Our Chef’s take inspiration from Billy Madison who drew a blue duck because he had never seen one before, and he wanted to see a blue duck! Well, since our chefs love classic Adam Sandler humor and innovative cooking, we thought that Bleu Duck was the perfect name to showcase our fun environment and staff as well as our unique and creative menu. Just like Billy, we like to try things that you’ve never seen before! 
 
Bleu Duck Kitchen and Oyster Bar is a full service restaurant that provides a fun and welcoming atmosphere where white linens meet a casual feel to create the new concept of “fun-dining”. Co-Owners Erik Kleven and Jennifer Becker regard each customer as a welcomed friend, and aim to provide them with an experience that is both personal and unique every time they visit.

    We always make it a point to finish our Mayo Clinic Rochester trip with a visit to BD. This is our fifth experience and it NEVER disappoints. The servers are off the chart great with wonderful personalities and superior knowledge of all the unique dishes the kitchen puts out. Great selection of craft cocktains and Ducktails (NA). Intersting wine list with super reasonsable prices on both F & B. Pich created a wonderful and well paced dining experience. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. Truely a taste celebration in a very curated environment. Nothing not to like at the Bleu Duck. M2

    A most enjoyable experience. The food choices and quality were both excellent, and the staff super friendly. I was dining alone, but nevertheless they made me feel most welcome. Highly recommend. It was definitely a plus that I could get a good glass of red Burgundy!

    Service was great once we stepped thru the front door. Our server was fantastic. Menu is interesting & has a good degree of variety. Many items can be shared. Wine list very good. Save room for desert!

    We come to Bleu Duck for special occasions and when we want to feel special. The staff here always do a good job and Corbin was no exception. Service is excellent. We are grateful the food is made in house so even though the menu shows everything with meat, we are able to order most things without. We ordered a starter of "Saturday Morning" without sausage gravy and it disappeared quickly. I ordered the omelet without ham. It was still very salty and the salad and side of corn salsa balanced the flavors out nicely. My hubby had the huevos rancheros without chorizo and added a side of corn salsa and was very happy. And my friend ordered the waffle and loved it. We ended with the house doughnuts which were also delicious. The bottomless mimosa was a nice accompaniment. Because of the holiday weekend it was a bit quieter than a regular brunch crowd. And there was still a musician singing easy listening hits which added to the ambiance.

    It was our first time at the bleu duck and me and my partner were blown away by the food and service. Our waiter was very attentive and was able to go above and beyond. Drinks were amazing and the presentation of the food was beautiful. 10/10 will be returning again.

    It’s a great place! The only issues were they were out of one of their craft beers on tap and two of the starters. Our waitress was great and full of energy!! Good is always good! P.S. Why do these surveys have to be a “minimum of 50 characters “? Also these surveys are too long!

    The Mother’s Day brunch was delicious. Loved the mimosas too. Dani was a wonderful waitress. So kind and attentive. My husband tried oysters for the first time and loved them.

    Made reservations for Mother’s Day based on brunch menu. There was no mention of buffet when we booked. We drove an hour to get there only to find out it was a buffet for $55/person. Classic scrambled eggs, egg bake, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns buffet for $55. They did have a table of fresh shucked oysters and some salmon which were good but the food offered would never justify the heavy price. The worst buffet price/value I have ever experienced. And after having made a reservation for Mother’s Day, there wasn’t a lot of options to walk away. It was the worst value I have experienced and was a total rip off for moms on Mother’s Day. The very friendly service team was the bright spot to the visit.

    Love the vibe and decor, very trendy and somewhat minimalist. Server just a tad too personal sharing their personal activities, but trying to be friendly and engaging. A bit disappointed in starter if course, the Hawaiian rolls appeared to be just your run of the mill store bought Hawaiian rolls warmed up in oven. No additional prep, just warmed up store bought rolls. I would have chosen another starter had I known. Steak was wonderful! Ramen soup was just okay. Would try again and choose different menu options, as we very much enjoyed the ambience.

    We come to Rochester once a year for a week for our executive physicals. The first reservation that we make for dinner is always the Bleu Duck. Innovative, delicious and we always know that we will have amazing service. This year we have 2 reservations on two different nights because our amazing server told us the menu was changing. Highly recommend!

    We dined here this time for a birthday dinner. Darren did a great job guiding us through the menu to accommodate dietary needs. The cornbread fritters were a hit with everyone. We ordered two salads -one cauliflower and one beet and shared among the five of us. They have Hawaiian rolls on the list of starters but we didn't seem to miss a bread basket and didn't order one. Three of us had oysters, which were lovely if a tad small this time. They were served with saltines and cholula and a house vinegar. We didn't use the saltines or cholula and we had to ask for cocktail sauce, horseradish, and extra lemons. We each had a different entree (meatloaf, steelhead, shrimp and grits, mahi mahi, escargot) all of which disappeared with no leftovers. Note portions are enough for an average diner although someone with a bigger appetite may not be satisfied. We ordered three desserts (key lime pie, flourless chocolate torte, chocolate crepe stack) and shared so everyone got a bite of everything and it was perfect. We were impressed the wine list had several reasonably priced bottles. We had sparkling rose and a Beaujolais, both of which worked well across the variety of food. We had a great time as always which is why we come back regularly. Parking is free after 5 pm on the street, in the alley, or in the next door bank parking lot. There's no handicapped parking nor handicapped entrance although tables can accommodate a wheelchair.

    A nice place for a special dinner. The place is not too big, and it's kind of contemporary retro with exposed brick walls and open kitchen. What's quite rare for Rochester is the great selection of oysters and the pretty decent cocktails. The servers are nice and friendly. The food is very good, with some rather original options if you look for something new. We enjoyed very much the whole experience and would definitely go back.

    I have traveled all over the world and have been blessed with many extraordinary dining experiences. With that said, Bleu Duck Kitchen is always in the top of my experiences. Jennifer does an extraordinary job running the show with great care for the customer and their experience. Darren was also a fantastic waiter making everything special! Rochester is blessed to have this jewel!
