This was our first time at Blade and we were pleasantly surprised. Very intimate environment, even with another restaurant on the other side of the location. Friendly and attentive customer service and great quality sushi. We had the 5 sushi platter as an appetizer and it was delicious and incredibly fresh. Would definitely go back!

Chef was great, came out to introduce himself. We came for my birthday from Sarasota for the Omekase. The rice wasn't flavorful like sushi rice normally is. Quality of fish slightly above average, but definitely not the highest quality I would have expected for Omekase. Some of the selections tasted very fishy, and not in a pleasant way. Ambience does not lend itself to Japanese sushi experience. We had sake pairing and had to ask for more detailed explanation of what each one was. Also would have been nice to have been told which sake to pair with what fish. Server and staff friendly.

Not busy when we dined. Slow service. Food was just ok and definitely way overpriced given the overall experience. Won't be back.

Overall nice modern casual ambiance and even if restaurant was full it wasn't noisy. The Japanese menu was also very good and both my husband and I enjoyed it for our anniversary dinner.

Very good sushi. Short wine list. Value for money is ok, but expect no less than 150 for a couple with wine

Fresh and delicious sushi. A great mix of unique rolls and classic on the menu. Nice, modern atmosphere. A bit pricey, but not surprising being located in a Miami Beach resort.

We had a confirmed Open Table reservation (email & profile to back it up), which they would not acknowledge - and were actually quite rude about. We used Open Table for other reservations at the hotel throughout the week and didn't have any issues - so was very disappointing.

I visited while traveling for a business. Reservations were easily made, upon arrival we only had to wait a few minutes for a party of 6. The setting was comfortable and food was tasty!

The sushi is delicious and fresh. They bring fresh fish into this hotel by boat daily, so you can never go wrong. This is one of the few spots in the Fontainebleau where you can order a sushi roll and salad, without overeating or breaking the bank. That said, I was disappointed to see that they convert the hotel breakfast room into the dining room for sushi at dinner time. It felt a bit fake (like a sushi lounge on a TV sitcom) and I couldn't lose the image of kids eating chocolate chip pancakes at my table just a few hours before. Bottom line, delicious sushi, capable service, little ambiance. As long as you know what to expect, you will enjoy your meal.

We had low expectations going in, but were pleasantly surprised by both the food and the service. The hamachi, which is perfectly paired with Asian pear and yes glaze, is phenomenal and a definite must try. The rolls, the sushi and the sashimi were all fresh and tasty. Our server from Morocco (who's name I have sadly forgotten) was lovely. She was very friendly and also very knowledgeable about the menu. She made some great recommendations for both cocktails and food. We will definitely eat here again.

The Fontainebleau has some serious dining choices---Blade, while still upscale, is less formal. The sushi is very good and a couple of selections were quite creative. But it's in the Vida space which gives it more of a dinette feel than the food deserves.

Restaurant with great atmosphere, good wait staff & great food. However, the menu pricing was way out of line for what you received. Extremely small portions with extremely high prices. Based on the prices & portion sizes would not visit the restaurant again!!

We found it expensive with poor ingredients. A crunchy roll with chopped tuna was a really cheap and bad dish. None of the sashimi tasted very fresh.

We live in Miami and went to Blade as it was one of the few restaurants in the area that had a table available at the time we wanted during Art Basel. Blade is located in the Fountainbleu Hotel- so we thought how bad can it be? It's not bad, just very, very average. It is located on the lower floor of the building and feels likes a cafeteria. There are actually two restaurants that share the same space(which seems odd too). The design and acoustics are not great either(looks and sounds like a cafeteria). The sushi was fine but the drink and wine list(poor selection)was limited- so we ordered cocktails- which were bright green and served in beverage glasses with ice- like something you would get out by a pool. When our waitress asked how we liked the drinks- we said we didn't(but she still left them on the bill).

Maybe Blade is fine for quick sushi if you are staying at the hotel- but as locals- we were all not impressed with the experience and doubt we will ever return.

Food at blade was very good, service was exceptional and the overall experience was great. HOWEVER, prices were ridiculously expensive. It IS located at the fountainble so I expected that a bit but this was outrageous.

Besides being incredibly confusing to get to on the property - rude hostesses and servers. Overpriced everything. Refused to make a substitution in the one item I really wanted. Veg tempura showed up with mostly empty batter pouches. Gratuity added automatically for the server to clearly show she didn't care about her automata experience and then top it off with a $25 mandatory valet fee! I left hungry and feeling like the point was to open my wallet wide and let the employees take it all for nothing in return

we originally had reservations, but ended up taking the food to go. Didnt understand why we got charged a service charge (gratuity 20% on a takeout order) and the lady who took our order barely spoke english, therefore my order didnt turn out as I had requested. I thoroughly enjoyed the crunchy tuna roll, though!

This is simply a place to go if you're already on site at Fontaine Bleau and develop an itch for sushi. We made reservations for Sunday at 7pm, only to arrive to a literally empty restaurant. $9 for miso soup is a joke. On the positive side:

- The specialty rolls (Chateau and Blade Roll) were both good. The "crispy" part of the chateau roll was missing, and so we solved that by stealing overflow tempura flakes from the blade roll. Worked out awesome.
- Bluefin tuna was on the menu
- Good saki selection
- People watching, you can watch all the bikini clad people coming and going outside the window (casual environment)
- Tightly rolled napkin expanding with hot water was a nice presentation touch
- Waitress was great

The sushi was very good but it took a while for it to come... too long in my view. Service was also good but not exceptional. Prices were high but it's Miami and it's hot spot so you shouldn't visit if you aren't up for that.
