For many years, owner Timothy Patrick Rooney, had a dream of one day owning a craft brew pub. Although the original vision was that of a small humble establishment, Rooney’s opened in July of 2010, and has been recognized as one of the most beautiful, authentic Irish pubs outside of Dublin. We are consistently recognized as being the best brew pub/bar in the area and have been awarded one of the best Restaurants in all of Northern Santa Barbara County. Known for its fresh farm to table menu, EVERYTHING is made fresh in house, with local ingredients everyday. Rooney’s is also proudly brewing its own delicious beers on site along with offering an extensive ‘cellar’ list of fine craft brews. We proudly serve predominantly Santa Barbara County wines, which are paired with our amazing dishes. Rooney's offers an extensive selection of Fine American Bourbons, Whiskeys, and Scotch Whisky's. We are proud to offer the largest and finest selection of Irish Whiskeys in all of California.

Very disappointing for New Year’s eve dinner. Had reservation but were seated in extra room with recreation center type tables and chairs. Appetizers came out with meals instead of ahead of meals, food delivered inconsistently by multiple people instead of waitress. Once food delivered no follow up for drinks or dessert, then just handed bill with 20% tip automatically applied. Really not acceptable to add 20% tip For a small party when service was poor.

When we arrived a hostess did not want to honor our reservation. She indicated that too many people have been waiting that didn’t have reservations. She said we would have to wait at least 30 minutes. My friend and I asked what’s the point of taking reservations If they are not honored? She apologized and said we had to wait—we asked to speak to a manager. She shared they were having a problem with OpenTable not notifying them reservations have been made. She quickly cleared a table in the bar area and we were helped right away. It was pretty loud and there were a lot of people there. Live music, and conversation and your typical bar scene. The drinks were good, and the food was okay. My friend was served a burnt sandwich and a server dropped my food. But they replaced both in a timely fashion. The menu was extensive and I would be willing to try it again.

Some of the meals were very good, but two had to be sent back for being extreamly salty. The service is slow and the price is high for pub food. We made a reservation for eight people and when we arrived it took them 10 minutes to set up the table. All they did was add pre-wrapped silverware and stack the menus on the end of the table. The restaraunt was only about 25% full.

Found this place recently and it's already our favorite place on Orcutt. They do a kid-friendly brunch every other Sunday and our 2 girls loved it. Excited to see what the transition to the pizza oven will bring.

First visit and we will go back again. Table area was clean and inviting but lighting was minimal. Service was excellent and the waitress was very knowledgeable. Our orders arrived in a very timely fashion and our food was enjoyable.

We missed the old humorous Irish menu! Now it is just like many other chain restaurant menus. The noise level had increased 5-fold. We couldn't hear each other around a table for 5. The appetizers came so slowly that by the time they came the entrees were practically there too. It was a birthday, and had been told upon arrival and in the reservation, but no mention was made of it. Not even a wish for a happy birthday, let alone a birthday candle on the dessert. We used to look forward to coming to Rooney's and bringing guests. I don't think we will go back again.
