The service and food were excellent. Loved the french toast made with challah bread. And it was a good ambiance. Super quiet the weekday morning we dined there. The only reason I didn’t rate it higher was for the cost. (A cup of coffee was bottomless and good, but at $3.25???). Our 2 person bill before tip was $34 and change. I just think that’s a lot for breakfast with only coffee to drink. Highly recommend this place for a special breakfast

My wife and I had our first BLD experience with the Valentine's prix fixe menu. The service was outstanding, as were both of our meals. The arancini appetizer and shrimp and lobster risotto were definitely the winners of the evening, but the pork belly was delicious as well!

A group of us had brunch on a Sunday. Of course it was super busy, but luckily we had reservations. We were seated immediately. The wait staff were all very busy, so service was a little lacking, but the food made up for it. The biscuits and gravy were good, but different from the original version. The biscuit was light and fluffy, but the gravy was slightly spicy and had a red color...The chicken and waffles were amazing and we even ended up ordering a second one for the table! The overall experience was good and we will definitely go back.

First let’s start with the service. Upon entering the host/waitress seemed a little it off - rude - but don’t let that deter you. I am a pretty good natured person and some smiles and a slight comment reference greeting folks turned things around. After that initial interaction things got much much better and service was much improved. The food was delicious- I unfortunately we did have to wait a very long time for it and the meat had to be sent back because it was overcooked the first time. By the time we got the right stuff we were not really that hungry and no discount was offered for the inconvenience. Me and the family May try it again if we are back in town. Everyone else’s food looked scrumptious so it deserves another try.

If you desire AMAZING food, drinks, and a quaint atmosphere, eat here! My girlfriend and I always visit here often. Everyone is treated like family. The food definitely meet our expectations and is Michelin Star quality.

Everything was great, but my hit tea was not hit. Also, our food took longer then it should have for the simple items we ordered. On another note our server was awesome as well as the food.

We were just looking for a place to eat near our hotel, and happened to come across BLD Diner. Their menu had plenty of tasty-sounding choices, so we decided to order a few things and share. We were not disappointed. You could tell they put some thought into the plates, which was refreshing and a little exciting, and everything tasted great. My favorites were the pimento cheese appetizer, the meatloaf and the crab cakes. The staff were really friendly and helpful as well.

Nice to have a great restaurant open on a Sunday evening in Columbia. So few choices other than chains. The food was amazing. They were out of one of our entrees so the chef came out personally to apologize and offer a substitute. That was a very classy way to handle it. I had the Brick Chicken and it was really moist and was some of the best chicken I've had.

Good food but the service wasn't worth it. Went on a Sunday morning had had to wait about 20 minutes for waitress to take our orders then another 45 minutes for food to come out. We also ordered biscuits which had to remind the waitress to bring and she told us they needed to make more. While waiting we saw other tables getting biscuits who came after us- we still never got any!

This restaurant is so much more than the pictures on here. Definitely not the normal diner you would think of. Super cute trendy vibe and very clean. The food was delicious, we got four different meals and they were all great! Our waiter was fantastic! Definitely make reservations because there were a lot of people waiting to get in. It is moderately loud which we didn’t mind at all and the food took awhile which was worth the wait. We will be going back for sure!

We really all enjoyed the experience and food. The staff was fantastic- from the hostess to bartender to manager to kitchen staff to our server. We had really positive interactions with everyone. We loved every item we ordered (including craft cocktails). The fried green tomatoes over pimento grits dish was a favorite for all of us. Everyone left full and happy.

Overall delicious! Highly recommend ordering the brussel sprouts for appetizers and the scallops were excellent! Bench was a little hard.......french fries were a little too salty..... but otherwise .......very highly recommend this quaint place (diner) 👍🏻👍🏻

Despite having made confirmed reservations through OpenTable in the early morning we arrived on time at lunch to be told they had unilaterally cancelled all reservations b/c they were "too busy". They had made no attempt to notify our party or make other arrangements. Such management carelessness and lack of concern for customers is disgusting. They are on my boycott list.

Just great overall experience. The food is like a gourmet dinner food. Try the hot chicken sandwich with some wonderful tomato slaw or if you’re going for breakfast - their waffles are fantastic! We loved our servers!

Came in for Sunday brunch on a recommendation from a friend with specific instructions to try the mimosas and the french toast. They were out of champagne?? So we ordered another cocktail which we did not receive for 20 minutes. The food was great as was our waiter.

Dinner was disappointing. Very limited menu! I had the meatloaf; it was ok but kind of dry. I tasted the shrimp it was excellent! The last issue i have is the noise coming from the milkshake blender. When it was running, it was so loud you couldn’t talk. Overall an ok experience but not great.

We’ve read about BLD and the awesome chef inspired dishes. We love to eat, especially in Charleston, and BLD gave even the best Charleston restaurant a run for its money. My husband had Chicken and Waffles and said the taste combination is genius. Somebody knows what they are doing. I had Cobb salad and added Fried Chicken. All the ingredients were fresh and just the perfect blend with the exact amount of Buttermilk dressing added. Can’t wait to return and try one of the Benedict’s. Our server, Matt, was very good at explaining the many choices and provided excellent service. We will definitely return soon!
