our babysitter showed up 25 minutes late so we were running late and I gave a call over to let them know. They said they couldn’t make any promises but we got there and they had a table waiting for us. Amazing to know they got your back
Excellent food and service. The atmosphere was great and really enjoyed the music and how they mixed tracks.
Service could be better. Server not skilled in wines. Although plenty of seating, we were given poor table.
Based off the positive reviews we saw online we decided to try Bliss!
From the moment my girlfriend and I arrived, we were impressed by the stylish and sleek design of the building. Our server informed us that it was a converted old gas station and service garage. They tried to keep as much of the original feel of that space while modernizing the space to fit a restaurant.
We were there for Valentine’s Day and they had a preset 3 course menu and price. We got the charcuterie board, selected three items: chorizo, duck breast, and a Croatian cheese with herbal olives and a honeycomb. It was an amazing variety of flavor and texture to begin the meal. It came garnished with amazing brown mustard and pickles to balance out the sweet with the savory items. We both got the lobster bisque for our first course which was rich and creamy. We also both had the beef tenderloin as our main course and I opted to add the lobster to my entree. The entree came with a side of asparagus, some fingerling potatoes, and a few button mushrooms to round out the plate. There was some gravy that also the beef came with that added richness that sent us both over the moon. Portions were also very generous. We finished with the cream brûlée for her and the goat cheesecake for myself. Both were well executed and pleasing to both the eyes and palette.
We had not had a better meal up to this point. The service was attentive but not disruptive. The bill came to $240 with a well deserved $60 tip.
We both look forward to returning to San Antonio and eating here again.
Valentines
One on a short list of San Antonio’s finest and most interesting restaurants. Predictably great experience.
Food is fantastic, probably best in San Antonio and we live here, and waiter was great as well.
Fantastic service, beautiful inside and patio space. Limited menu but delicious. We had the braised short ribs and two salads which were fresh and excellent. We also had the deconstructed pecan pie. Nice wine and beer list too. Special occasion spot. Very pricey, figure 100 pp w tax and tip.
This is our favorite restaurant in San Antonio. We usually go for special occasions, but we decided we need to go more often to treat ourselves. We had dinner the day before Valentine’s Day because they were booked up for Valentine’s Day. We started with the pork belly and it was very good. My wife had the wedge salad and I had the mushroom soup which we both enjoyed. My wife had the redfish with risotto and I had the duck breast with foie gras. Both were great. Looking forward to our next visit.
Absolutely loved it . Everything was perfect . Looking forward to our next celebration
Food was prepared as well as I have come to expected from Bliss. I did not get my money's worth during this visit. No worries...we will return.
Service was exceptional and meal was superb. Definitely a diamond in the rough. Highly recommend this establishment to anyone whom like fine cuisine.
Wonderful service, delicious food and wine. A special place for a date or celebration!
Great food, atmosphere and service. If you want an good dinning experience romantic or with friends this is the place
Excellent describes it very well! Consistently delicious with great service. Relaxing, comfortable atmosphere.
The service was great. The pork belly as well as the apple salad were outstanding. However, the Short Ribs were a little bit of a disappointment. They were somewhat dry and flavorless. The filet was fine.
Was looking forward to a great dinner, however the food was mediocre, but we had great service. Ordered baked oyster, sashimi tostados, scallops, and prime tenderloin all of which were just okay.
Always a wonderful time. The food was amazing, our server was great. Love this place!
The Duck/Foie Gras entree was one of the most delicious plates of food I’ve ever had! My guests also thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Our server was professional, gracious and also accommodating to my daughter’s vegan requests. Wish this place was in my neighborhood and not half way across the country!
Still a fine dining experience, but not an exceptional or or a good value. Having been there twice it's certainly well done and upscale, but compared with other local fine dining places of equal culinary imagination and quality I think it's a bit overpriced. Portion sizes on the appetizers are small; prices for several of the entrees more than comparable quality items are elsewhere. and while quality is generally excellent we've had a few average dishes as well. Service is attentive -- excellent our first time there a few months ago; average more recently. It's a fun place to eat though, not on the usual beaten northside paths.
Had a great time! Service was attentive, but not overwhelming. Timing in between courses was perfect. Food was delicious, especially loved the fried oyster sliders and the wild boar dish.
The charcuterie and entrees were exceptional, and the atmosphere pleasant. Our waiter was slow, inattentive, and forgot part of our appetizer order completely. The desserts were underwhelming, and they don’t have a full service bar. I’ve never been to this level of a restaurant and not had a cocktail menu to choose from. I sound like I’m complaining a lot, but I’m just trying to give a full picture. Our entrees were really very good, and with a better waiter, it would have been a really delightful meal.
My wife food was good. My B trout over cooked and dry. Spice cake dry, no flavor. Very disappointing.
My boyfriend and I had the most wonderful time at Bliss! Our waiter was very friendly and assisted us when we needed it. The manager for the night, Sam, was very knowledgable about the wine list and gave great recommendations. The food was outstanding! Appreciate Chef John's talent!
We had the chef's table in the kitchen. The food was outstanding. The Pork belly was to die for. The oyster sliders were really good. I had the Pan Cooked tenderloin and it was so good. The deserts were over the top. They have a butter cake with homemade ice cream that was warm and one of the best things I had ever eaten. I had a bite of a dark chocolate flourless cake that melted in my mouth. We drank some really nice wine. The kitchen was lively and the service was excellent. This is a do not miss restaurant in San Antonio.
We went during restaurant week and it was fabulous. Will definitely be back.
The food is always delicious and beautifully presented. They have some very good wine. The back room is really nice if you want to have a conversation without much background noise. The butter cake was superb and plenty of dessert for two people!! The redfish was fantastic!
Restaurant week's menu was outstanding! The food was delicious and unforgettable! Service was excellent!
I do not recommend this restaurant. Service was poor, food was overpriced and overcooked. Wine pairings were not pairings but the same wine, which was not good, was served to each table. Will never return.
Everything was above par- Food, Wine, and Service were all excellent. Highly recommended.
After hearing numerous accolades about Bliss Restaurant being one of the best restaurants in San Antonio, my friends and I decided to try it out during restaurant week. Later, we wondered what all the fanfare was about. I ordered the pork belly appetizer and the wild boar. The pork belly was dry and not fatty enough for my taste, and the wild boar was bland and not as tender as I have had it at other restaurants. My friends had the beef short ribs and Hamachi Tostadas. The Hamachi Tostadas were ok but only two on a long, rectangular plate made the portion look even more sparse. The short ribs were tasty but the portions were so small that my friends said they went away hungry. We all agreed the price we paid was not worth what we got. On the plus side, the service was excellent.
