Post summer dinner out, great time as the locals come out and the tourist retreat till next year!
Food is consistently excellent no matter the time of year!
Dirty Hitch is the main reason we go there for a nice martini. Glass was poured a little short which is the only issue we had on the final round.
Excellent experience at Blackwall. Our server Rita was the right mix of friendly and efficient. Food was beautifully presented and coursed in a timely manner. Delicious shrimp appetizer and “off the chain” Mahi Mahi tacos. My husband was impressed with the pork chop. Would definitely eat here again, so glad we chose this restaurant.
I thought the food was delicious. But I was disappointed with the portion size of the meal. 2 scallops and 2 shrimp on risotto is more like an appetizer than an entree. I left hungry.
Restaurant was empty even though the streets were filled with people. Server was ok. Nothing stuck out about him. Ordered the watermelon salad, it was literally a 3x4 chunk of watermelon with feta thrown on it on top of a little bit of arugula with balsamic glaze. Should of been $6 max. It was $10. Other meals were chicken wrap. It was ok but the fries were ice cold. The burger was ok also but again with ice cold fries. The people working there were less than enthusiastic. Nothing we had was great it was just “mah”. The empty restaurant should’ve been the warning.
Food and service were decent. Sat in ketchup from previous seating, cant happen during proper pandemic protocol.
We loved this restaurant when it was Blackwall Hitch. Now it is Blackwall on the Beach and they don't have the black wall or any of what was so cool about the atmosphere. Now it is farmhouse chic meets industrial left over from before. I could get over the atmosphere given that it is on Rehobeth Avenue and perhaps it was a little too upscale for the location. But not excited to dine with individuals who have barely covered from the beach. The food was completely hit or miss. Let's face it, having not been to a restaurant since March due to COVID, I wanted something lovely and memorable. The Maryland crab soup had no crab. The watermelon gazpacho on the other hand was delicious. Spicy, fresh, crisp in flavor. I had high hopes for the rest of the meal. But it too was 1 for 2. Crab cake was generous and delicious. The Mahi Mahi tacos were so overdone I could have bounced them on the floor. They were spongey and flavorless. The corn slaw on the side was very good. Our server was new. Didn't know anything about the history of the place or the menu. Never recommended the daily special.
Seemed overwhelmed. Meanwhile the bartender was serving the table next to us and she seemed to be delightful and experienced. Would take a lot for me to go back.
Great food and service. Wide open indoor and outdoor dining
Good food in a great setting on the Avenue in Rehoboth beach. All Covid guidelines were followed.
Outdoors and very nice
This was my second visit and I was not disappoionted! I had the mahi tacos and my friend had the fried shrimp dinner. Both were outstanding.
Thanks for a wonder evening!
We met friends here for a slow drinking and dining evening and the waiter was so accommodating and cook about our pace. Yet we waited tor nothing! It never felt rushed and the food was awesome! The peach salad was soooo good! We will be back next summer for sure as it’s one of our go tos every summer!
We visited this restaurant when it first opened...sadly the quality/ambiance has deteriorated since then. Our service was very slow, even though the restaurant was almost empty. Our appetizer arrived after our entrees, and our food was barely warm...and mediocre at best. We were very disappointed.
Our meals were excellent. Couldn't be happier. Thank you!
The food was absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend going for dinner just for the food. Our server was not great unfortunately, we had a hard time communicating with him and he wasn't very friendly. The food came out pretty fast but unfortunately our server never followed up to make sure we were enjoying our food nor to ask if we needed anything else. He only came back when we were finished, took our plates and gave us the check. So, if you want amazing food and don't care about the service, this is a great night out.
food was very good, service was a little slow and the music was way too loud, couldn't even have a conversation
The tables outside were not corded off well.. a lot of foot traffic.. Food was ok. Not worth the money especially for a birthday celebration.
Drinks and bartender amazing she was also our waitress. Great ambiance, cool design, the food however left a little to be desired for the cost. The Bayou pasta was greasy and had little to no flavor. My crab cake was greasy. For 6 people, two of which got side dishes as entrees $250 seems a little steep. BTW, it was not busy so that cannot be an excuse.
Pretty casual spot with good food - not great, but not bad. Pretty pricey, though, for what you actually get. On this particular experience, they were out of a lot of things. We didn't find that to be the case at any of the other restaurants in Rehoboth so I don't think you can blame it on COVID. Server knowledge was pretty modest, too. Overall - a genuinely ok spot but way over priced for what you get.
The food was okay, our sever was great. In the end we felt like the food was overpriced. Had it been a bit lower in cost, it would’ve compensated for quality.
Food, service and ambiance is wonderful as always. The rock music was a bit too loud and aggressive for our liking, but not awful.
Good for lunch. The food we ordered was very fresh and came in a timely manner. The bartender was our server and she was great. Everyone was friendly and the restaurant was very clean.
Great food and drinks. Very unique place with comfortable seating options. It was a great time visiting this place.
Food was subpar for the price. Outside smelled like sewage.
My girlfriend and I have four children ranging in age from 7 to 13-year-old. The restaurant it’s not cheap however it’s not unreasonable. But it’s definitely worth every penny. The food was very very good service was energetic polite and helpful and just overall great. Manager stopped over to see how her night was going he was very friendly and energetic. The decorations and the entire mood in the restaurant were very well done. The kids menu had a nice amount of selections. The adults menu speaks for itself when you read it, the food was cooked perfectly and prepared perfectly. We had two cocktails I do not remember the names they also were well prepared. We will definitely be going back next time we’re at Bethany Beach
Food was pretty good, from steaks to seafood no complaints. The problem was the cocktails. Took forever to get them and they really were not very good
Went for brunch on Sunday. The food was terrible. Ordered an adult portion of pancakes and they pancakes were thin and small. Pancakes are cheap to make so it wouldn’t be hard to make a decent sized portion. Also ordered biscuits and gravy. The sausage in the gravy was just sliced sausage links. I’ve never seen that, ever. The food was also served basically cold. The final straw was the coffee. It was like the grounds were used 3 times. Then we were charged for refills. At breakfast, there was music blaring. The entire experience from food to service and atmosphere was terrible.
I was disappointed that the Open Table menu was not reflective of the current menu in the restaurant . Please update your online menu on Open Table
Nice spot for drinks and dinner. Would return.
The food was fantastic! We loved the seafood dishes and my picky eater loved the grilled pork chop.
Was for Anniversary delightful and very positive experience
First time at the Rehoboth location and it didn’t disappoint. Table for five was ready as promised, apps, drinks and entrees were all outstanding. Service was great, attentive without being annoying.
Had the oysters and crab dip for apps - delicious! Had the shrimp and scallops risotto - terrible. Had zero flavor.
The food was wonderful and our service was great. Also, the drink specials were spot on!
Great location, service was prompt and courteous, we didn't order main entrees but the appetizers and salad were very good.
The place was empty inside at 5pm on a Saturday in August. We sat a good while before anyone approached our table but out server, once she arrived, was nice and attentive. She always kept her nose and mouth covered. The biggest disappointment for us was the food. The Maryland crab soup was overly salty and luke warm. The mahi tacos came with 2 small pieces of fish on top of a mess of feta and slaw (unlike the pictures online). The combo didn't work well, especially with the feta. The corn slaw was overcooked with strings of corn silk throughout. The Bayou Penne was bland and devoid of character. Will not go back.
During COVID season. Sat outdoors. Table was sticky. Oysters overpriced. Especially when waitress didn’t know from what area they were sourced. Out of most beers. Not fully COVID compliant. Food OK, but nothing making us want to go back.
Greens were fresh. Pork tacos with cole slaw were OK, but not special. Clam strips were frozen commercial style.
Cute out door location exceptional service! Very clean!!!
