   As a first timer I really enjoyed the restaurant theme of classic grays and white. The server was knowledgeable and friendly. Made great suggestions. Gave us extra bread to soak up the sauce from the prawns we had for our snacks. Wonderful to share our courses of fish and farro. Value was good for an elegant experience.

   Blend 111 is a gem in "old town" Vienna. Stays true to its Latin roots with a lot of variety. Really terrific service, too!

   Even though I called to let them know we were 5 to ten minutes behind, the hostess made me feel like not coming when she filled me in on their 15 minute right to cancel you policy. That was not the best start! Then I ordered drinks and starters only to be told chef prefers I order the whole meal at once. We’ll I’m hungry and not sure about the rest. They’re called “snacks”! They assured me then chef would probably be ok with it. With what? Me ordering food!? Beer was forgotten and server blamed backup of bar which is never a good look. I can see the bar, you clearly forgot. All these things aside, food was delicious and the server was sweet. I just think they may have gotten a bit too big for their britches. We went next door for dessert to Bazins. Much better vibe and everybody was welcoming.

    We’ve had the same wait person twice now— Gabriela. Very friendly and charming and willing to answer my husband’s MANY questions. The halibut was very fresh and cooked perfectly. The chicken was very moist and well seasoned. We really went back mainly for the desserts. There are no words to describe how yummy they are! We could actually have a conversation—the noise level is very acceptable. We will be going back!

    We had a great Valentines Day dinner. Our server was great and the food and drinks were outstanding! All very fresh, unique, and very tasty. I cannot recommend Blend 111 highly enough.

    We were seated at 11:45, our reservation time. Our food did not arrive until 40 minutes later. Even our one glass of wine and hot tea took a long time to arrive when there was only one other table occupied in the restaurant at that time. It was curious as to why everything was taking so long & we were very hungry. We were seated right by the kitchen & heard most of the conversations of the chef and cooks, “One poached egg was supposed to be hard boiled.” We heard the orders they were juggling as they discussed them. They might consider only seating that table if there are none others left. We had a legitimate reservation. With the restaurant near empty, only one table in the front window filled, why would we be seated where we would hear everything from the kitchen. Not a good first experience for us. We had heard of rave reviews. Lastly, my mushroom hash was not hashed at all. It was pieces of mushroom with many small potatoes. The poached egg for an up charge saved the dish, but not by much. Thank goodness I agreed to the up charge. I feel bad giving such a negative experience, but this really is what we experienced. I’ll end with saying that two of the party had the French toast & enjoyed it immensely.They gave it a solid A+.

    The roasted carrots with hazelnut was amazing. My red snapper with coconut curry may be the best fish that I have ever eaten. The service was impeccable, attentive with out being overbearing. The wine selection is top notch. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

    Pretty expensive and nothing to write home about. It is one of those “culinary experiences”. I won’t bore you with everything we had. It was all ok. Nothing was really bad or amazing. But for the money, meh. If you got $250 bucks to burn and wanna try something different this is the place for you.

    Service was great 100%. Loved the gin based cocktails! Food was amazing until we got to deserts, honestly we left half of the tres leches and makena chocolate since they were overwhelmingly to the palate. Will still go back for the creative main dishes and appetizers, just skip the desserts!

    Our first time at Sunday brunch at Blend. It was great. The Sun chokes were a special treat. We will be sure to return. We are fans of their dinner menu as well.

    While the food was cooked perfectly and plated in aesthetically pleasing way, I thought portions of the main courses came out cold (specifically the sides) and the meat in my dish lacked flavor. The restaurant overall is beautiful and the staff are incredibly kind and attentive. Just the food I was a bit unimpressed with.

    They were out of Arepa's (the reason I picked this place, since I am Gluten Free). The menu is too small. I like a small menu, but if you are out of some things on a Saturday night and your menu is small, well... The entrees are good (we had Red Snapper). The fish was fresh and well portioned (bone free), needed a tad more seasoning on the sauces. Also, whatever oil you flash fried my fish in, seemed to be old or just cheap oil. I'd rather a seared piece of fish, finished in the oven than one dropped into cheap oil. However, the entrees need some vegetables. If you are a la carte, then put some side veg on menu, but don't serve me a piece of fish and rice without a green veg (sauteed spinach, asparagus, chard, something). Premium mocktails were good, but pricey and small. Service was great.

    Upon arrival, someone on the Blend 111 staff had mistakenly cancelled our reservation so we were unable to dine there. I contacted the restaurant the following day and received a quick response and resolution. Looking forward to our do-over special night out.

    Server was nice and accommodating. The menu for brunch is very small, and with a small menu, one would hope that every dish would be a 10/10. Unfortunately, the French toast was dry and bland. The avocado toast was nothing special. The mushroom hash was good, but not filling. The horchata was bland. The server forgot to put in our appetizers until halfway through the meal. Basically, it was just all a miss. We’ve had better meals at Blend 111 in the past but I honestly think we’ll be taking this one off our list for the future.

    I’m never disappointed when I come here. While I was expecting the old menu, the new menu was fabulous. There were three of us in our party and not one grain of rice, nor corn was left on our plates. I had the vegan dish, which was delicious and the other two had the market fish which was prepared beautifully. and that little chocolate cake with a candle at the end for the birthday celebration added a perfect touch. I will be back. Count on it!

    There were 4 parties in our table. We were 2nd table to be seated around 11:30AM. Another 2 to 3 customers came after us. We ordered our food and 2 starters to get our meal for the day. The orders from all of the other tables came in, but ours. It took about 40 to 45 mins before our orders arrived. No explanations were given. Not a good service overall.

    This was our first time at Blend and definitely will not be the last time! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. From the moment we walked in the staff engaged with us, even to just say hi and that they would be right with us. The front of the house team worked together seamlessly gliding between tables refilling water glasses, clearing tables and checking in on us. The atmosphere is lovely with natural wood paneling that is attractive and absorbs sounds nicely. The exposed clean concrete floor created a clean, modern look, however, the natural wood accents with the large unique art works on the wall kept it warm and cozy. The food was excellent. We had the prawns with 'charred bread' which we've never had before and it was absolutely delicious...we used it to soak up every last bit of the delicious smoky sauce the prawns were served with. We had the arctic char for our main meal, which was also delicious. The fish was flaky and delicate served abed coconut rice and some fantastic cream sauce we also cleaned up from the plate! We even split the chocolate mousse type dessert on almond shortbread. I had a lovely full bodied Spanish red wine that they recommended with expertise and we also had a smoky mezcal drink that was top notch. The vibe was really cool and just right and that includes the music choices and volume level. The place was sold out and lively but not loud at all. Our only wish was that the bar had seating as we really wanted to stay and hang out and have another drink or two :). We highly recommend Blend 111 and can't wait to go back!!

    The overall experience at Blend is always very good. The staff are attentive and kind (unless it’s swamped then expect it to take a while longer especially towards the end of the meal). The appetizers and drinks are what really strike me as delicious while the mains are somewhat overpriced for what you get. I will say it’s great for a special occasion!

    My husband and I were finally able to get out for a long awaited date night to celebrate my birthday. We were rather put off by the attitude of the hostess, who canceled our reservation after being only a few minutes late, and WELL within the grace period. We were essentially scolded and told that we should’ve called, which we normally do when necessary. As a frequent diner in restaurants of all types, a chef and recipe developer and gourmet foodie myself, I am well aware of how the process works. We were then told that we had another reservation coming for our table at 8:15 PM. Our reservation was at 6:30. Not only were there plenty of tables available at 8:15 PM, which we noticed because we sat in view of the door, but no one actually showed up at 8:15 PM. Luckily, our server and the food made up for the chilly reception. The server was friendly, enthusiastic, and did his best to pace the meal. We immediately ordered our drinks, appetizers, and entrées all at once, since we felt pressure from the hostess. But the last thing we want on a long awaited celebration meal is to feel rushed, and that did put a damper on things and did not make us feel welcome. We had the tamarind, spiced ribs, snapper, Arepitas, with avocado, and grilled bread. The food was very tasty and thoughtfully composed. I would’ve liked a little more sauce on the ribs, and a little less char on the bread. Given the mixed experience, I’m not sure whether we would return again anytime soon. There are exemplary restaurants in the DMV, and we are spoiled for choice. I would rather spend our hard earned money at a place where we felt more welcome.

    Part of the charm at Blend 111 is the friendliness of the staff. As soon as we walked in the door, we were greeted with a smile and a bit of pleasant conversation. Our waitperson took the time to both explain the menu and engage with us on a personal level while remaining professional. And the food!! It was a bit of a culinary adventure and very good. We are definitely planning on a return visit.

    All of the food was delicious. The drinks were outstanding, including the best mojito I have had in a long time. The staff was prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable. It was a great choice for a friends’ gathering and would be great for a date night. I will definitely be returning.

    Staff were super friendly and nice. I was expecting way more with the food given all the hype I have heard. Sorry to say but the food did nothing for me when it came to taste. Very bland but the way they recreated the dishes was cool. What restaurants doesn’t carry club soda as well, they do have cans if you don’t have a fountain drink dispenser, didn’t mind getting the sparkling water bottle. Only thing is I was with some other colleagues and wasn’t sure if they would be ok since we were all splitting the bill. Wouldn’t be on my list to go back. 😞
