Blanco Tacos + Tequila - Tucson
Great service and good food. It’s too noisy in the restaurant. You can’t hear anything other petard saying.
But overall great evening.
We were charged for the birthday cake. I thought it would have been complimentary since we were celebrating a birthday.
I’ve been to Blanco’s many many times and have always enjoyed it a lot but this time was different. Food was not as good (machaca tacos) and was only warm, not hot. Portions were smaller but price was the same so value was decreased. The mini flour tortillas were very spongey, not the usual freshly made, thin ones.
Our server was very good, the only high point. She was efficient and communicated well. I had an ‘open table’ reservation for 6 people at 11. Usually with a reservation, the table is ready when you arrive. This was not the case. We were asked by the hostess to wait while they set up our table. The table they were putting together was for some other group who was waiting, THEN our table was set up. We waited approximately 5 mins for the table to get set up. Why have a reservation? The restaurant had only been open a few minutes. It wasn’t like they had a crowd to work around. Possibly put the table together at the end of the previous shift???
I was supposed to meet a girlfriend for lunch this week at Blancos but after this less- than- stellar experience, we’ve decided to go elsewhere.
Wonderful atmosphere and great place for any occasion. :)
Happy hour specials are great, and the bartenders make it fun.
Location is awesome, food and margaritas are fantastic and the service is impeccable.
I have to be honest, not a fan of the guacamole, it was too stringy.
I usually really love this restaurant, one of my go-it’s when I visit Tucson. However, this time the service was so slow and inattentive, and the food mediocre. I waited about 25 minutes for my second margarita, and it came to the table after we had finished eating and waited around for our server. The tacos were supposed to have a chipotle sauce, but were bone dry. I would have asked for a side of the sauce but my server was no where to be found.
Very disappointed in a favorite of mine.
Well balanced Mexican food menu selections and spirits make it a place for a wonderful dining experience.
Great food as always
It feels like instant vacation... so chill and relaxing. Decided the jalapeño pineapple margarita is our new favorite! The staff is always attentive and the food is fresh.
We were there to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday and we’ve never had a bad experience with Blanco’s Tacos and Tequila in the past. This was by far our favorite place for celebrations. This encounter was an outlier in that the food took 50 minutes to get to our table and it was served cold. Service was great as always but I would hesitate in going back for another celebration. The place didn’t seem busy so we expected the food to come out a lot sooner than it did. The food being cold was a surprise.
Our waiter was excellent.
We haven’t been to Blanco in years but we thought we would give it another try. Nice view of a possible monsoon storm and a nice dinner with friends. Sad to say no storm and the food was bland but the company was good. The tacos came to the table cold and really had no flavor. Even the corn tortilla tasted like they had been hanging around for a little too long. Everything had a element of food service food. Nothing made in house. Honestly, I can make better fish tacos at home. I think the chef needs to take a trip to Sebastopol, California for some inspiration. Namely a restaurant by the name of Handline. Best fish taco, beans, everything.
My husband and I went out for date night. We love Blancos. It never disappoints. The food was great as usual. I had Mahi tacos and my husband had the steak salad. This is one of our favorite restaurants.
First timer, great food, wonderful service, super Margaritas.
Food and drinks were served very quickly. Food was hot and very tasty. Will definitely go back
Why put the shades up while the sun is still so strong? The entire patio was suddenly in the blazing sun.
Called ahead and told hostess Emma that we were celebrating a birthday. Emma said she would make a “note of it so the server can bring a desert out with a candle.” It never happened.
Asked server for a straw, he said “I don’t have one on me.”
Great fish tacos, tasty chips and salsa. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the waiter forgot to bring rice with my order.
Went with a group of friends in town for a conference. Great food, fresh and full of flavor.
NO value, terribly small portions. My three tacos were small street tacos with a sliver of Mahi. Each taco should have had all three slivers if fish. My husbands bowl had two tiny pieces of meat, a spoon of beans, a spoon of rice and lettuce. It didn’t even fill half the bowel. Then the waiter was extremely rude to ask him if he wanted the rest to go!! What? The lettuce? The beans were terrible and canned. Rice was plain. Our first and last trip all for $60.00. The worst!
Waitress was great but receptionists were rude and not engaged at all. Waited for 15 minutes after reservation and were told busing the table then finally the people haven’t left the table. Very, very noisy.... not a restaurant to have a conversation in
This is by far my favorite place! The Pink Sangria is so summer refreshing. I absolutely love the menu, whether it is hot or cold outside there is something perfect to eat. Do not hesitate to go there for dinner. I try to make a reservation for outside dining so that I don't have to wait. But even when I do have to wait it isn't long and there is a nice comfortable couch area to sit and they will bring you drinks. Love, Love this place.
We were there for my daughter's birthday. The reservations were made through open table and the restaurant was not prepared for us...we had to wait a good 10+ mins for our table. The noise level was very loud, it was hard to hear the person across from you.
It seems, for whatever reason, there were only 3 servers on this particular Monday night and the restaurant was slammed. It took over an hour to get our food which was just ok (4 out of 6 enjoyed their dinners) It was a long wait in between when the server would come by the table.
I will certainly try the restaurant again with the hopes of better service and a better choice of dinner for myself.
Patio cooling water misters we’re not turned on until half way through our lunch despite the outdoor temperature being about 100 degrees. My mother ordered the carne asada tacos. The meat was VERY gristled. We were there to celebrate her birthday. Sadly, she did not enjoy her lunch.
Great time and ambience.
Never had this happen before, ordered drinks first, then the main courses 15 min later. The guacamole and chips came first, then the main course arrived 5 min after placing the order. Then 3 min later the drinks arrived with an apology!
Hard to figure!!
So disappointed with the menu changes for Tucson - the original. We knew things had changed when salsa came out and it was more sweet than usual. Guacamole had no flavor - looked like something you pick up at Trader Joe’s. Cheese crisp also a disappointment. Service was wonderful- so that hasn’t changed. Our waitress explained reason for changes was they tested this menu in Houston and it was a hit. A hit in Houston is now a big disappointment for us Tucsonans.
Love going. Good food. Can be loud. Don’t expect phenomenal service, but I just lower my expectations. It’s still all around fun and our family enjoys going to eat at Blanco.
Very good a and varied menu and the food was very well prepared. service was excellent, friendly and very prompt and efficient
Normally a standout. The last couple of times food delicious but service slow. Slow to take order, slow to bring queso and then with no chips that took even longer to come. Maybe help is an issue in the summer. I hope they get it back together
The overall experience was good but I have a gluten allergy, I ordered the chicken tacos on corn, with pinto beans.
I received 2 corn tacos and one flour along with black beans!
When I told the waiters she said “ oh sorry”....
Underwhelming for an FRC restaurant. Good, but not great.
It was so fun to get out and sit on the patio. The food was delicious and I was able to put together a meal to satisfy Weight Watchers.
They had a wedding reception of 100 people on the patio. Kitchen and bar could not handle the volume plus the dining room. Kept making the excuse "oh we have 100 people for a private party". Ok. So it was not a surprise that you were going to have 100 people on the patio. If it can't handle the volume close the dining area. I should not get treated less because you choose to have more people than you can handle. My treatment should not come second. Took 30 min for drinks and over an hour for food. Our reservation was for 6:45. Left at 9pm with our dinner packed to go before we ate it. Don't make excuses. Be less greedy next time. Think of all of your guests as important.
My biggest complaint was the slow service. It was a Friday night. Service was very slow-maybe 25 minutes to get our drinks. Waiter was pleasant when he was around but too busy and distracted with other tables most of the time. Food was just so-so. I ordered blanco salad with chicken and it was a small plate salad with maybe a couple of ounces of tiny cut up chicken. Others ordered taco plates and no one complained but didn’t say much either. I prob wouldn’t come here again.
Happy hour. Excellent house margarita! Tacos were very small even for$3.50 each. Tasty but not memorable.
The weather was perfect, the food was delectable and the service was outstanding! Jonathan did an outstanding job and helped to create a wonderful experience and memory for us and our newly graduated Seniors.
food good, very noisy and loud music
Food was just ok. They got one of the orders wrong and the tortilla soup was below par....but some of the other food items were good, like slow cooked pork tacos I had, and the waiter was a good guy.
Food was good but nothing special. The service was bad. We were recommended to do outdoor seating for the view and due to the weather. Instead we were seated outdoors but not on the patio, but instead in a corner overlooking the mall. The waiter forgot about our drinks and managed to bring our entrees while we were just starting our cheese crisp appetizer.
The drinks were out if this world good! The service was great! The food was pretty good.
Great food, service. Ate on patio which was the best. Will eat there again.
Had a very nice lunch on Mother's Day. Our waiter was a bit over extended so had to wait to have our order taken a bit longer than usual. I ordered the sauteed veggies and have had them before and they were very good. This time they were dry and overcooked and too much cauliflower. Usually there is eggplant-think there might have been one piece on my dish.
You really should do something about the noise level. Cannot even hear the person across from you. Other than that it was fine! I will come back, but not for awhile.
